습윤 접지력 향상을 위한 안전화 겉창 개발 연구 (The Development of Outsole for Wet Traction Enhancement)

  • Many occupational workers or professionals have to walk on the various floors for a long period of time. The objective of this study was to develop the safety shoes with increased traction through the material selection. In order to fulfill our objective, first, two kinds of filler were selected to compare the wear mechanism at outsole surface. The developed rubber materials were tested with two kinds of portable slip meters. The sample safety shoes with developed rubber materials were also tested with subject in the laboratory. During walking, the safety shoes were naturally abraded with counter surface. The coefficient of friction(COF) was gradually decreased with number of steps to 30,000, while the COF was abruptly increased from 30,000 to 40,000. The experimental results showed that COF tested with silica rubber was at least 10% higher than that with carbon black rubber in wet or detergent condition. It has been well recognized that filler properties play a important role in wet traction in the tire industry. However it has been unclear that filler properties would be decisive factor in safety shoes. Our study shows that silica exhibits a higher slip resistance than carbon black without reference to wear states in wet or detergent condition. So, this results will provide guides for outsole compounders to develop new products and improve product performance.

A Comparative Study of Morphology and Structure related Properties of Saturated Olefinic Thermoplastic Elastomer Blends of EPDM/PP/Oil and SEBS/PP/Oil

  • This work presents a comparative study of the morphology and structure related properties of thermoplastic elastomer blends based on SEBS/PP/Oil and dynamically vulcanized EPDM/PP/Oil. A combination of ruthenium oxide staining and low voltage scanning electron microscopy (LVSEM) was found to be suitable for the study of morphology of these highly oil extended blends. h close analogy was found in the mechanical, thermal and rheological properties of the two systems made in an internal Brabender mixer and co-rotating turin screw extruder. The morphology of the blends, as made by the two techniques, was found to be significantly different. In the case of TPVs, the blonds made in the extruder had smaller EPDM domains and better tensile properties. In the case of SEBS, the blends made in the Brabender had more co-continuous phases and showed better tensile properties. Crystallization behavior of the isotactic polypropylene in the blends was found to be influenced by the type of rubber. Blends of SEBS/PP crystallized at a lower temperature than the TPVs. These differences were probably caused by differences in the nucleating ability of the two rubbers.

고무블록의 수직 하중 및 수평 속도에 따른 마찰에너지 연구 (Study on Friction Energy of Rubber Block Under Vertical Load and Horizontal Velocity)

  • 고무는 독특한 점탄성적 성질로 인하여 여러 분야에서 광범위하게 사용되고 있다. 고무의 마찰은 지속적인 지면과의 접지로 인하여 발생되고, 결과적으로 마모가 발생한다. 이때 마찰에 의해 발생되는 마찰에너지는 마모 메커니즘의 중요 요인으로, 마찰에너지는 온도, 지면의 거칠기, 형상, 하중, 물성 등의 조건에 영향을 받는다. 본 연구에서는 마찰에너지에 대한 수직 하중과 수평 이동속도의 영향을 ABAQUS/explicit을 이용하여 해석하였고, 접지압, 전단력과 슬립 거리를 이용하여 마찰에너지를 계산하였다. 또한 실제 고무의 거동에 대한 실험 결과와 해석 결과를 비교하였다.

  • 일반적인 고무 부품의 해석적 피로 수명 예측은 다양한 피로시험 결과를 바탕으로 정의되는 피로 수명식이 사용된다. 그러나, 이와 같은 방식은 피로 시험에 사용되는 비용적, 시간적인 문제로 인해 설계과정에서 매우 제한적으로 사용된다. 더욱이, 고무재료의 비규격화 및 임의적인 특성변화가 피로시험 결과의 데이터베이스화를 어렵게 만든다. 본 논문에서는 찢김에너지를 이용한 또다른 피로수명 예측 방식을 제안하였다. 자동차용 방진고무들에 대한 동적, 정적 찢김시험 및 복잡한 형상을 갖는 고무 부품의 찢김에너지를 계산하기 위하여 가상 결함을 고려한 유한요소 정식화를 수행하였다. 제안된 방법을 사용하여, 자동차용 모터 마운트의 피로 수명을 예측해 보았고, 실제 수명과 예측된 수명을 비교하여 신뢰성을 검증해 보았다.

