Optimal Planning of Multiple Routes in Flexible Manufacturing System (유연생산 시스템의 최적 복수 경로 계획)

  • We consider the simultaneous selection of part routes for multiple part types in Flexible Manufacturing Systems (FMSs). Using an optimization framework we investigate two alternative route assignment policies. The one, called routing mix policy in the literature, specifies the optimal proportion of each part type to be produced along its alternative routes, assuming that the proportions can be kept during execution. The other one, which we propose and call pallet allocation policy, partitions the pallets assigned to each part type among the routes. The optimization framework used is a nonlinear programming superimposed on a closed queueing network model of an FMS which produces multiple part types with distinct repeated visits to certain workstations. The objective is to maximize the weighted throughput. Our study shows that the simultaneous use of multiple routes leads to reduced bottleneck utilization, improved workload balance, and a significant increase in the FMS's weighted throughput, without any additional capital investments. Based on numerical work, we also conjecture that pallet allocation policy is more robust than routing mix policy, operationally easier to implement, and may yield higher revenues.

  • KEPCO is executing a project in Cambodia consisting of two components, "Power Development Master Plan and Institutional Strengthening" and "Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) Power Project Preparation" upon request by the government of the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy of Cambodia, contracted on $29^{th}$ September 2005. This paper includes a basic design and review of economical efficiency for constructing the two (2) cross border 115 kV transmission lines, which run from the border of Vietnam and Laos to Cambodia, and four (4) 115kV substations. The main contents of the paper include the process of design and results of a review of line route selection, tower and hardware design regarding transmission line design, as well as the type of substation, and arrangement and specifications of equipment with expects to substation design. Also, long-term demand forecasting, and an economic analysis of the project area are included.

  • Overhead transmission line design supporting program using high spatial resolution satellite imagery has been developed recently by Korea Power Engineering Company, The developed program, ITSS(Interactive Tower Spotting System) is purposed to improve the application of satellite imagery with the route selection of overhead transmission line. It is composed of spotting the tower position and designing the tower type and height with DEM(Digital Elevation Model) overlaid with satellite Imagery. To review and confirm the function and work efficiency, ITSS was applied to the pilot project of overhead transmission line design.

Access Time Distribution of Subway Users (지하철 이용자의 접근시간분포)

  • Accurate subway demand estimation which is essential for better route selection can be achieved by the exact definition of the influence sphere of subway station. The influence was derived implicitly from the analysis of access time to the station for the cases of Seoul. Access time distribution was investigated by trip purposes, by age, by income, by sex, by travel distance, by kinds of thickets, by the location of station for the analysis of relationship between access time and socio-economic characteristics or urban structure. The difference of average access time between direct access trip and transfer trip which is found 8.6 minutes and 6.1 minutes respectively also investigated. The small difference implies poor transfer system of Seoul subway. 83.1% of subway users are coming from the distance of 10minutes' walk and average access time is 7.8minutes as a whole.

  • A Project planning is one of the most important processes that determines success and failure of the project. Scope management for project planning is also essential job in system integration project. However project planning is very difficult because lots of factor and their relationships should be considered. Therefore project planning of SI project has been done by project manager s own knowledge and experiences. It is necessary to develop an algorithm of WBS(Work Breakdown Structure) identification & document selection along to project's specificity in project management system using AI technique. This study also present method (ODW model) to cope with the limitations of the existing study that has uniformly customizing the methodology by only project complexity. We propose PPSM(Project planning support module) that apply Rule for determination of route map and document level, and CBR for WBS identification.

  • This paper presents a transfer capability enhancement process using VSC HVDC system which can control active power as well as reactive power. The transfer capability is constrained by stability like voltage stability as well as thermal rating of power system components. Transfer capability of the power system limited by these constraints may be enhanced by reactive power control ability and active power flow control ability of the VSC HVDC system. To enhance the transfer capability of the system using VSC HVDC, selection of the HVDC installation site is performed. In this work, power zones which consist of major power plants and their sinks are identified using power tracing and distribution factor. Alternative route of major AC transmission line in the power zone is identified as VSC HVDC system.

  • Occasionally, equipment in a distribution system fails due to damage from weather, vandalism, or other causes. In addition, it is recommended practice to have some way in which maintenance or replacement of every element in a system can be performed without causing lengthy interruption of electrical service to the customers it feeds. Thus, alternate sources, paths, and configurations of service must be planned so that both failures and maintenance do not affect customer service beyond a reasonable amount. In some cases, planning for alternate routes of service during equipment outages or emergencies -- will be the major aspect influencing selection of a feeder's capacity, type of route, or layout. We want to know the relationship between molt-dividing multi-connection and distribution reliability for contingency support considerations.

A Study on the Attitude about the Family/Kinship Life of Netizen (네티즌의 가족/친족관련 가치관과 태도)

  • The purpose of this exploratory study was to investigate how the information society affected the attitude about the family/kinship life of Netizen. For this goal, the data were collected from 305 Netizen who use the Internet. The major findings were as follows. Firstly, In Netizen, the support to familism and boy preference was low level. Secondly, in their altitude to the divorce and remarriage, there was a tendency which accepts a marriage with selection. Thirdly, they had a tendency to agree equal partnership in couple relationship. Fourthly, virtual community in cyber-space was found, but the loyalty of members was not enough strong. Fifthly, in the family/kin rites, it was showed non-traditional tendency. And in all aspects, some differences were found between men and women. The findings of the present study suggest that the couple relationship in the information society becomes more important, and there is a tend to increase acceptability to increase. In contrast, there is stiff another discrimination in cyber-space by focusing on traditional mother route.

A Node-disjoint Path Selection Algorithm in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (모바일 애드혹 네트워크에서의 노드디스조인트 경로 탐색 알고리즘)

  • 모바일 애드혹 네트워크에서의 멀티패스 라우팅 프로토콜은 기존의 단일패스 라우팅 프로토콜에 비하여 대역폭을 효율적으로 사용할 수 있고 혼잡을 완화시킬 수 있으며, 데이터 전달의 신뢰성을 제공할 수 있다. 하지만 멀티패스 라우팅 프로토콜에서의 경로 탐색 과정은 오버헤드가 크고 계산의 복잡도 또한 높다. 본 논문에서는 무선 애드혹 네트워크에서의 멀티패스 라우팅을 위한 효율적인 노드디스조인트 경로 탐색 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안하는 알고리즘은 지연된 RREP(Route Reply) 패킷을 사용하여 최적의 노드 디스조인트 경로를 탐색하고 그중 간섭 및 충돌의 영향이 적은 경로 집합을 선택한다. 이를 통해 빠르게 트래픽을 분산시킬 수 있고 충돌로 인한 오류의 발생을 낮추어 신뢰성을 높일 수 있다. 실험을 통하여 제안하는 경로 탐색 알고리즘이 최적의 멀티패스를 선택함을 확인하였다.

  • Recently, the danger for radioactive materials has become a hot topic. Beginning with the Chernobyl nuclear accident in 1996, in 2011, the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan suffered major damage such as large-scale casualties and radioactive dangerous area selection. Concerns about leakage of radioactive materials due to recent earthquakes have been deepening in Korea, such as Wolsong Nuclear Power Plant in Gyeongju, and there is a growing interest in the safety of radioactive materials through the media and the media. However, the route to exposure to radioactive materials is not limited to these large-scale nuclear accidents. Typical examples of this are radioactive substances exposed in daily life. In the case of radon gas, the danger is being revealed through current events programs and news, and natural radiation exposure is attracting attention.
