Purpose: The aim of this study was to identify the roles, duties and tasks of elementary health teachers. Required knowledge, skills, and worker behaviors were also examined. Methods: Elementary health teachers' jobs were analyzed by DACUM workshop. First, the health teachers' roles and related jobs were described, and then the jobs were divided into duties and subordinate tasks. The identified roles, duties and tasks were reviewed and refined, and then were organized in a DACUM chart. DACUM committee members discussed not only general knowledge, skills and work behaviors but also future trends and concerns. Results: The DACUM chart for elementary health teachers consisted of 8 duties and 52 tasks. Required knowledge, skills and worker behaviors were also listed. Conclusion: Elementary health teachers play roles as health manager, health care provider, and teacher in school. Their roles, duties and tasks are being changed. Thus, their jobs need to be redefined legally, politically, and institutionally.

Facilitating critical thinking is important for students' cognitive growth and knowledge acquisition. This study examines the dimensions of tutors' roles in facilitating the critical thinking required for problem solving in online discussions. The research procedures include identifying the research problems related to critical thinking skills; synthesizing theories and perspectives on critical thinking skills; and analyzing, validating, and determining tutors' roles. Using the results of this study, problem solving processes are divided into four phases: analyzing, judging, inferencing, and meta-cognitively evaluating. Tutors' roles in online problem solving can be categorized into four domains: cognitive, social, managerial, and technical. Tutors' roles in each domain are specifically analyzed, and the strengths, weaknesses, and improvements in tutors' facilitation of critical thinking for online problem solving are evaluated.

PURPOSE: This study was aimed at investigating the types of gender roles and the relationship between gender roles and job satisfaction among neurological physical therapists. METHODS: The study subjects were 169 (male 74, female 95) neurological physical therapists working at general hospitals or rehabilitation centers in the Daejeon Metropolitan City area, South Korea. To identify job satisfaction scores, the subjects completed a questionnaire, and a vernier caliper was used by a trained examiner to measure the lengths of the subjects' index and ring fingers (i.e., digitus secundus manus and digitus annularis, respectively) to examine gender roles. The index to ring finger length ratio (i.e., 2D:4D ratio) was calculated using a personal computer. An independent t-test was performed to compare the finger length ratio and job satisfaction of male group with that of the female group and a correlation analysis was performed to examine job satisfaction by gender roles. RESULTS: Finger length ratio is lower in males than in females. However, there was no significant difference statistically (p>.05). Regarding job satisfaction by gender, males were more satisfied with their jobs than females (p<.05). However, there were no significant correlations between job satisfaction and gender roles (p>.05). CONCLUSION: It cannot be concluded that bias against gender roles is a contributing factor for neurological physical therapists being satisfied with their job, and thus bias against gender roles among neurological physical therapists should be removed.

Purpose : The purpose of this study is to present the desirable level of home health care services by identifying the roles and activities by task of home health nursing specialists as well as to raise the level of professionalism in home health care services. Method : This is a methodological study. The roles and activities by task were identified through a review of literature and a state-of-the-practice survey, and were structured into a questionnaire after being reviewed and modified through a consensus of experts. The field survey was conducted on 136 home health nursing specialists at medical institutions, public health centers. public medical institutions, non-governmental organizations, and religious institutions in Seoul, Gyeonggi Province. Incheon, Busan, Daegu, and Gwanggju from June 4 to August 4. 2004. Seven roles. 34 tasks and 130 activities were identified in association with home health nursing specialists. Result : The roles of home health nursing specialists were identified as professional nursing service provider, advisor, educator, administrator, case manager, researcher and leader. Under these roles. 34 tasks and 134 task-specific activities were identified. Conclusion : The the roles and activities of home health nursing specialist identified in this study can be used in various home health care settings. These the roles and activities should provide the evaluation criteria of home health care services for institutions with existing home health care programs. An evaluation tool should be developed in order to ensure the hish quality of home health care services.

In this paper, we deal with the teaching of parameter in the school mathematics. The roles of letters become different according to the letters-used context. That is, the meaning of letters may change in the course of being used. But specifying the roles of letters without understanding the distinction between the roles is not enough for students to learn the meaning of variables, specifically that of parameters. Therefore, the parameter-learning should focus on the dynamic change of roles. That implies flexible thinking and changing of perspectives.