Oleamide 및 아라미드 칩을 첨가한 NBR 고무재료의 내소음성 및 물성 연구 (A Study on Noise Resistance and Physical Properties of NBR Rubber Materials Containing Oleamide and Aramid Chip)

  • 내소음성과 내균열성을 가진 고무재료의 개발을 목적으로 NBR에 oleamide와 아라미드를 첨가하여 함량에 따른 가황특성, 물리적 성질, 내열성, 내유성, 내마모성, 내균열성 및 내소음성을 조사하였다. 가황특성과 Mooney 점도를 측정한 결과, 미가황고무의 가황특성은 oleamide의 양이 증가할수록 torque가 감소하였다. oleamide의 함량이 3 phr까지 증가함에 따라 경도 및 모듈러스 값은 조금씩 감소하였고 신장률은 감소하는 경향을 나타내었으며 인장강도는 거의 변화가 없었다. 내열성 시험(70시간, $120^{\circ}C$) 및 내유성 시험(70시간, $40^{\circ}C$)을 수행한 결과. 인장강도와 신장률이 모두 감소하였으며, TGA/DSC 분석 결과 첨가제에 따른 배합고무재료의 열적특성은 변화가 없었다. 기본물성, 내마모성, 내소음성 및 내균열성을 종합한 결과, NBR 227001 고무재료에서 내마모성과 내소음성에 대한 oleamide의 최적배합비는 3 phr였으며, 내균열성에 대한 아라미드의 최적배합비는 1 phr로 나타났다.

V-rib 벨트용 EPDM과 CR의 고온 내구성과 기계적 물성에 미치는 충전제의 영향 (Thermal and Mechanical Properties of EPDM and CR Compounds with Various Fillers and Its Contents for V-rib Belt)

  • 본 연구는 자동차 엔진의 구동을 각종 부대 장치로 전달하는데 사용되는 V-rib 벨트 재료의 내열성 및 내마모성을 향상시키기 위한 연구이다. 이를 위하여 고무 매트릭스는 EPDM과 CR, 그리고 충전제로 ZnO, 면 및 아라미드 섬유의 함량을 달리한 시편과 v-벨트를 만들어 내열성과 내마모성 그리고 기계적 성질을 조사하였다. CR 배합계에서 ZnO의 함량이 증가함에 따라 내마모성이 증가하였다. 또한 면섬유의 함량이 증가함에 따라 벨트상태에서 견딜 수 있는 구동시간은 증가하지만 내마모성은 감소하는 결과를 보였다. EPDM 배합계에서 면섬유의 충전한계는 30 phr정도였다. 또한 아라미드와 면섬유를 혼합 사용한 결과 구동시간과 내마모성을 동시에 증가시킬 수 있었으며, 그 단섬유의 최적 조성은 아라미드섬유/면섬유 비율이 1/5인 것으로 조사되었다. 동일한 면섬유 함량에서 EPDM 배합계 가 CR 배합계보다 우수한 물성을 보였다.

  • 산업기계에서 공기압 또는 유압용 액추에이터(actuator)가 넓이 사용되는데 액추에이터의 중요 부품으로 탄성중합체로 만들어진 시일을 사용한다. 우수한 밀봉특성을 요구하는 시일의 재료로 내유성과 내마모성이 비교적 우수한 NBR(nitrile butadiene rubber) 재료가 가장 많이 사용한다. 산업기계의 액추에이터는 적용환경에 따라 낮거나 혹은 높은 온도에서 사용되는데 여러 온도에서 NBR은 그에 따른 특성이 다르게 나타난다. 본 연구에서는 새롭게 만들어지고 있는 재료 중 공기압, 유압용 시일(Seal)재료로 사용하는 Hs70, 80, 90등 3종의 NBR을 각각 $-10^{\circ}C,\;20^{\circ}C,\;80^{\circ}C,\;100^{\circ}C$온도에서 소재의 비선형(nonlinear) 특성의 시험과 유한요소해석에 필요한 재료상수를 알아보고 각각의 온도에서 하중 반복조건에 따른 소성변형 경향을 살펴보았다.

