  • The health care system revolutionized by the use of information and communication technologies. Computer information processing and electronic communication technologies play an increasingly important role in the area of health care. We propose a new role based access control model for pervasive health care systems, which changed location, time, environment information. Also our model can be solved the occurrence of an reduction authority problem to pervasive health care system at emergency environment. We propose a new role based access control model for pervasive health care systems, which combines role-to-role delegations, negative permission, context concept and dynamic context aware access control. With out approach we aim to preserver the advantages of RBAC and offer groat flexibility and fine-grained access control in pervasive healthcare information systems.

  • This paper implements an improved model for access control enforcement in enterprise environments. The integration of the task role-based access control model and the "conflicting entities" administration paradigm supply a specification of static and dynamic separation of duty requirements in the workflow environment. The implemented Extended Task Role-Based Access Control model can deal with the conflicting entities for workflow oriented tasks. It will support elaborate separation of duty policy to tasks in enterprise environment through the classification of enterprise sessions according to their characteristics.

  • RBAC(Role-Based Access Control) has advantages in managing access controls, because it offers the role inheritance and separation of duty in role hierarchy structures. Delegation is a mechanism of assigning access rights to a user. RBDM0 and RDM2000 models deal with user-to-user delegation. The unit of delegation in them is a role. However, RBAC does not process delegation of Role or Permission effectively that occurs frequently in the real world. This paper proposes a Time Constraints Permission-Based Delegation Model(TCPBDM) that guarantees permanency of delegated permissions and does not violate security principle of least privilege and separation of duty. TCPBDM, based on the well-known RBAC96, supports both user-to-user and role-to-role delegation with time constraints. A delegator can give permission to a specific person, that is delegatee, and the permission can be withdrawn whenever the delegator wants. Our model is analyzed and shown to be effective in the present paper.

  • Assuring integrity of permission assignment (PA) constraints is a difficult task in role-based access control (RBAC) because of the large number of constraints, users, roles and permissions in a large enterprise environment. We provide solutions for this problem using the conflict concept. This paper introduces the conflict model in order to understand the conflicts easily and to detect conflicts effectively. The conflict model is classified as a permission-permission model and a role-permission model. This paper defines two type conflicts using the conflict model. The first type is an inter-PA-constraints (IPAC) conflict that takes place between PA constraints. The other type is a PA-PAC conflict that takes place between a PA and a PA constraint (PAC) Also, the conditions of conflict occurrence are formally specified and proved. We can assure integrity on permission assignment by checking conflicts before PA and PA constraints are applied.

  • RBAC(Role Based Access Control) has the advantage that reflects the real world because it presents a basic access control model based on user's role in organizations or governments. But in RBAC model, the privileges of the senior roles in these hierarchies are inherited from those of the junior roles, so RBAC model has the privileges problem that he senior are given more privileges than they need. That is, it tends to infringe the Principle of Least Privilege. On the other hand, if we give some excessive constraints on the RBAC model without scrupulous care, it may be meaningless property of role hierarchies. Furthermore, such complicated constraints make it more difficult to mange resources and roles in huge enterprise environments. The purpose of this paper is to solve the problems of role hierarchies such as inefficient role managements and abuse of privileges by using newly presented the backward tag pointer path expression in the inheritance of privileges.

  • Purpose: This study proposes a model for future research agendas on knowledge management activities as a source of increasing sustainable competitive advantage. Based on the literature, the role of knowledge management in sustainable competitive advantage does not necessarily have a significant effect but involves other variables. For this reason, future research proposals on the role of knowledge management on sustainable competitive advantage and other relevant variables need to be carried out. Research design, data, and methodology: This research uses a literature study. The model development stage is (1) relevant research studies, (2) identification of relevant theories and related variables, (3) developing and making a hypothesis (4) proposed model. Results: From the literature study, it was found that knowledge management plays a role in increasing managerial competence, market orientation, and innovation. Furthermore, managerial competence, market orientation, and innovation significantly affect sustainable competitive advantage. However, other studies have found a different relationship. Conclusions: This study proposes a research model on the role of knowledge management, managerial competence, market orientation, and innovation to improve sustainable competitive advantage. The study results can be used for further research based on the proposed model and as a reference for company owners and management to increase competitive advantage.

  • Information technology is being applied to the development of ubiquitous healthcare system, which provides both efficient patient care and convenient treatment regardless of patient's location. However, the increasing number of users and medical information give rise to the problem of user management and the infringement of privacy. In order to address this problem we propose a user access scheme based on the RBAC (Role Based Access Control) model. The preceding trust management model for Grid security, FAS(Federation Agent Server), was analyzed and extended to provide supplementary functions for role-based access control in u-Healthcare system. The RBAC model provides efficient user management and access control, but very vulnerable in case when one with valid role tries to leak confidential inner medical information. In order to resolve this problem, a RBAC-WS (Work Status with RBAC) model has been additionally developed which allows only qualified staffs to access the system while on duty. Th proposed RBAC and RBAC-WS model have been merged together and applied to the PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System).

  • Privacy enforcement has been one of the most important problems in IT area. Privacy protection can be achieved by enforcing privacy policies within an organization's data processing systems. Traditional security models are more or less inappropriate for enforcing basic privacy requirements, such as privacy binding. This paper proposes an extended role-based access control (RBAC) model for enforcing privacy policies within an organization. For providing privacy protection and context based access control, this model combines RBAC, Domain-Type Enforcement, and privacy policies Privacy policies are to assign privacy levels to user roles according to their tasks and to assign data privacy levels to data according to consented consumer privacy preferences recorded as data usage policies. For application of this model, small hospital model is considered.

  • In home network environments, the user authentication and authorization associated user's information and usability may be important security issue. The OSGi service platform, a well-known home network gateway already specifies the mechanism of that. The traditional authority method provided OSGi implements simple RBAC(Role Based Access Control) model. This is difficult to support efficient access control. In this paper, we propose the dynamic RBAC model based on OSGi. The proposed method describes the extended framework that manage two roles named as absolute role and relative role, extend existed framework with relative role and propose programming model to enable dynamic access control. Finally, we implement the proposed framework using AspectJ and Java annotation.

  • Access Control is one of essential branches to provide system's security. Depending on what standards we apply, in general, there are Role-based access control, History-based access control. The first is based on subject's role, The later is based on subject's history. In fact, RBAC has been implemented, we are using it by purchasing some orders through the internet. But, HBAC is so complex that there will occur some errors on the system. This is more and more when HBAC is used with other access controls. So HBAC's formalization and model which are general enough to encompass a range of policies in using more than one access control model within a given system are important. To simplify these, we design the mathematical model called non-access structure. This Non-access structure contains to historical access list. If it is given subjects and objects, we look into subject grouping and object relation, and then we design Non-access structure. Then we can determine the permission based on history without conflict.
