In order to improve the adhesion properties of copper, MPS(3-mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane) organic film were employed. The plasma pretreatment in pure He or $He/O_{2}$ mixed gas environment greatly increased adhesion force. Adhesion force was measured by scratch test with nano indenter. Microstructures and surface roughness were observed with scanning electron microscope(SEM). The characteristics of MPS layer for pretreatment were studied with flourier transform infrared spectroscope(FT-IR) and contact angle tester. The heighest adhesion was achieved in the specimen pretreated with mixed plasma and NPS coating, which was 56mN. Other specimen showed lower value by $20{\%}$ to $30{\%}$. The roughness of substrate was not affected by the bonding strength of copper plating.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to compare the compliance, efficacy, and satisfaction associated with methylphenidate and atomoxetine for treating attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Methods: The subjects were 44 patients who met the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorder-5 diagnostic criteria for ADHD and were treated with methylphenidate or atomoxetine. The methylphenidate formulations included immediate release (IR), extended release (ER), and osmotic-controlled release oral delivery system (OROS). Patients and parents reported the average number of days per week the medication was taken. Efficacy was assessed using the ADHD Rating Scale. Satisfaction with medication scale (SAMS)-parent report form and SAMS-self-report form were used to evaluate parents' and patients' satisfaction, respectively. Results: Patients and parents were more satisfied with methylphenidate than with atomoxetine. There were no significant differences in the compliance with and efficacy of methylphenidate and atomoxetine. Compliance with methylphenidate IR and ER was markedly lower than that with OROS methylphenidate or atomoxetine. Conclusion: Methylphenidate OROS formulation can be considered a suitable option given its high rates of compliance, satisfaction, and efficacy.
The surface of albumin microspheres was modified with methotrexate(MTX) by using 1,3-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide (DCC). Surface-modified albumin microspheres entrapping no MTX (SAMS), free MTX (SAMSF) and MTX-bovine serum albumin(BSA) conjugates(SAMSC) were prepared. The organ-targeting ability of free $[^3H]MTX,\;[^3H]MTX-BSA$ conjugate and the above microspheres was evaluated after i.v. administration of the preparations, equivalent to 150 nCi via the tail vein of mice. The total radioactivity in the lung increased immediately in a few minutes after i.v. injection of the microspheres, and then declined for the period of 3-4 weeks. However, the radioactivity in the liver, spleen and kidney increased slowly during the rapid decrease in radioactivity in the lung. This suggested that the microspheres could be entrapped rapidly in the lung through mechanical filtration because of their large size and slowly redistributed to the liver, spleen and kidney due to either the microspheres being degraded enough for the size to allow passage through the capillary beds of the lung and/or the release of $[^3H]MTX\;or\;[^3H]MTX-BSA$ conjugates from the microspheres. The amount of $60{sim}70%$ of the dose was targeted to the liver after the i.v. injection of SAMS, SAMSF and SAMSC, and the values of $(R_e\;^*\;_{e)liver}$ from the microspheres were $5{\sim}7$ compared to free MTX. This suggested that the liver-targeting ability from surface-modified albumin microspheres could be $5{\sim}7$ times as that of free MTX. The liver-targeted drug was accumulated in the Kupffer cells at the initial stage, thereafter the drug in the Kupffer cell was slowly transferred into the hepatocytes. The value of AUQ for liver from SAMS was higher than that from SAMSF, but much lower than that from SAMSC. This suggest that MTX bound to their surface could be eliminated slower than the entrapped free MTX, and faster than the entrapped MTX-BSA conjugates. This is consistent with the in vitro release rates order in the presence of a proteolytic enzyme. Also, surface-modified MTX was scarcely released in the absence of a proteolytic enzyme. Therefore, the surface-modified MTX nay be released (or eliminated) rapidly from SAMSC at the target site, and thereafter MTX may be released (or eliminated) slowly from the entrapped MTX-BSA conjugates in SAMSC for a long period.
