  • Recently, the study for filling imbalance in thermoplastic polymer has gradually been increased. However, it is hard to find the researches for filling imbalance of thermoplastic elastomer(TPE). The experiment of filling imbalance was conducted for thermoplastic vulcanize(TPV) and PP, ABS polymers in the mold with un-geometrically balanced runner system(Branch Type Runner System). In this experiment, the effects of the melt temperature, injection pressure and injection speed on the filling imbalance were investigated.

훼밀리 몰드 성형에서 러너밸런스 결정을 위한 유동해석 (Flow Analysis to Determine Runner Balance in Family Injection Molding)

  • Family injection molding of plastic is widely used to enhance productivity. Runners for molded products in fami-ly injection molding have to be balanced so that each of the producs is filled completely at the same time,. In this study computer simulations were performed to determine balanced circular section runners in family injection molding with two cavities where each of he cavity shapes is like a case. It was found from the computer simula-tions that runner balance could be fulfilled only by modifying runner diameters. But in order to get more quality molded products other process factors such as flow length flow resistance shapes of products and etc, should be taken in to consideration for the design of a family injection molding process.

NSGA-II를 이용한 마이크로 프로펠러 수차 블레이드 최적화 (Optimization of Micro Hydro Propeller Turbine blade using NSGA-II)

  • In addition to the development of micro hydro turbine, the challenge in micro hydro turbine design as sustainable hydro devices is focused on the optimization of turbine runner blade which have decisive effect on the turbine performance to reach higher efficiency. A multi-objective optimization method to optimize the performance of runner blade of propeller turbine for micro turbine has been studied. For the initial design of planar blade cascade, singularity distribution method and the combination of the Bezier curve parametric technology is used. A non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm II(NSGA II) is developed based on the multi-objective optimization design method. The comparision with model test show that the blade charachteristics is optimized by NSGA-II has a good efficiency and load distribution. From model test and scale up calculation, the maximum prototype efficiency of the runner blade reaches as high as 90.87%.

  • In this paper, in order to improve the formability and quality of the injection molded parts in the molds for molding the motorcycle rear cowl injection molded parts with different volumes at the same time, the flow of the molded parts is changed through the injection molding CAE analysis by changing the gate position, runner size and position. It is to find the optimum gate position, the diameter of the runner and the position where the balance is equal. The molded article formed by the optimization resulted in the uniformity of the molten resin at the same time at the corner of the product, thereby maintaining the flow balance favorable for mass production at lower injection pressure.

  • Almost all injection molds have multi-cavity, which are designed with geometrically balanced runner system in order to made filling balance between cavity to cavity during injection molding. However, filling imbalance has been existed in the geometrically balanced runner system. In this study, we made an experiment and surveyed that are filling balanced variation according to molding condition with thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV). Also, we conducted experiments in order to know the influence of filling balance for runner core pin (RC pin).

  • Hydroforming Technology has been applied to manufacture in various parts of automobile. Especially, Exhaust manifold has been applied to hydroforming method in the foreign advanced automotive company. Exhaust manifold runner is important exhaust parts that heat-resistant and exhaust flow characteristics are requested in the automobile. The purpose of this study is to optimize the manufacturing method of exhaust maniflold runner using FEA and to propose to get a optimization design direction. In addition, Comparative analysis between conventional exhaust maniflold and hydroformed exhaust maniflold has been done in view of weight-saving, manufacturing advantage.

  • 우리의 제안시스템인 mobiAutoBot은 모바일 디바이스를 지원 가능한 인지 자동화 수준의 로보틱스 프로세스 자동화 소프트웨어의 개념모델이다. mobiAutoBot은 mobiAutoBot controller와 mobiAutoBot runner의 두 부분으로 구성되어 있다. mobiAutoBot controller는 모바일기기에 Job을 지시하고 모니터링 및 연동작업을 수행하며, 모바일 디바이스에 설치된 mobiAutoBot runner는 명령내린 작업을 수행한다. mobiAutoBot을 사용하면, 고가의 로보틱스 프로세스 자동화 기능을 저비용으로 구축가능하며, 모바일 디바이스를 포함한 다양한 응용분야에서 활용할 수 있다.

반도체 칩 캡슐화 공정에 있어서 와이어 스윕(wire sweep) 최소화에 관한 연구 (Reduction of Wire Sweep during Chip Encapsulation by Runner Balancing and Ram Control)

  • In this paper, methods to reduce wire sweep during the chip-encapsulation process have been studide. Two methods have been tried for this purpose, namely runner balancing and ram velocity control. Runner balancing has been achieved automatically by using a computer program. Ram-velocity control has been achieved using empirical rules and results from a flow simulation of the encapsulation process. A mold which has 12 cavities for chip has been used as a case study. The simulation results show that the wire sweep obtained from the optimal process condition is about 1/5 of that from initial, unoptimized condition.

CAE를 이용한 TV Speaker Grille 사출 성형의 최적화 (Optimization Condition for Injection Molding of TV Speaker Grille Using CAE)

  • MOLDFLOW사의 CAE S/W를 사용하여 A사의 TV speaker grille의 최적 성형 조건을 도출하였는데 캐비티 안으로 충전되는 수지의 양을 조절하는 방법 중 flow balance, runner balance, 그리고 이 두 가지를 절충한 세 가지 방법으로 유동과 보압 해석을 수행하였다. 또한 실제로 각각의 온도별 점도와 전단속도를 측정한 결과(local database)를 이용하여 해석하고, standard database에 의한 해석결과와 비교 검토하였다. Speaker grille에서 flow balance는 성형품의 weld line을 최소화함으로써 양호한 외관과 weld line의 기계적 물성 저하를 최소화시켰으나, 제품 중앙부의 과충전으로 인한 과도한 변형이나 gas가 발생하는 단점이 나타났다. Runner balance는 각 gate로부터 사출되는 수지의 양을 균등하게 조절함으로써 flow balance의 단점을 보완하였으나, weld line의 외관과 기계적 물성이 저하하는 단점이 나타났다. 그러나 flow balance와 runner balance를 절충한 형태의 runner의 직경을 변형함으로써 두 방법이 가지는 단점을 보완하였다. 또한 각각의 온도에 대한 점도와 전단속도를 실측한 local database와 기존의 standard database에 의한 해석 결과를 비교한 결과, 실측의 점도가 다소 높게 측정되고 온도 분포의 편차가 넓게 나타났음에도 불국하고 두 data의 해석 결과는 거의 차이가 없음이 확인되었다.
