  • The purpose of this study is to develop a culture and leisure resources scale and examine the validity of the scale. The culture and Leisure resources scale was developed and identified its validity by exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and correlation analysis. The culture and leisure resources scale consisted of four factors, which were 'personal resources', 'support staff resources', 'facility resources', and 'program resources'. Those four factors indicated the reasonable fit indices from confirmatory factor analysis. In addition, this scale showed convergent validity with the satisfaction of cultural and leisure environment and the satisfaction of one's cultural and leisure life. The result of scale score comparison between rural and urban areas showed that culture and leisure resources in rural areas were less abundant than those in urban areas. Furthermore, while the variables which affected the satisfaction of urban residents' were mainly 'personal resources', the variables in case of rural residents' were mainly 'program resources' and 'facility Resources'. The culture and leisure resources scale can be used for policymakers practicably to evaluate regional level of culture and leisure resources, to compare between regions and to find policy priorities for improving the quality of leisure, especially for disadvantaged areas with less resources.

Moreover, it has been found that the types of services firstly needed to offer information of rural amenity resources include 'searching the information around me(where I am)', 'wayfinding such as navigation', 'information sharing function with messenger and SNS, etc', 'taking and editing photography', 'searching information of rural villages about festivals, events, etc'. These are the items that can be utilized in developing application services needed by information services of rural amenity resources. It is expected that the future real-time smart phone services for rural amenity resources will be able to reinforce the competitiveness of rural tourism by giving urban dwellers the chance to utilize the customized information whenever they want.

  • This study focused on the trends in recognising an economic concern as the most difficult problem in the farm household that was categorised as a full-time farm household or a part-time household according to income structure from agricultural activity. Log-linear models were suggested to compare the change of recognising an economic problem between year 2003 and 2005. As a result, there was no significant difference in recognising an economic problem between full-time farm household and part-time farm household both in 2003 ($x^2$=0.04;p=0.84) and in 2005 ($x^2$=1.08; p=0.30). It was revealed, however, that full-time farm household had increasingly recognised an economic problem over years. Log-linear models showed that full-time farm households tended to recognise the economic problem 1.11 times as much as part-time farm households in 2005, compared to 0.97 times in 2003.
