  • The control system is accomplishing very important role in our life currently as the national critical Infrastructure and large scale industry plant. We manage SCADA system to manage generally the control system interconnected with the information system. The operating system of SCADA is changing also to the well-known OS like Windows or UNIX for offer various convenience and facility to the user. We offered the reason why such change of the system makes so that it is exposed to cyber terror. In the traditional SCADA system is managed safely by an isolated network system physically. It is the trend to increase gradually though a cyber terror possibility is thinner on a control system than a information system but the cyber terror gives a nation or community wide damage influence of large scale if it happens. Therefore this paper presents a security safeguard plan about SCADA system and helps prepare systematic security strategy and enhance the security level implement.

  • Traditionally SCADA is connected only in a limited private network. With new technology and facilities, there are also demands of connecting SCADA though the internet. The internet SCADA facility has brought a lot of advantages in terms of control, data viewing and generation. Aside from connecting SCADA to the internet, there are also operators who want to connect their system wirelessly. This can save budget for communication lines. Along with the advantages it brings, are security issues regarding wireless internet SCADA. In this paper, we discuss internet SCADA, its connection through wireless communication and the security issues surrounding it. To answer the security issues, a symmetric-key encryption for internet SCADA is proposed.

  • With the smart grid coming near, wide-area supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) becomes more and more important. However, traditional SCADA systems are not suitable for the openness and distribution requirements of smart grid. Distributed SCADA services should be openly composable and secure. Event-driven methodology makes service collaborations more real-time and flexible because of the space, time and control decoupling of event producer and consumer, which gives us an appropriate foundation. Our SCADA services are constructed and integrated based on distributed events in this paper. Unfortunately, an event-driven SCADA service does not know who consumes its events, and consumers do not know who produces the events either. In this environment, a SCADA service cannot directly control access because of anonymous and multicast interactions. In this paper, a distributed security framework is proposed to protect not only service operations but also data contents in smart grid environments. Finally, a security implementation scheme is given for SCADA services.

  • SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system has been used for remote measurement and control on the critical infrastructures as well as modem industrial facilities. As cyber attacks increase on communication networks, SCADA network has been also exposed to cyber security problems. Especially, SCADA systems of energy industry such as electric power, gas and oil are vulnerable to targeted cyber attack and terrorism Recently, many research efforts to solve the problems have made progress on SCADA network security. In this paper, flexible key distribution concept is proposed for improving the security of SCADA network using Multiagent System (MAS).

  • The SCADA(Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) system is a control system for infrastructure of nation. In the past, the SCADA system was designed without security function because of its closed operating environment. However, the security of the SCADA system has become an issue with connection to the open network caused by improved technology. In this paper we review the constraints and security requirements for SCADA system and propose advanced key management architecture for secure SCADA communications. The contributions of the present work are that our scheme support both message broadcasting and secure communications, while the existing key management schemes for SCADA system don't support message broadcasting. Moreover, by evenly spreading much of the total amount of computation across high power nodes (MTU or SUB-MTU), our protocol avoids any potential performance bottleneck of the system while keeping the burden on low power (RTU) nodes at minimal.

  • The linking system between the control system and the field devices in the existing EMS/SCADA, in order to increase the reliability of the data, and access control through the separation of external network. Currently, There is a tendency that the need for connection to an external network that takes into account the economic aspect, systematic management and efficiency of operations is increasing. Such is evolved linkage section, is to have more security vulnerabilities than in the past, Eventually communication EMS/SCADA linkage section requires special management method. In this paper, taking into account the domestic environment, were presented the security Certification and Accreditation technology that was applied to serial DNP3 and TCP/IP based DNP3 that are mainly used in EMS/SCADA linkage section. Presented to security of Certification and Accreditation technology, divided into Resource Robustness Test and Malicious Packet Test for evaluate the safety. Each of the security requirements and evaluation method in proposed technology, is an attempt to present the differentiation of the existing Certification and Accreditation technology.

  • In this study, we propose an effective network managed security services model that can detect a presence of potential malicious codes inside the energy-based SCADA Systems. Especially, by analyzing the data obtained in the same environment of SCADA Systems, we develop detection factors to applicable to the managed security services and propose the method for the network managed security services. Finally, the proposed network managed security services model through simulation proved possibility to detect malicious traffic in SCADA systems effectively.

  • There is increasing use of common commercial operation system and standard PCs to control industrial production systems, and cyber security threat for industrial facilities have emerged as a serious problem. Now these network connected ICS(Industrial Control Systems) stand vulnerable to the same threats that the enterprise information systems have faced and they are exposed to malicious attacks. In particular Stuxnet is a computer worm targeting a specific industrial control system, such as a gas pipeline or power plant and in theory, being able to cause physical damage. In this paper we present an overview of the general configuration and cyber security threats of a SCADA and investigate the attack tree analysis to identify and assess security vulnerabilities in SCADA for the purpose of response to cyber attacks in advance.

  • The existing data transmission technology applied between the non-secure external internet and the secure internal business network has various problems when applied to the building facility management SCADA system control network. Traditional inter-network data transfer technologies involve high complexity and high costs because blacklist-based security techniques are applied to all data. However, whitelist-based security techniques can be applied to data distributed in Building Facility Management SCADA control systems because a small number of structured control data are repeatable and periodic. This simplifies the security technology applied to inter-network data transmission, enabling building facility management SCADA system control network deployment at low cost. In this paper, we proposed building control networks specialized in building facility management SCADA control systems by providing solutions to address and address these problems.
