  • Gaze detection is to locate the position on a monitor screen where a user is looking at. We implement it by a computer vision system setting a camera above a monitor, and a user move (rotates and or translates) her face to gaze at a different position on the monitor. Up to now, we have tried several different approaches and among them the Two Neural Network approach shows the best result which is described in this paper (1.7 inch error for test data including facial rotation. 3.1 inch error for test data including facial rotation and translation).

  • A PSD system has a lot of characteristic for safety. Trust of performance test is very important. But PSD performance test has an effect on trust by proficiency of test staff because it is difficult to automate. In that specially the effort test, manual opening and shutting test and abrasion measurement, test staff is demanded for proficiency. Therefore the paper repeated measurement in same condition and studied proficient factor of examiner according to increased measurement counter. As a result, measurement uncertainty has improved.

가스터빈 엔진의 입구 유동 왜속 시험 (Inlet Distortion Test of Gas Turbine Engine)

  • Inlet distortion test was performed at Korea Aerospace Research Institute in order to evaluate the degradation of engine performance under the distorted inlet condition. In this paper, only the inlet pressure distortion was taken into consideration. During the development process of the inlet distortion test technique, variable distortion screen was designed and evaluated under various test conditions to establish the experimental database of distortion for engine test. The result of inlet distortion test for engine shows that the operating point was changed toward the worse direction and the degradation of engine performance by inlet distortion was verified.

  • Unknown age, spayed female mixed dog was presented with a severe lethargy. Radiography, ultrasonography, and blood screen test were performed to make a diagnosis. There were no specific radiographic findings. On the ultrasonography, small amount of ascites was found around gallbladder and hepatic vein was dilated approximately 6.1 mm. Blood screen test revealed a severe anemia. Result of heartworm ELISA kit was positive. At necropsy, parasites were in the left atrium, right ventricles, aorta, pulmonary artery, right renal artery.

모바일 단말기를 위한 추천 소프트 키보드 (Preliminary Study on Soft Keyboard with Recommendation for Mobile Device)

  • 최근 대부분의 모바일 단말기는 LCD 터치 화면에 소프트 키보드를 장착한다. 그러나 소프트 키보드의 터치화면의 크기가 작기 때문에, 인접키가 실수로 눌러지고, 한 키를 여러 키 입력에 중복 사용함에 따라 사용자의 키 입력 오류가 많이 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 사용자가 텍스트를 입력하는 동안 적절한 어휘를 추천하여 키 입력 오류를 쉽게 수정하도록 돕는 알고리즘을 제안하고 MissLess 소프트 키보드를 구현한 내용에 대해 기술한다. 3개의 간단한 테스트 셋을 작성하여 MissLess 키보드의 추천 성능을 평가한 결과 다소 차이가 있지만 90%에 달하는 추천 성능을 얻었다. 그러나 추천 워드가 4개인 것을 고려하면 추천 성능을 해석할 필요가 있다.

Partial Discharge Simulation and Analysis Based on Experiment in Underground Distribution Power Cables

  • This paper describes the simulation and experiment for partial discharge (PD) pulse propagation in 22.9kV CNCV power cables. To investigate the propagation characteristics of PD, experiments are carried out by injecting the PD pulse in 100m-long 60 $mm^2$ CNCV cable in the laboratory. The characteristics of PD are also simulated using EMTP to investigate and analyze PD in the same cable. By comparing the simulation and test results, parameter permittivity is recalculated by considering semiconducting screen in the process of simulation and analysis of PD. After it is proved that simulation results and test results are almost similar in the laboratory, extensive simulations are performed to analyse various PD characteristics such as propagation velocity, attenuation, etc. in 60 $mm^2$ and 325 $mm^2$ CNCV cables. Authors are confident that results obtained in this paper will be used as important technical materials to detect and investigate PD generated in transmission and distribution power cables.

