Resonance and Instability of Blade-Shaft Coupled Bending Vibrations with In-plane Blade Vibration

  • As a major component of a power plant, a turbine generator must have sufficient reliability. Longer blades have lower natural frequency, thereby requiring that the design of the shaft and blade takes into account the coupling of the blade vibration mode, nodal diameter k=0 and k=1 with vibration of the shaft. The present work analyzes the coupling of the translation motion of the shaft with in-plane vibration of the blades with k=1 modes. At a rotational speed ${\Omega}_1=|{\omega}_s-{\omega}_b|$, the resonance of the blades has a relatively large amplitude. A violent coupled resonance was observed at a rotational speed ${\Omega}_2=|{\omega}_s+{\omega}_b|$. Resonance in blade vibration at ${\Omega}_1=|{\omega}_s-{\omega}_b|$ was experimentally confirmed.

위성 DMB와 ITS 서비스 수신을 위한 단일 급전 이중 대역 원형 패치 안테나 설계 (Design of a Single-Feed Dual-Band Circular Antenna for Reception of S-DMB and ITS Services)

  • 본 논문에서는 단일 급전을 이용하여 위성 DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting)와 ITS(Intelligent Transport Systems) 서비스를 수신할 수 있는 이중 대역 원형 패치 안테나의 구조를 제안하고, 실제 제작을 통하여 성능을 확인하였다. 제작한 이중 대역 안테나는 위성 DMB 대역과 ITS 대역에서 각각 90 MHz와 180 MHz의 -10 dB 대역폭을 갖고, 최소 반사 손실은 약 -35 dB와 -18 dB로 측정되었는데, 이는 시뮬레이션 결과와 잘 일치하였다. 그리고, 위성 DMB와 ITS 대역의 안테나 이득은 각각 2.3 dBi와 2.7 dBi를 얻었다.

  • 대부분의 IPS(Indoor Positioning System)에서는 비콘과 같은 태그로부터 특정 신호를 여러 수신기에 보냄으로써 사용자의 위치를 특정하고 동선을 파악한다. 이러한 방식은 창고, 공장, 병원 등 유동인구가 제한적인 곳에서 매우 효율적으로 활용되지만, 대형 마켓 및 복합쇼핑몰과 같은 상업 시설에서는 고객 각자에게 태그를 부착해야 하므로 적용하기가 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 태그를 사용하지 않고도 외부 센서 노드 그리드를 활용하여 유동인구의 이동 추이를 파악하는 시스템을 제안한다. 각 센서 노드는 초음파센서와 적외선센서를 조합하여 사람들의 존재 여부와 세부형태를 모두 모니터링할 수 있으며, 수집한 데이터를 무선송신을 통해 메인 서버에 보냄으로써 간편하게 시스템을 유지 및 보수할 수 있도록 하였다. FPGA 보드를 활용하여 센서 노드 동작을 검증하였으며, 초소형 센서 노드를 구성하기 위해 180nm 공정으로 VLSI 회로를 설계하였다.

  • 2 axis gimbals systems are extensively used in various tracking devices for attaining the system's objective. Designers are sometimes passing over the dynamic characteristics of system in vibrating condition In this paper, 2 axis gimbals systems including interface elements is modeled with finite elements. To verify this model, the finite element model is refined by using the experimental model data. The refined model is simulated with I-DEAS and MSC.NATRAN's FRF(Frequency response Function) and RRA(Random vibration Response Analysis) function to get dynamic characteristics of 2 axis gimbals system.

Detecting A Crypto-mining Malware By Deep Learning Analysis

  • Crypto-mining malware (known as crypto-jacking) is a novel cyber-attack that exploits the victim's computing resources such as CPU and GPU to generate illegal cryptocurrency. The attacker get benefit from crypto-jacking by using someone else's mining hardware and their electricity power. This research focused on the possibility of detecting the potential crypto-mining malware in an environment by analyzing both static and dynamic approaches of deep learning. The Program Executable (PE) files were utilized with deep learning methods which are Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM). The finding revealed that LTSM outperformed both SVM and RF in static and dynamic approaches with percentage of 98% and 96%, respectively. Future studies will focus on detecting the malware using larger dataset to have more accurate and realistic results.

  • Fuzzy control systems depend on a number of parameters such as the shape or magnitude of the fuzzy membership functions, etc. Conventional fuzzy reasoning method can not be easily applied to the multi-input multi-output(MIMO) system due to the large number of rules in the rule base. Recently Z. Cao et al have proposed a New Fuzzy Reasoning Method(NFRM) which turned out to be superior to Zadeh's FRM. We have extended the NFRM to handle the MIMO system. However, it is difficult to choose a proper relation matrix of the NFRM. Therefore, we have modified the evolution strategy(ES), which is one of the optimization algorithms, to do efficiently the tuning operation for the extended NFRM. Finally we applied the extended NFRM with the modified ES to tracking control of robot manipulator.

  • In engineering design environment it is hard to link design data and systems because the types of them are disparate. Therefore, the importance of metadata has increased. Some researches have been executed to develop metadata. But they cannot interact with other metadata and are difficult to extend. The purpose of this paper is to develop a common document structure which represents the general information of mechanical part assembly using XML, and to use it as base documents in order to integrate design data and systems. It is composed of part, assembly and user documents. Part document represents the information of a part independently to part type. Assembly document represents the location of constituent part documents. User document represents user's information. Common documents can be used as a broker between design data and systems, and it can improve the interpretability and reusability of document. We applied the developed common document structure to 2-stage spur gear drive.

  • A nonlinear navigation filter for biomimetic robot using analytic approximation of mean and covariance of state variable is proposed. The approximations are performed at the time update step in the filter structure. The mean is approximated to the 3rd order of Taylor's series expansion of true mean and the covariance is approximated to the 3rd order either. The famous EKF is a nonlinear filtering method approximating the mean to 1st order and the covariance to the 3rd order. The UKF approximate them to the higher orders by numerical method. The proposed method derived a analytical approximation of them for navigation system and therefore don't need so called sigma point transformation in UKF. The simulation results show that the proposed method can be a good alternative of UKF in the systems which require less computational burden.

  • When it essentially designs and develops the Railway Signal System H/W and S/W, It requires base to build an environment which the safety of the complete system can be certified objectively. It is not rational choice to progress the safety certification of each of the subsystems to ensure reliability from an economic point of view. Furthermore, Even though H/W and S/W already certificated the safety, In case of changing subsystem to comprise relevant system, The safety certification of its parts newly must proceed. This study to solve these problems covers safety H/W platform which is commonly applicable to composition plan at Ground railway signaling systems such as CBTC, ETCS, CBI and safety-based modeling approach with S/W development tools (SCADE) and certificated O/S (Pike) to build the development environment. In addition, When it designs and develops safety S/W, This study explains structure to separate the data section which for logical operations and logical operations itself and provides guideline to support the certification through minimizing changes to the software.