코팅제의 가교 밀도에 따른 고무와 코팅원단의 물성 변화 (Properties of Rubbers and Coated Fabrics according to Different Cross-linking Density of Coating Agent)

  • Silicone rubber is widely used in most industries due to diverse advantages like heat stability, UV stability, durability, chemical resistance, environment friendliness, inertness and so on. But there is limitation to expand applications due to relatively weak rubber strengths such as tensile strength and tear strength, especially in fabric coating applications. The purpose of this study is to find influence of coating agent on performances of rubber and coated fabrics and their correlation according to different crosslinking densities of silicone rubbers. Addition cure type of silicones were formulated using crosslinked MQ-type silicone resin consisting of M (R3SiO1/2) and Q (SiO4/2) and linear polymers. Raw materials used were; 1) linear vinyl endblocked polymers and vinyl functional MQ resin as main polymers, 2) linear silicone hydride polymers as crosslinkers, 3) platinum catalyst and 4) inhibitor to control curing speed. Rubber specimens were prepared to check mechanical strength using universal testing machine (UTM). Crosslinking density was calculated using Flory-Rhener equation using solvent swelling method. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and scanning electron microscope (SEM-EDS) were used to characterize rubbers. Consequently, it was found that physical properties of silicone rubbers and coated fabrics can be expected by crosslinking density of rubbers. Silicone rubber formulations that contain 20 ~ 30 wt% of vinyl MQ resin showed strongest balanced performances.

Influence of Blending Method on the Generation of Wear Particulate Matters and Physical Properties in TBR Tire Tread Compounds

  • Because particulate matter has emerged as a major contributor to air pollution, the tire industry has conducted studies to reduce particulate matters from tires by improving tire performance. In this study, we compared the conventional blending method, in which rubber, filler, and additives are mixed simultaneously, to the Y-blending method, in which masterbatches are blended. We manufactured carbon black (CB)-filled natural rubber (NR)/butadiene rubber (BR) blend and silica-filled epoxidized NR/BR blend compounds to compare the effects of the two blending methods on the physical properties of the compounds and the amount of particulate matter generated. The Y-blending method provided uniform filler distribution in the heterogeneous rubber matrix, improved processability, and exhibited low rolling resistance. This method also improved physical properties owing to the excellent filler-rubber interaction. The results obtained from measuring the generation of particulate matter indicated that, the Y-blending method reduced PM2.5 particulate matter generation from the CB-filled and silica-filled compounds by 38% and 60%, and that of PM10 by 29% and 67%, respectively. This confirmed the excellence of the Y-blending method regarding the physical properties of truck bus radial tire tread compounds and reduced particulate matter generated.

어독성 실험에 따른 방근재 친환경 특성 분석 (Analyses on Environment-friendliness of Root Barrier Materials based on Fish Toxicity Test)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of environment-friendliness of Root Barrier materials based on comprehensive experiments on harmfulness of Root Barrier materials and fish toxicity of Oryzias latipes mortality to verify eco-toxicity of each method of construction and Root Barrier material, which are to be applied by taking eco-toxicity into account when building ecological flows in upper areas on natural and artificial grounds. As a result, the following conclusions have been reached in this study: 1. In regard of the harmfulness analyzed, each material showed a different result of analytical value in each lab tank. Compared to lab tank, pH (la), DO (lb), T-N (VI) and T-coli (la) were in the same grade, but COD, SS, T-P and F-coli were less than that of control, respectively increased or decreased by material were analyzed. 2. In the experiment of fish toxicity, Barrier sheet was found to have 66.7% of fish mortality, indicating strong fish toxicity. Synthetic rubber system root barrier sheet (20.0%) was analyzed to have medium fish toxicity, while Synthetic resin system root barrier-waterproof sheet (3.3%), Synthetic rubber system membrane root barrier sheet (3.3%) and Synthetic resin system root barrier sheet (0.0%) showed relatively lower mortality and fish toxicity. To sum up such results as found in the experiment mentioned so far, the values of harmfulness and root penetration resistance analyzed were different in each lab tank, but there was absolutely little correlation with the mortality gained from the experiment on fish toxicity. In the experiment of fish toxicity, environment-friendly root barrier materials were analyzed, and it was found that Synthetic resin system root barrier sheet, Synthetic resin system root barrier waterproof sheet and Synthetic rubber system membrane root barrier sheet are highly environment-friendly. In contrast, Synthetic rubber system root barrier sheet was found to have medium-level environment-friendliness. Also, Barrier sheet was analyzed to have low environment-friendliness.
