  • Selective removal of NOx by binary oxide systems of Ba-Cu and Mn-Zr was investigated. These mixed oxides were effective in removing NOx at $400^{\circ}C$ by absorption in or on the solid as nitrate. The reaction was investigated by oxidation of NO which was promoted in the presence of $O_2$ on Mn or Cu sites. Then, the oxidized species were stored in the solid as nitrate ions on Ba or Zr sites.

압전 바이몰프 액츄에이터의 진동에 따른 자가 발전특성 (Self Power Generation from Vibration using Piezoelectric Bimorph Actuator)

  • This paper presents the self power generation from vibration using the piezoelectric bimorph actuator. The piezoelectric bimorph actuator was well developed with PZT-PNN-Fe piezoelectric ceramics. As the applied voltage was increased, a linear change of displacement was obtained with a relatively high ratio of 12.53 um/V for the bimorph actuator. Moreover, when the motor's rotational speed was 2000 rpm, the bimorph actuator, which has a resonance frequency of 68 Hz, exhibited the most efficient generation voltage of 10.4 V. This bimorph actuator could make the LED, emitting 60 mW, working successfully. Therefore, it is anticipated that the bimorph actuator will be useful as a power source for the next-generation electronic devices.

  • 본 연구에서는 유전 손실이 낮고, 고분자(LCP)의 유전율을 높이기 위하여 (100-x)LCP(polymer)-xNPO(ceramic) 복합체 (x= 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50)의 유전 특성 및 미세구조를 연구하였다. LCP와 ceramic filler(NPO)는 Brabender Mixer를 사용하여 $300^{\circ}C$에서 혼합한 후, Hot press 사용하여 $300^{\circ}C$, 7ton 성형 압력으로 pellet 형태 $(2.5cm\times2.5cm\times0.1cm)$로 제조 하였다. LCP-NPO 복합 소재를 SEM을 통해 미세구조를 관찰하였고, 복합체의 유전 특성을 조사하였다.

  • Carbon-nitrogen (CN) nanofibers have been produced using a water cooled hot isostatic pressure (HIP) apparatus. The CN nanofibers were grown in random with the diameter of about 100-150nm and length over $10{\mu}m$. Emission properties of CN nanofibers were investigated for spacing, between anode and cathode, variation. Then turn-on fields about $1.4V/{\mu}m$. The time reliability and light emission test were carried out for above 100 hours. We suggest that CN nanofibers can be possibly applied to high brightness flat lamp because of low turn-on field and time reliability.

Zn Vacancy Ordering in $Ba (Zn_{1/3}Ta_{2/3})O_3$ Ceramics

  • New type of ordering along 1110] direction was found In BZT sintered at $1400^{\circ}C$ for 90 hours by using X-ray diffraction analysis and high resolution transmission electron microscopy. The wavelength of the modulated structure was 0.9 nm which is three times larger than the interplanar distance of (110) plane. New type of ordering is considered to be formed as a result of Zn vancacy ordering and new structural model was proposed. The computer simulated electron diffraction and the structural images are in good agreement with those obtained by experiments.

Preparation and Electrochemical Properties of Carbon Cryogel for Supercapacitor

  • Electrochemical properties of carbon cryogel electrode for the application of composite electrode materials mixed with metal oxide in supercapacitor have been studied. Carbon cryogels were synthesized by sol-gel polycondensation of resorcinol with form aldehyde, followed by a freeze drying, and then pyrolysis in an inert atmosphere. Physical properties of carbon cryogel were characterized by BET, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). It is found that carbon cryogel is amorphous material. The electrochemical properties of carbon cryogel were measured by cyclic voltammetry as a function of concentration of liquid electrolyte, galvanostatic charge-discharge with different scan rates and electrochemical impedance measurements. The result of cyclic voltammetry indicated that the specific capacitance value of a carbon cryogel electrode was approximately 150.2 F/g (at 5 mV/s in 6M KOH electrolyte).

  • Thin epilayer structures of GaAs/AlAs/InGaAs, grown by Molecular Beam Epitaxy, were investigated by high resolution transmission electron microscopy, Image in the [110] zone axis was taken and compared with the calculated images. The supercell structure which contains GaAs, AlAs and InGaAs layers was designed and was employed in the image calculation with MacTempas computer program. Good agreement was shown between experimental image and a set of calculated images with varying defocus and sample thickness.
