  • In this work we measured electron temperature and electron density of a microplasma by optical emission spectroscopy. The plasma is generated from a small discharge gap of a microwave parallel stripline resonator (MPSR) in Helium at atmospheric pressure. The microwave power supplied for this plasma source from 0.5 to 5 watts at a frequency close to 800 MHz. The electron temperature and electron density were estimated through Collisional-radiative model combined with Corona-equilibrium model. The results show that the electron density and temperature of this plasma in the case small discharge gap width are higher than that in larger gap width. The diagnostic techniques and associated challenges will be presented and discussed.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a website-based patient safety culture promotion program that could be implemented by nurses in real work scenarios. Methods: This study was a methodological study. A patient safety culture promotion program, called 'Safe Culture, Save Patients' was developed, based on structuration theory and performance engineering approaches. Results: This program was delivered in the form of a website containing contents about changes in the work environment, information about accidents and the improvement process details, as well as a program for motivation. The program was tested about the validity on contents and usability - a panel of 14 experts confirmed its validity using the contents validity index (CVI), with a resulting S-CVI of .980. Usability was evaluated by 11 nurses, which allowed finalize the program. Conclusion: The 'Safe Culture, Save Patients' program was a valid program that could be applied in clinical practice immediately. The results of this study warrant further studies to evaluate the effects of this patient safety culture promotion program.

  • Various power supply noise sources in a system integrated circuit degrade the performance of a low dropout (LDO) regulator. In this paper, a capacitor-less low dropout regulator for enhanced power supply rejection is proposed to provide good power supply rejection (PSR) performance. The proposed scheme is implemented by an additional capacitor at a gate node of a pass transistor. Simulation results show that the PSR performance of the proposed LDO regulator depends on the capacitance value at the gate node of the pass transistor, that it can be maximized, and that it outperforms a conventional LDO regulator.

  • Glucosyltransferase of Streptococcus mutans NCTC 10449 was purified and characterized. It relates with production of insoluble glucan in dental caries. The molecular weight was estimated to be 152.000. The optimum pH and temperature was 6.5 and $35^{\circ}C$. respectively. The enzyme was stable in alkaline pH. The Michaelis constants of the enzyme for releasing of fructose were 48 mM. Hydrolysis rate of insolut~le glucan by tlextranase was higher in S. mutuns NCTC 10449 than that of strains isolated from saliva.

  • In a weak grid condition, the precise grid impedance estimation is essential to guaranteeing the high performance current control and power transfer for a grid-connected inverter. This study proposes a precise estimation method for grid impedance by PQ variations by employing the variation method of reference currents. The operation principle of grid impedance estimation is fully presented, and the negative impact of the phase locked loop is analyzed. Estimation error by a synchronization angle in the park's transformation using the phase locked loop is derived. As a result, the variation method of reference currents for accurate estimation is introduced. The validation of the proposed method is verified through several simulation results and experiments based on a 2-kW voltage source inverter prototype.

  • Recent studies on automatic parking have actively adopted the technology developed for mobile robots. Among them, the path planning scheme plans a route for a vehicle to reach a target parking position while satisfying the kinematic constraints of the vehicle. However, previous methods require a large amount of computation and/or cannot be easily applied to different environmental conditions. Therefore, there is a need for a path planning scheme that is fast, efficient, and versatile. In this study, we use a multi-dimensional path grid map to solve the above problem. This multi-dimensional path grid map contains a route which has taken a vehicle's kinematic constraints into account; it can be used with the $A^*$ algorithm to plan an efficient path. The proposed method was verified using Prescan which is a simulation program based on MATLAB. It is shown that the proposed scheme can successfully be applied to both parallel and vertical parking in an efficient manner.

  • Four feather mite species, Grallobia fulicae (Trouessart, 1885), Grallobia gallinulae Gaud, 1968, Grallolichus proctogamus (Trouessart, 1885) and Megniniella gallinulae (Buchholz, 1869), previously unrecorded in South Korea are reported. Specimens of Grallobia fulicae and Grallolichus proctogamus were collected from the eurasian coot, Fulica atra in Cheongju-si. Grallobia gallinulae and M. gallinulae were found on the common moorhen, Gallinula chloropus in Yesan-gun. The genera Grallobia Hull, 1934, Grallolichus Gaud, 1960 and Megniniella Gaud, 1958 are new records for South Korea. Here, we provide illustrations and morphological descriptions of these four feather mite species as well as the partial sequences of the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) as DNA barcodes.

  • This paper investigates the effect of the conducted EMI Electromagnetic Interference and the switching loss which occurs from the switching devices in the switching period of the unipolar and limited unipolar switching circuits. The three main sources of conducted EMI and switching loss in the unipolar and limited unipolar switching circuit come from the switching devices, the number of switching times in the switching period and their switching waveform. In this paper, these three parameters are used to determine the conducted EMI which generated from the unipolar and limited unipolar switching circuits and to improve the limited unipolar switching circuit which uses the power MOSFET´s as the switching devices. The significant reduction of Ire conducted EMI ...