The roles-grafting research is an approach to educational studies intended to graft five roles of supervisors, graduate students, teachers, principals and administrators. The approach is divided into four chained and cyclical aspects: drafting research blueprint, revising research blueprint, executing research blueprint and assessing performances. The approach maintains five basic principles: principles of inheritance, innovation, practicality, scientific basis and grafting. It is a paradigm of innovative research that has been developed in China that is worth a thorough investigation and extensive analysis.

This study use the influences of parenting style as perceived by and adult child and recognizes gender roles for the purpose of marriage perspectives. I provided a general tendency of parenting style as perceived by and adult child, recognize gender roles, and perspective of marriage to achieve the established goals. We analyzed the relative influence of socio-demographic characteristics, parenting style as perceived by and adult child and recognize gender roles for marriage perspectives. Finally, parenting style as perceived by and adult child are recognized gender roles mediated by the investigated influence of marriage perspectives. We used a structured questionnaire that targeted unmarried men and women 20 to 30 years of age to verify the this study. Data analysis used SPSS ver. 19.0; in addition, we performed reliability, frequency analysis, t-test, hierarchical regression analysis, multiple regression analysis, and variance inflation factor. Looking at these results, both adult children had a higher perception of rearing parents with the usual recognition of gender roles. The analysis indicated a conservative perspective of marriage. Adult children of mothers rearing and recognize gender roles sub-area of masculinity and femininity are perceived to be a significant change observed in marriage perspectives in addition to socio-demographic characteristics of gender and education. However, the relationship between parenting style, as perceived by adult child and marriage perspectives and as analyzed by recognize gender roles, did not have a mediating effect.

This exploratory study reports how teacher-librarians perceive their roles as practitioners in school library media programs. Conducted within the framework of qualitative research, the study employed a focus group interview (Morgan 1997) with five teacher-librarians at elementary school level in Seoul. The findings suggest: (1) the roles of teacher-librarians are influenced a great deal by many factors in educational systems; (2) there is no consensus on how to define and perform their role as teachers; (3) there seems to be increasing emphasis on their program administrator's role; (4) there is no consensus on prioritizing the five roles suggested by the AASL (2009), but all the participants agreed that the leader's role is most crucial for the success of pursuing the rest of the roles, and (5) there seems to be no clear boundaries as teacher-librarians perform their roles. Putting all the results together, the researcher was able to conclude that teacher-librarians are frequently asked to be flexible and negotiable and have great burden in the affective, cognitive, and physical realm for the roles imposed and expected of them.

Despite large increases in the growth of the private security industry in the last few decades, very little empirically based information has been collected on the roles of private security within current Korean literature. Attempting to address this gap, this study examined perceptions of the roles of private security by surveying 212 police officers. In order to measure the strength of police officers' perception, not only quantitative but also qualitative methods were adopted. Overall, results of the study indicate that police officers considered private security as an adjunct to the police. However, they also believed that private security industry would grow to get square with the police in the near future. Concerning the specific roles of private security, police officers rated the roles of loss prevention and protection more highly than those of crime prevention and order maintenance. This result reveals that police officers thought private security had focused more on the roles related to the pursuit of profits than on the roles tied to its public functions.

Both undergraduate and graduate programs in health services management(HSM) are recently established in colleges and universities in Korea, and the programs train their students for diverse sectors within the field of healthcare management, including hospitals, nursing facilities, consulting firms, health industries such as pharmaceutical, insurance companies, etc. This study investigates many of the managerial roles expected to graduates from academic curricula in HSM, and required competencies to be successful in their positions. The information of roles and competencies for HSM graduates were collected, and their importances were evaluated by healthcare management experts through a Delphi method. As the result, 11 items for present roles and 13 items for future roles were derived, and 15 and 16 items were derived for present and future competencies respectively. Utilizing the classification of work roles by Timmreck and that of managerial competencies by Robbins, the importance of roles and competencies of healthcare managers was analyzed and interpreted. The major domains of roles at present turned out to be 'organizer', 'planner', 'problem solver', and 'coordinator' in order according to importance. On the other hand, as graduates develop their careers, the domains of future roles would be changed to 'director' and 'planner'. For competencies, the most important domain at present was 'technical skill', but the future important domain was 'interpersonal and emotional intelligence'. The result of this study can be seen as an initial step toward improving the academic curricula of HSM in college and universities and promoting collaborative efforts between academic programs and on-site practices in healthcare industries.
