발청 염화물이온 임계값 평가를 위한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study to Evaluate the Critical Value of Chloride Ions on Rust)

  • To prevent the rusting of steel, a variety of finishing materials has been applied. When steel is exposed to an extreme chloride environment, however, the thermal performance and aging of the finishing materials cause the material to lose its rust protective performance. In this study, an accelerated corrosion test was performed on five different finishing materials for steel, to determine the critical values of corrosion. As the result, the critical value of corrosion was found with no coat between 0.58mg/d㎡ and 0.73mg/d㎡, with urethane coat between 7.89mg/d㎡~8.46mg/d㎡, with one-layered red lead coat between 57.95mg/d㎡ and 69.48mg/d㎡, and with staleness201 between 80.73mg/d㎡ and 89.35mg/d㎡.

A Research on Stray-Current Corrosion Mechanism of High Voltage Cable Connector on Electrification Vehicles

  • Considering the tendency of development of electrification vehicles, development and verification of new evaluation technology is needed because of new technology applications. Recently, as the battery package is set outdoors of an electric vehicle, such vehicles are exposed to corrosive environments. Among major components connected to the battery package, rust prevention of high-voltage cables and connectors is considered the most important issue. For example, if corrosion of high voltage cable connectors occurs, the corrosion durability assessment of using an electric vehicle will be different from general environmental corrosion phenomena. The purpose of this study is to investigate the corrosion mechanism of high voltage cable connectors of an electric vehicle under various driving environments (road surface vibration, corrosion environment, current conduction by stray current, etc.) and develop an optimal rust prevention solution. To improve our parts test method, we have proposed a realistic test method to reproduce actual electric vehicle corrosion issues based on the principle test.

다양한 코팅 방법에 따른 전조한 강 볼트의 내부식성 (1) (Corrosion Resistance of the Roll Formed Steel Bolts with the Various Types of Coating Methods (1))

  • Corrosion resistance is one of the essential properties required in steel bolts. The various types of coatings are used to improve the corrosion resistance of steel bolts. But, roll formed, subsequently Zn alloy electrodeposited and top coated steel bolt easily takes place the white storage stain or white rust under high humidity condition. To investigate the corrosion resistance of roll formed and subsequently the various types of coated steel bolts, their polarization curves were measured by potentio-dynamic tester in this study. Based on the measured polarization curves, the more times of chromate and top coating on roll formed steel bolt, the higher corrosion resistance was shown. The roll formed steel bolt, which was Zn-Ni electro-deposited, two times chromated, one time inorganic top coated, one time organic top coated and annealed, showed the best corrosion resistance.

  • Image processing has been utilized for assessment of infrastructure surface coating conditions for years. However, there is no robust method to overcome the non-uniform illumination problem to date. Therefore, this paper aims to deal with non-uniform illumination problems for bridge coating assessment and to achieve automated rust intensity recognition. This paper starts with selection of the best color configuration for non-uniformly illuminated rust image segmentation. The adaptive-network-based fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) is adopted as the framework to develop the new model, the box-and-ellipse-based neuro-fuzzy approach (BENFA). Finally, the performance of BENFA is compared to the Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) method, which is often used in image recognition, to show the advantage and robustness of BENFA.

ADAPTABLE ELLIPSE METHOD FOR BRIDGE COATING DEFECT RECOGNITION

  • Image processing has been applied to steel bridge defect recognition since 1990s. Compare to human visual inspection, image processing provides a more objective and accurate way of assessment. Since shade and shadow may sometimes occur when taking bridge coating images, non-uniform illumination problems should be considered. By means of color image processing, this paper aims to mitigate the illumination effect for bridge coating assessment. Furthermore, the adaptable ellipse method (AEM) is proposed to recognize mild rust colors. Finally, AEM will be compared to the K-Means algorithm, a popular recognition method, to show its advantage.

  • 탈지과정을 거친 냉연 강판을 순수로 세정하는 과정에서 발생하는 rust와 이러한 rust 발생을 방지하기 위하여 0.05%(wt) $Na_5P_3O_{10}$ 용액으로 표면처리한 냉연 강판의 표면은 X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy(XPS) 방법으로 비교 분석하였다. Rust가 발생한 냉연 강판의 표면은 $Fe_2O_3$ 및 FeO, 그리고 $Fe(OH)_3$등으로 구성되는 산화층이 $1500{\AA}$정도의 두께로 존재함을 알 수 있었고, 한편 $Na_5P_3O_{10}$ 용액으로 표면처리한 냉연 강판의 표면은 $60{\AA}$정도의 인산염 피막이 얇은 Fe 산화층 위에 존재함으로써 보호 피막의 역할을 한다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • 국립중앙박물관 소장 고려시대 동전 25점을 보존처리 하였다. 대상동전은 '동국중보', '동국통보', '해동통보', '해동중보', '삼한중보' 등 5종이다. 유물에 나쁜 영향을 줄 수 있는 염화물을 모두 제거하면 동전의 글자 및 형태가 훼손될 우려가 있어 부분적으로만 제거하였다. 현재까지 동국통보의 명문서체는 6종류 이상으로 알려져 있는데, X-Ray사진을 이용해서 판독한 결과 본 연구에서는 3종류의 명문을 확인하였다. 동전의 녹제거 과정에서 입수한 청동녹은 납동위원소비분석을 통해 동전의 원료 산지를 추정하였다. 최근에는 청동녹에 의한 여러 가지 과학분석이 이루어지고 있는 추세이다.

Uromyces veratri에 의한 박새녹병 (Rust of Veratrum patulum Caused by Uromyces veratri)

  • 2005년 6월 덕유산국립공원 설천봉 부근에서 박새의 잎에 녹병이 심하게 발생하였다. 처음에는 잎에 작은 황색 또는 황록색의 작은 반점을 형성하며, 병이 진점됨에 따라 표피가 터지면서 병반부에서 밤갈색의 많은 여름포자가 형성되었다. 박새녹병의 여름포자는 구형 또는 타원형이고 황갈색을 띠며, 크기는 $19{\sim}27{\times}17{\sim}24\;{\mu}m$ 정도이다. 겨울포자는 난형 또는 타원형이고 갈색을 띠며, 크기는 $19{\sim}36{\times}15{\sim}21\;{\mu}m$ 정도이다. 겨울포자의 윗부분은 대부분 둥글고 투명한 원뿔모양의 돌기가 있으며, 아랫부분은 둥글거나 가늘어진다. 또한 포자병은 거의 탈락하지 않고, 투명하며, 길이는 $38\;{\mu}m$에 이른다. 이 녹병균의 균학적 특징과 기주특이성을 조사한 결과 Uromyces veratri Schroeter로 동정하였으며, 이 녹병균에 의한 박새의 병을 박새녹병으로 명명하고자 한다.