Water supply reliability for a dam is defined with a concept of probabilistic reliability. An evaluation procedure of the water supply reliability is shown with an analysis of long term firm yield reliability. The water supply reliabilities of Soyanggang Dam and Chungju Dam were evaluated. To evaluate the water supply reliability, forty one sets of monthly runoff series were generated by SAMS-2000. HEC-5 model was applied to the reservoir simulation to compute the firm yield from a monthly data of time series. The water supply reliability of the firm yield from the design runoff data of Soyanggang Dam is evaluated by 80.5 % for a planning period of 50 years. The water supply reliability of the firm yield from the historic runoff after the dam construction is evaluated by 53.7 %. The firm yield from the design runoff is 1.491 billion $m^3$/yr and the firm yield from the historic runoff is 1.585 billion $m^3$/yr. If the target draft Is 1.585 billion $m^3$/yr, additional water of 0.094 billion $m^3$ could be supplied every year with its risk. From the similar procedures, the firm yield from the design runoff of Chungju Dam is evaluated 3.377 billion $m^3$/yr and the firm yield from the historic runoff is 2.960 billion $m^3$/yr. If the target draft is 3.377 billion $m^3$/yr, water supply insufficiency occurs for all the sets of time series generated. It may result from overestimation of the spring runoff used for design. The procedure shown can be a more objective method to evaluate water supply reliability of a dam.

Titanium oxide (TiO2) thin films have valuable properties such as a high refractive index, excellent transmittance in the visible and near-IR frequency, and high chemical stability. Therefore it is extensively used in anti-reflection coating, sensor, and photocatalysis as electrical and optical applications. Specially, TiO2 have a high dielectric constant of 180 along the c axis and 90 along the a axis, so it is highlighted in fabricating dielectric capacitors in micro electronic devices. A variety of methods have been used to produce patterned self-assembled monolayers (SAMs), including microcontact printing ($\mu$CP), UV-photolithotgraphy, e-beam lithography, scanned-probe based micro-machining, and atom-lithography. Above all, thin film fabrication on $\mu$CP modified surface is a potentially low-cost, high-throughput method, because it does not require expensive photolithographic equipment, and it produce micrometer scale patterns in thin film materials. The patterned SAMs were used as thin resists, to transfer patterns onto thin films either by chemical etching or by selective deposition. In this study, we deposited TiO2 thin films on Si (1000 substrateds using titanium (IV) isopropoxide ([Ti(O(C3H7)4)] ; TIP as a single molecular precursor at deposition temperature in the range of 300-$700^{\circ}C$ without any carrier and bubbler gas. Crack-free, highly oriented TiO2 polycrystalline thin films with anatase phase and stoichimetric ratio of Ti and O were successfully deposited on Si(100) at temperature as low as 50$0^{\circ}C$. XRD and TED data showed that below 50$0^{\circ}C$, the TiO2 thin films were dominantly grown on Si(100) surfaces in the [211] direction, whereas with increasing the deposition temperature to $700^{\circ}C$, the main films growth direction was changed to be [200]. Two distinct growth behaviors were observed from the Arhenius plots. In addition to deposition of THe TiO2 thin films on Si(100) substrates, patterning of TiO2 thin films was also performed at grown temperature in the range of 300-50$0^{\circ}C$ by MOCVD onto the Si(100) substrates of which surface was modified by organic thin film template. The organic thin film of SAm is obtained by the $\mu$CP method. Alpha-step profile and optical microscope images showed that the boundaries between SAMs areas and selectively deposited TiO2 thin film areas are very definite and sharp. Capacitance - Voltage measurements made on TiO2 films gave a dielectric constant of 29, suggesting a possibility of electronic material applications.
