  • The implication of cervical pain associated with an elongated styloid process is credited to W.W.Eagle. Even though there were earlier reports of ossification of the stylohyoid ligament, findings in more than 200 cases in 1980s and 1940s resulted in the naming of a clinical syndrome that continues to bear his name, Eagle's syndrome. It is also sometimes called styloid process neuralgia or elongated styloid process syndrome is more common than generally recognized. The clinical symptoms range from a dull nagging pain with occasional radiation to ear, or to a foreign body sensation. Dysphagia and odynophagia may also occur. We successfully treated one case by removal of the elongated styloid process under the general anesthesia and C2 ganglion block. We then reported the clinical feature of one case of the Eagle's syndrome and further researched with the foreign literature.

  • The role of S/W in weapon systems has been developed with various functions and complex structures. As the weapon system S/W is directly related to quick and accurate decision making of users, more accurate evaluation is required during the training. However, situation awareness of weapon system S/W users has only been assessed qualitatively such as by simple test or qualitative judgement. Therefore, this study suggests the 'Cognition Ratio' concept which represents the quantitative of users by combining ACT-R cognitive architecture to SA (Situation Awareness) and Fitts' Law based on the theory of cognitive engineering. The cognition ratio is a ratio of cognition among the whole cognitive behavior process including perception and psychomotor. Moreover, this study provides a systematic assessment process of situation awareness that will be applicable to various weapon system S/W for effective assessment.

  • This paper constructs a data base to create the Hull lines prior to piece manufacture and nesting steps with a personal computer using the data of created as the advanced software, TRIBON. The lines are plotted smoohtly, which are called the spline. The S/W is excellentlt estimated on the ptrcision among shipping exclusive S/W, which are currentlyused So, the S/W is mainly used as as shipping CAD program. High-cost H/W and high-performance S/W(TRIBON etc.) sre used with the bases of technique and capital power in the big shipbuilding yard; but small but small and medium-sized shipbuilding yard and related companycan't purchase dueto the high-cost product. To bring upthe small and medium sized shipbuilding yard lacking little competitive power, the data base S/W is joined with the CADRA of graphic S/W and is developed to create the Hull lines to be needed on as automatic cutting process usiing the personal computer.

  • In general, Digital Photogrammetry is based on independent workstation system, which is costly and has complex process. In this research, a new approach method regarding Digital Photogrammetry procedure is suggested using Web Processing Service, which is a GIS standard proposed by Open Geospatial Consortium. For the experiment, many Generic Processes were defined through WPS profiling procedure which defines standard unit for Photogrammetry, and with the defined process each server and client S/W module was implemented based on WPS standards. In this paper, many users can be expected to share and reuse unit process in WPS server through the web.
