The Finite Element Analysis and Experiment of Flexible Media Separation Mechanism (유연매체 분리기구의 유한요소해석과 실험)

  • The separation mechanism is installed to separate a note one by one from the stacked notes and the overlap type, one of separation mechanism, has been used a lot in financial equipments like ATM. This paper has compared and estimated analysis results using finite element method with experimental results over various parameters such as conditions of note, overlap value, roller shapes, which affect the friction force (resistance) exerting on notes between rollers. Consequently, the effect of various parameters on the performance of overlap type separation mechanism can be known and optimal shape and overlap value can be obtained.

  • The clean non-contact type conveyor system for vertical transfer of large size FPD(Flat Panel Display) glasses has been installed at FPD production line just since a few years ago. The most important part of the conveyor is the 3 axis permanent magnet rollers faced orthogonally in pairs. However, the systematic design method about it has not been proposed yet. In this paper, we studied a design analysis for determining geometrical parameters of the magnetic roller by using a commercial FEM tool of the 3D Maxwell. Through a series of simulation, we obtained the relationship of several geometrical parameters affecting the torque of the conveyor.

  • An analytical study about dynamic behavior of center pivot rocker arm type valve train system equipped with roller of diesel engine is developed. At first, a mathematical model for the dynamic analysis has been set up using the lumped parameter method. In that model, valve spring is divided as some mass elemehts so as to simulate spring surging, Then, how the design parameters, such as valve mass, rocker arm inertia, valve spring stiffness, and initial load on valve spring, affect valve dynamic behavior especially in the valve close area is scrutinized.

  • This research presents the performance analysis of the linear type pneumatic actuators that are used in semi-conductor assembly line to transfer some product with high accuracy. To increase positioning and repetitive accuracies, a cross roller guide is implemented inside the pneumatic actuator. The finite element method is used to verify the force against working moments, and reliability analysis is performed to classify the breakdown cases. Also, reliability, failure rate, probability density function, and $B_{10}$ to life are estimated under the boundary of thrust or air leakage conditions. In this study, the failure probabilistic function of the pneumatic actuators is analyzed using Weibull distribution.

  • This paper was represented an electrostatics distribution analysis using FEM(finite element method) with industrial type Inkjet plotter. Here, we know electronic value with each system position by experiment. these were decreased by discharge through earth and electricity shielding. According to industrial development, all fields using chemical instrument and material are generated an electrostatics. Based on these, the big large position of electrostatics was obtained metal base of controller, nonconductor fiber between two rubber roller, head controller by moving roller etc., Therefore these were showed an electrostatics generation source and by rubbing and meager profits electric charge.

  • In recent years, the need for more fuel-efficient and lower-emission vehicles has driven the technical development of alternative fuels such as LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) which is able to meet the limits of better emission levels without many modifications to current engine design. LPG has a high vapor pressure and lower viscosity and surface tension than diesel and gasoline fuels. These different fuel characteristics make it difficult to directly apply the conventional gasoline or diesel fuel pump. Self acting lubricated groove design or coating can be used in high-speed and high precision spindle system like a roller-vane type fuel pump, because of its advantages such as low frictional loss, low heat generation, averaging effect leading better running accuracy and simplicity in manufacturing. Those design method can also affect the atomization of fuel from the injector and the formation of fuel film on the intake manifold. In this study, experiments are carried out to get performance characteristics of initial and steady state operation, The characteristics of vane type fuel pump were investigated to access the applicability on LPLi engine.

Investigation on the Repeatability of Modified Proctor Test for Roller Compacted Concrete Pavement (롤러 전압 콘크리트 포장을 위한 수정다짐시험의 반복재현성 고찰)

  • Roller Compacted Concrete Pavement (RCCP), is a type of pavement using compaction roller and asphalt finisher on concrete mixture that contains low amount of water. RCCP strength and durability are greatly affected by compaction level. Quality control is performed by ensuring the degree of compaction at site based on dry density. In the field, Modified Proctor Test is used in order to obtain optimum dry density. However, there is no clear compaction curve analysis criteria of Modified Proctor Test for RCCP. In this study, compaction curve built by three samples of Modified Proctor Test was produced and it was used to compare with compaction curve contented lower number of samples (one and two samples) in order to analyze their reliability. Thus, a conclusion was drawn from the results; by comparing to the result from Modified Proctor Test of three samples, the use of two samples represented result with only 0.5% of error which means the reliability is 99.5%.

  • Recently, usage bicycle has been encouraged to reduce energy consumption and $CO_2$. For this purpose, lots of bike road construction are planned. Typical type of pavement used in bikeroad such as asphalt concrete pavement, portland cement concrete pavement, colored pavement, soil pavement. However, these pavement types may need high construction cost comparing the required capacity of bike road. In this study, roller compacted concrete pavement which are economical and durable, are investigated to use as bike road pavement. The optimum compaction level and mix design of roller compacted concrete pavement are suggested by exploring strength test with various mixture ratio and compaction level, Also durability was examined based on freeze-thaw and scaling test. In addition, the cost and amount of carbon emission during in the construction of roller compacted concrete were evaluated and compare with the cost and carbon emission of typical portland cement concrete.

  • A wheel loader is a type of construction machinery that is capable of performing a variety of tasks, and demands on its functional diversity and structural reliability are growing. A wheel bearing is one of the core components that determine the life of the loader; taper roller bearings are commonly used for this purpose. The lifetime of a bearing is typically calculated based only on its load and revolution speed. The initial preload of a taper roller bearing is a critical factor that directly affects its endurance life. In this study, the relations between the endurance life and preload characteristics including the amount of preload according to the weight, rotational speed, and thermal modification applied to tapered roller bearings are presented. When the temperature is $100^{\circ}C$, an excessive preload condition is expected compared with that at room temperature, and the durable life decreases by 20.3 %.