Climate change has been intensifying drought frequency and severity. Such prolonged droughts reduce reservoir levels, thereby exacerbating drought impacts. While previous studies have focused on optimizing reservoir operations using historical data to mitigate these impacts, their scope is limited to analyzing past events, highlighting the need for predictive methods for future droughts. This research introduces a novel approach for predicting minimum inflow at the Seomjingang dam which has experienced significant droughts. This study utilized the Stochastic Analysis Modeling and Simulation (SAMS) 2007 to generate inflow sequences for the same period of observed inflow. Then we simulate reservoir operations to assess firm yield and predict minimum inflow through synthetic inflow analysis. Minimum inflow is defined as the inflow where firm yield is less than 95% of the synthetic inflow in many sequences during periods matching observed inflow. The results for each case indicated the firm yield for the minimum inflow is on average 9.44 m3/s, approximately 1.07 m3/s lower than the observed inflow's firm yield of 10.51 m3/s. The minimum inflow estimation can inform reservoir operation standards, facilitate multi-reservoir system reviews, and assess supplementary capabilities. Estimating minimum inflow emerges as an effective strategy for enhancing water supply reliability and mitigating shortages.
A simple and rapid method is described for extending the 5'- or 3'-end genomic sequence of a known partial sequence by only a single round of PCR. This method involves digesting and ligating genomic and plasmid DNAs, and amplifying the 5'-upstream or 3'-end downstream sequence of the known DNA sequence, using two primers, one gene specific and the other plasmid specific. A single round of PCR amplification is sufficient to produce gene-specific bands detectable in gels. By using this approach, 5'-end genomic sequence of the D-amoeba sams gene was extended.

In this paper, investigations of the SAMs(self-assembled monolayers) of a thiol-fuctionalized viologen derivatives, $V_8SH$ and $SH_8V_8SH$, where, V is N,N'-dialkylbipyridinium (i.e. a viologen group), have been carried out by elucidate voltammetry date. The redox reactions are highly reversible and can be cycled many times without significant side reaction, which has been known as a nano-gram order mass detector through resonant frequency change self-assembly process of the viologen has been investigated with $QCM({\Delta}F)$. The assembling process of the $V_8SH$ and $SH_8V_8SH$ monolayers can be finished completely in about 1 hour. The measured frequency shift for $V_8SH$ and $SH_8V_8SH$ were about 351 and 172 Hz, respectively. From these values, we calculated that the mass adsorbed $V_8SH$ and $SH_8V_8SH$ were about 375 and 183 ng. We believe that this mass loss is caused by the simultaneous loss of the anions present within the monolayer for charge compensation of the viologen dications and some solvent.
It is possble to study charge transfer property which is caused by height variation because we can see the organic materials barrier height and STM tip by organic materials energy band gap. Here, we investigated the negative differential resistance(NDR) and charge transfer property of self-assembled 4,4-Di(ethynylphenyl)-2'-nitro-1-(thioacetyl)benzene, which has been well known as a conducting molecule. Self-assembly monolayers(SAMs) were prepared on Au(111), which had been thermally deposited onto pre-treatment($H_{2}SO_{4}:H_{2}O_{2}$=3:1) Si. The Au substrate was exposed to a 1 mM/l solution of 1-dodecanethiol in ethanol for 24 hours to form a monolayer. After thorough rinsing the sample, it was exposed to a $0.1{\mu}M/1$ solution of 4,4-Di(ethynylphenyl)-2'-nitro-1-(thioacetyl)benzene in dimethylformamide(DMF) for 30 min and kept in the dark during immersion to avoid photo-oxidation. After the assembly, the samples were removed from the solutions, rinsed thoroughly with methanol, acetone, and $CH_{2}Cl_{2}$, and finally blown dry with $N_2$. Under these conditions, we measured electrical properties of self-assembly monolayers(SAMs) using ultra high vacuum scanning tunneling microscopy(UHV-STM). The applied voltages were from -1.50 V to -1.20 V with 298 K temperature. The vacuum condition is $6{\times}10^{-8}$ Torr. As a result, we found that NDR and charge transfer property by a little change of height when the voltage is applied between STM tip and electrode.
