활주로 고무 퇴적물 제거를 위한 포장 파손 저감형 사전처리제 개발 연구 (Development of the Rubber Removal Primer to Reduce Pavement Damage for Removal of Rubber Deposits in Runways)

  • 항공기 착륙 시 발생하는 고무퇴적물은 젖은 노면에서의 표면 마찰력을 감소시키는 주원인으로 안전한 항공기 착륙을 위해 주기적인 제거를 실시하고 있다. 제거작업에 주로 사용되는 고압살수 방법은 고압의 물로 직접 표면을 타격함에 따라 표면 재료 유실의 원인이 되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 고무 제거시 살수 압을 상대적으로 낮추어 표면 파손을 저감시키고, 저수압에도 효율적으로 고무퇴적물을 제거할 수 있는 사전 처리제 개발을 진행하였다. 이를 위해 사전 처리제에 적합한 기초재료를 선정하여 성능 평가, 침투율 평가, 현장 적용성 평가를 진행하였다. 이를 토대로 기초재료의 성능 개선에 필요한 첨가제의 비율을 1차적으로 선정하였고, 포장 영향성 평가를 통해 최적배합을 도출하여 고무제거 사전처리제 개발을 완료하였다.

  • One of the most important element technologies for achieving high-precision in machine tool spindle systems is preload technology for the bearing of spindle systems. Fixed position preload, constant pressure preload, conversion preload and variable preload methods have been applied for the spindle systems. In this study, a new variable preload method using centrifugal force and rubber pressure is used for reducing installation costs through simplifying its structure. The main objective of the work is the verification of the operability in a preload device using the rubber pressure by the finite element analysis. It is shown that the variable preload device proposed in this study is applicable to high speed machine tool spindles.

  • This paper presents active vibration control using a hybrid mount which consists of rubber element and the piezostack actuator. After identifying stiffness and damping properties of the rubber element and piezoelectric elements, a mechanical model of the hybrid mount is established. The mount model is then incorporated with the vibration system, and the governing equation of motion is obtained in a state space. A sliding mode controller and LQG controller are designed in order to actively attenuate the vibration of the system subjected to high frequency and small magnitude excitations. Control responses such as acceleration and force transmission through the hybrid mount are evaluated by computer simulation.

  • The authors propose in this research the equation to calculate the velocities, accelerations and penetration angles of the locus of lug motion for the rubber crawler mechanism. In these equations with some values of factors, motion characteristics of all points or faces of the lug in the front-half a rubber crawler. After that we also consider the reactionary force from the soil to the lug by computing the removed soil area for the purpose of understanding a relation between crawler lug and the soil in the terms of estimating trafficability.

  • Ride comfort of a vehicle is often determined by rubber bushes in suspension system. If transmission forces versus deformations across the bushes are available under operational conditions, improvement of the ride comfort could be done with more ease. Recently, the transmission forces are measured using custom-made force transducers inside the links. This study presents a feasibility study on estimation of the rubber bush deformations using vibration signals on the rigid links. Linear variable displacement transducers as well as piezoelectric accelerometers are used to expand frequency range to very low frequency, which cannot be done with accelerometers only. How to estimate the bush deformation from the two vibration signals on the links are presented together with experimental results.

  • The seismic isolation technology has appeared to be increasingly necessary for highway brides LNG tank nuclear power plant and building structures in view of recent frequent earthquake vibrations in Korea. Also high-technology industries required effective seismic protection. The LRB(Lead Rubber Bearing) systen has been counted as the most effective way for seismic isolation which is now under development and widely used in industries. Hear the commercial FEM software for nonlinear analysis MARC has provided force-displacement curves on the rubber system. The Seismic Isolation Bearing - High Damping Rubber Bearing - system has been counted as the most effective way fur seismic isolation, which is now under development and widely used in industries. The analyses have been carried out about fourteen cases; 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%, 125% and 150% horizontal displacements with a different frequency - 0.01Hz and 0.50Hz - and 100% horizontal displacement with four different frequency - 0.01Hz, 0.16667Hz, 0.3333Hz and 0.50Hz. The unknown constants of the strain energy function of Ogden model have been obtained by a tension test and planar shear test.

  • This study was aimed to verify the stable interruption characteristics between power collector and 3rd rail type conductor rail for the Korean-standardized rubber-tired AGT light rail vehicle. At the test track for the Korean-standardized rubber-tired AGT light rail vehicle, interruption ratios, stresses, vibrations, and contact force variations were measured by test conditions, having various train speed. As the results, it was verified that developed 3rd rail type conductor maintains interruption characteristics, which can supply stable electric power.

Numerical investigation of potential mitigation measures for poundings of seismically isolated buildings

  • During very strong earthquakes, seismically isolated buildings may experience large horizontal relative displacements, which may lead to poundings if an insufficiently wide clearance is provided around the building. This paper investigates, through numerical simulations, the effectiveness of using rubber bumpers, which could be attached at locations where it is likely to have impacts, in order to act as shock-absorbers. For the simulation of the dynamic behavior of such rubber bumpers during impacts, a nonlinear force-based impact model, which takes into account the finite thickness of the rubber bumpers, has been developed. Subsequently, a series of parametric analyses are performed to assess the effect of the gap size, the earthquake characteristics and the thickness, compressive capacity and damping of the bumpers. The stiffness of the moat wall is also parametrically considered during poundings of a seismically isolated building, as another potential mitigation measure for poundings of seismically isolated buildings.
