In the information society, individual, enterprise and nation must be equipped with environmment and competence with which they can acquire useful information anytime and anywhere to process and utilize it in required form. Therefore, this study intends to investigate how digital TV, refrigerator and computer are laid out in the residential space in terms of life space, analyze the preference of residents an d forecast the preferred functions of the products to be introduced in the future. To build frame for making questionnaire tool of this survey, 3 households of the first constructor among the top-ranked constructors in the first half of 2004 were chose and in-depth interview was made from April 12 to April 17. On the basis of result of preliminary survey obtained by this process, the questionnaire was revised and supplemented. Targeting those living at the apartment house in Seoul and constructors ranked in top-four in the order of construction of the first half of 2004, I selected 3 households for each group in the range of 30$^{\sim}$40 pyung. Twelve cases were surveyed from April 19, 2004 to June 5, 2004. First, TV will continue playing the role of central entertainment mustering family at one place rather than separating them to each room. Second, in the case of refrigerator, the function is being subdivided, making 2 types, refrigerator and kimchi refrigerator indispensable, which was in just unit in the past Third, while computer was usually placed in the individual bedroom,
This study attempts to understand the arrangement and spatial requisites of art pieces by materializing the visitors' path of movement in the exhibition space, as well as researching their behavior. The purpose of the research is to the guideline for planning the exhibition layout and visitors' circulation can be derived in order to correspond to the visitors' characteristic of movement and circulation-path choice. Although such guideline may have limited use, it is still significant enough to be studied. Taking three Korean art galleries as the subjects of research, this study observes the arrangement of art pieces, movement path of visitors, characteristics of the visitors' behavior and the duration time a visitor takes to view an art piece without moving around in order to understand the arrangement and spatial requisites of art pieces which correspond to the visitors' behavior. The following results have been drawn in this research and analysis; First, when there is an island type exhibition other than the ordinary on-the-wall display in the exhibition space, the visitors' choice of path changes. In short, an island type exhibition seems to be a factor that changes the visitors' path. Second, in the entrance of an exhibition space unit, most of the visitors seem to choose a path which moves counter-clockwise. Third, it is considered that well-known art pieces or art pieces with a big size shall not be displayed on the comer of the exhibition room.

Objective : The current study investigated the psychopathology characteristics of the suicide attempter visited in a university hospital for one year using the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) test commonly used in clinical medicine. Methods : 72 suicide attempter and 115 control group completed the Korean version of the MMPI. Results : The MMPI scores of the suicide attempters were significantly higher on the lie (L), infrequency (F), defensiveness (K), paranoia (Pa), psychasthenia (Pt), schizophrenia (Sc), hypomania (Ma) than the comparison group. Conclusion : We supposed that suicide attempter have more chance of being paranoid, psychasthenic, schizoid or hypomanic than the control group relatively. They seem to have psychotic psychopathology rather than neurotic psychopathology. These results suppoed that the psychopatholgy of suicide attempter may be different from the control group. However the final decision is indefinite, it needs more well designed systemic studies.
The cooling load in winter season is significant in many commercial buildings and hotels because of the usage of office equipments and high efficiency of wall insulation. The development of a multi-heat pump that can cover heating and cooling simultaneously for each indoor unit is required. In this numerical study, a 4-room simultaneous heating and cooling heat pump system was modeled and its performance was calculated at each operating mode. Also, performance analysis was compared with experimental results.
Two cobalt(II) compounds $[Co(2,2{^\prime}-bipy)(H_2O)_2(SO_4)]_n$ (1) and $[Co_2(2,2^{\prime}-bipy)_2(btec)(H_2O)_6]{\cdot}2H_2O$ (2) (2,2'-bipy = 2,2'-bipyridine, $H_4btec$ = 1,2,4,5-benzenetetracarboxylic acid), have been simultaneously synthesized by a one-pot slow solvent evaporation reaction. Their structures were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and further characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD), IR, elemental and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The structural analysis reveals that compound 1 exhibits an infinite 1D chain structure with the octahedral Co(II) centers bridging by the tetrahedral ${\mu}_2-SO{_4}^{2-}$ ligands, while compound 2 possesses a dinuclear $Co_2(2,2^{\prime}-bipy)_2(btec)(H_2O)_6$ unit and the two adjacent octahedral Co(II) ions are linked by the bismonodentately coordinated btec ligand. Additionally, compound 2 exhibits blue fluorescent emission in the solid state at room temperature.

