To increase the performance of the light diffusion films, we controlled the three dimensional microstructure of the organic fillers(beads). The refractive index, the size distribution and the three dimensional distribution of beads play an important role to determine the performance of light diffusion films for the backlight unit of TFT-LCD.

Plant fats and oils contain phytosterols as naturally occurring constituents, which are present in pure or esterified form, or conjugated as glycosides. The predominant phytosterol is sitosterol and minor components are campesterol, stigmasterol, $\Delta^7$-avenasterol and brassicasterol. They play a key role in cell membrane function of plants as cholesterol in animals. Phytosterols have been known for many years for their properties for reducing blood cholesterol levels, as well as their other beneficial health effects for cancer preventive biological-active substances. The objective of this paper is to present a description of the recent advances in phytosterols for future research.

Satellite communication systems will play an important role in establishing high-speed information communication network ddue to the characteristics of flexibility of bandwidth, mobile communication, wide coverage, multipoint and broadcasting. Also satellite systems have the capability to supply terrestrial B-ISDN with flexible links for accessing networks as well as trunking networks. Therefore, satellites must provide compatibility to earth-based B-ISDN signalling interface, services and network capability. This paper proposed interworking model between terrestrial B-ISDN and satellite B-ISDN signalling protocol and illustrated basic call-process procedure of satellite B-ISDN signalling protocol supporting point-to-point and point-to-multipoint connection.

Whether a given tree is a subgraph of the interconnection network topology is one of the important problem in parallel computing. Trees are used as the underlying structure for divide and conquer algorithms and provide the solution spaces for NP-complete problems. Complete binary trees are the basic structure among those trees. Binomial trees play an important role in broadcasting messages in parallel networks. If binomial trees can be efficiently embedded in complex binary trees, broadcasting algorithms can be effeciently performed on the interconnection networks. In this paper, we present average dilation 2 embedding of binomial trees in complete binary trees.

A modification of the Hodgkin-Huxley equations was done with the changes of the binding sitea for the sodium and potassium channels. The computer simulation results agree well with the currant experiments. Thus, the contradictory problems that Suh had indicated previously can be solved. And also, the results show that the sodium and potassium channels play an important role in the firing and the leakage channel does not.

The Tactical Data Link System(TDLS) is a standardized communication link to exchange and interface positional, situational information, command and control in real time. It has been evaluated that the link would play an important role for tactical interoperability, situation awareness, and execution of joint operations in the future war. This work presents how to embody the TDLS through the systems engineering approach on the base of TDLS operating concept analysis of helicopters-groud units.

Generalized Pareto distributions play an important role in re-liability, extreme value theory, and other branches of applied probability and statistics. This family of distribution includes exponential distribution, Pareto distribution, and Power distribution. In this paper we establish some recurrences relations satisfied by the quotient moments of the upper record values from the generalized Pareto distribution. Further a char-acterization of this distribution based on recurrence relations of quotient moments of record values is presented.

Reactive oxygen species are highly reactive oxidant molecules and react with cellular components, causing oxidative damages. These damages may play a significant role in the causation of several chronic diseases. Antioxidative defence systems are present in the body to protect cells from oxidative damages. The first line of defence include dietary antioxidants and enzymes such as superoxide dismutase. Cynanchum wilfordii Hemeseley has been used for centuries as a tonic nutraceutical in China and Korea. In order to figure out the relationships between structural features and biological activity of the host-specific HC-toxin in maize, structurally related cyclic tetrapeptides, chlamydocin and CYL-2 were isolated, and their biological activities in maize were examined. Biological activities of preparations were determined by root growth inhibition and electrolyte leakage bioassays. Chlamydocin and CYL-2 showed toxicities to maize. However, the toxicities of these compounds were non-specific. Thus, the precise peptide ring structure of HC-toxin apparently does not play an important role in toxicity, while resistance of maize to HC-toxin is based on a precise ring conformation.