레이더 전자보호 성능시험을 위한 송.수신 간섭신호 제거 기법 (A Method Eliminating the Interference Signal for the Test of the Radar Electronic Protection Performance)

  • Jamming simulator has developed for the purpose of the test and evaluation on the electronic protection capabilities of the tracking radar onboard ship. This simulator has the capabilities to generate and radiate the jamming signals against the radar as well as those to receive, analyze and identify the radar signals at a real sea environment. The limited space of ship superstructure has led to the serious distortion caused by the ring around phenomenon that some sidelobes of the jamming beams were coming back to the receiving antenna. In this paper, we have proposed the methods to eliminate the ring around. First, we have inserted the groove metal screen between transmitting and receiving antennas. Second, we have used the PRI(Pulse Repetition Interval) tracking loop to control the switching timing of the input radar and the output jamming signal. Finally, we have demonstrated the performance and effectiveness of the proposed methods through the sea trial.

무작위 시청각자극이 건강한 성인의 보행에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Random Visual and Auditory Stimulation on Walking of Healthy Adults)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of visual and auditory stimulation randomly applied to healthy adults on walking. Design: Randomized Controlled Trial. Methods: Twenty-six healthy students in S college were randomly divided into visual feedback group (n=13) and auditory feedback group (n=13). The visual feedback group walked using four conditions. 1) In the red screen was shown, clap twice to the right, 2) In yellow screen, clap twice to the left, 3) In green screen, clap twice over head. 4) Do not clap in purple screen. The auditory feedback group walked using four conditions. 1)in red, clap twice to the right, 2) In yellow, clap twice left, 3) In green, clap twice over your head. 4) Do not clap in purple. All subjects measured gait variables before and after the test using G-walker. Result: The visual feedback group showed a significant decrease (p<.05) in the number of steps per minute, walking speed, and step length compared with that of normal walking. The auditory feedback group showed a significant decrease (p<.05) in the number of steps per minute, walking speed, and step length than that of normal walking. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that visual and auditory stimulation applied to healthy adults may have significant effects on walking.

모바일 디바이스 화면의 클릭 가능한 객체 탐지를 위한 싱글 샷 디텍터 (Single Shot Detector for Detecting Clickable Object in Mobile Device Screen)

  • 모바일 디바이스 화면상의 클릭 가능한 객체를 인지하기 위한 데이터셋을 구축하고 새로운 네트워크 구조를 제안한다. 모바일 디바이스 화면에서 클릭 가능한 객체를 기준으로 다양한 해상도를 가진 디바이스에서 여러 애플리케이션을 대상으로 데이터를 수집하였다. 총 24,937개의 annotation data를 text, edit text, image, button, region, status bar, navigation bar의 7개 카테고리로 세분화하였다. 해당 데이터셋을 학습하기 위한 모델 구조는 Deconvolution Single Shot Detector를 베이스라인으로, backbone network는 기존 ResNet에 Squeeze-and-Excitation block을 추가한 Squeeze-and-Excitation networks를 사용하고, Single shot detector layers와 Deconvolution module을 Feature pyramid networks 형태로 쌓아 올려 header와 연결한다. 또한, 기존 input resolution의 1:1 비율에서 오는 특징의 손실을 최소화하기 위해 모바일 디바이스 화면과 유사한 1:2 비율로 변경하였다. 해당 모델을 구축한 데이터셋에 대하여 실험한 결과 베이스라인에 대비하여 mean average precision이 최대 101% 개선되었다.

Correlation Analysis between Cognitive function and Praxis tasks in the Elderly

  • The purpose of this study was to identify differences in cognitive function according to the presence or absence of apraxia and the tasks most relevant to the cognitive function among the various types of tasks in the apraxia test. The subjects were 42 community residents who participated in a cognitive rehabilitation program related to dementia in a Chungbuk area. MMSE-K and BCoS(Birmingham Cognitive Screen) apraxia test were administered to all subjects. The apraxia test includes three types of tasks, gesture production tasks that make meaningful movements according to verbal instructions, gesture recognition tasks that display behavior after make sense of meanings, and meaningless imitation task. Apraxia group(n=30, MMSE-K mean score: 25) showed lower cognitive function than group without apraxia(n=12, MMSE-K mean score: 28). All tasks in the apraxia test showed a significant correlation with cognitive function, but the meaningless imitation task had a negligible correlation. The apraxia test is a good way to assess cognitive function, and it may be more effective to use meaningful behavior to replace cognitive testing.