The air sterilization systems are investigated experimentally in this paper. The goal is to reduce bacteria, mold and viruses in office air by using a UV sterilizer installed inside a partition panel and wall-mounted unit. These systems allow occupants to turn the system on/off and to control the incoming air speed and direction. The partition air sterilization system conditions and sterilizes the air, and then delivers the clean air into the personal task area through the partition panels, which are connected to the pressurized under-floor plenum. Room air exits through the return grills mounted on the ceiling. The wall-mounted air sterilization system sterilizes the air, and then delivers the clean air to the personal task area from the wall. In this study a full-size experimental environment is established to investigate the immunization performance of these air sterilization systems. A typical office space scale is used in this study in order to find an optimal system to achieve a sterilized healthy micro-environment. Multiple system parameters, including volume flow rate and velocity of supplied air, were regulated during the experiments. The more air contact these air sterilization systems had, the better disinfection performance. Over 90% of eradication ratios were obtained by these two air sterilization systems. The results indicate that these systems can efficiently disinfect office air contamination.
This study attempts to present a new interpretation of the Jeju province Waga, authorized as Jeju province Folklore, in the context of lifestyles of residents distinctive in the Jungji, Chatbang, and Gopang system. Study results uncovered that (1) only one Jungji, a traditional house kitchen, exists in one house boundary, in the form of detached building in the 4 units of Gaok (K-2 Gaok, K-3 Gaok, C-1 Gaok, and C-2 Gaok) (2) Chatbang had multifaced-functions; as a place for diet for mistress and children, a place for preparing meals for a mister who diet in the room, and as an auxiliary meal-preparation facility in time of domestic celebration day. (3) Gopang was mostly a place for grain storage, and K-3 Gaok has one unit, K-1 Gaok, C-1 Gaok, and C-2 Gaok had 2 units, and K-2 Gaok and H Gaok had 3 untis of Gopang. (4) Jungji and Chatbang were correlated for meal preparation and diet while activity-line of flow was divided each other. (5) Jungji and Gopang were located at the opposite edges of of each house, revealing no consideration of indoor activities. (6) The ratios of space of Jungji, Chatbang and Gopang out of the whole house space were, average 23% in the case of Jungji located in the inner house, and average 37% in the case of Jingji located in the detached building, average 14% larger in the case of detached Jungji system.
An oxygen deficient perovskite (CaLa)(MgMn)O5.43, with the cubic unit cell parameter of 3.826$\AA$, was prepared 115$0^{\circ}C$ for 10 hrs under the ambient oxygen gas pressure. The average oxidation state of manganese was determined to be 3.86 by the iodometric titration, so that the perovskite could be formulated as (CaLa) ({{{{ { MgMn}`_{ chi } ^{II } }}{{{{ { Mn}`_{ y} ^{III } }}{{{{ { Mn}`_{1- chi -y } ^{IV } }})O5.43 (2x+y=0.14). From X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, the manganese ions in the lattice are mostly tetravalent, but two paramagnetic configurations were observed in the EPR spectrum: One sharp isotropic signal with hyperfines (ΔH 50 G, g=1.997$\pm$0.002 and │A│=82(4)$\times$10-4 cm-1) and a broad isotropic one (ΔH 1600 G, g=1.994$\pm$0.002), those which correspond respectively to Mn(II) and Mn(IV) ions. According to the magnetic susceptibility measurement, it follows the Curie-Weiss law from 20 K up to room temperature with $\mu$eff=5.23 $\mu$B, which is relatively larger than spin-only value({{{{ { mu }`_{eff} ^{s.o } }}=4.04 $\mu$B) due to the effect of weak ferromagnetic coupling. Such a result is in accord with a theory of semicovalence exchange.

A house is basic unit of human being living space and it reflects an occupation, family relation, a life style and sense of value of resident. The purpose of this study was to research the continuity of traditional elements and contemporary change of Japanese houses by field study and literature research. The subject of this study was sixteen houses of Miyashiro, Saitama pref. in Japan. The results of this study are as follow as. First, the traditional elements of contemporary Japanese houses are tatami floor room, tsuzukima, zashiki, dokonoma, butsudan, amado. Second, the tatami is symbol of Japanese living space. Wasizus maintains a traditional characteristic, but it is developed and fixed properly change in contemporary life. Third, the traditional elements of Japanese houses are continuing in the modern houses, and they are continuously changed the feature from recreate. It can be a connection of a hereditary factor of residential culture. Four, the continuity of modern change and traditional element of the Japanese houses can be understood the change of the structural and spatial responding method to accommodates a life.

We have studied the etching of Si(100)-2xl by Cl and Br, using scanning tunneling microscopy to obtain morphological information that can be related to reaction and desorption pathways. Clean surfaces were exposed to molecular halogens at room temperature to produce well-defined chemisorption structures for coverages in the range 0.2-1.0 ML. Heating to 750-750 K induced etching by thermal desorpton. Analysis of the halogen concentration before and after heating indicated that the rates of desorption for SICl2 or SiBr2 were greatest for intermediate coverages and that etching was suppressed as saturation was reached. Hence, desorption is not simply proportional to the concentration of species that can form adsorbed precursors SiX2(a). Instead, it is directly coupled to the creation of monomer vacancies adjacent to the SiX2 (a) unit because this increases the lifetime of the excited state and increases the likelihood of its desorption. Increasing the surface concentration of halogens reduces the rate of vacancy formation. We show that these rates are also affected by a re-dimerization process in the high temperature Br-stabilized Si(100)-3xl reconstruction that increases the likelihood of siBr2(a) formation and enhances its desorption. I will also discuss recent result for F etching on Si(100)-2xl.
