Design and Fabrication of UWB Antenna Using the SRR for WLAN Band Rejection (SRR을 이용한 WLAN 대역 저지용 UWB 안테나의 설계 및 제작)

  • In this paper, a novel UWB(Ultra Wide-band) antenna with suppressed band of IEEE 802.11a($5.15{\sim}5.825\;GHz$) WLAN was designed and fabricated by using SRR(Split Ring Resonator) with band rejection property. MWS(Micro-wave Studio) of CST company was utilized in the design stage. The antenna was fabricated on a substrate, Rogers 4003, with the thickness of 0.8 mm and relative permittivity of 3.38. The measured result shows that the proposed antenna has a good return loss below -10 dB and group delay below 1nsec over UWB communication band($3.1{\sim}10.6\;GHz$) except WLAN band. It also shows the omni-directional radiation pattern.

Experimental Extraction of Effective Permittivity on the Structures of Coplanar Waveguides (코프래너 도파로 구조에서 S-파라메터를 이용한 유효유전상수 실험적 도출)

  • This paper proposed a very simple method of extracting an effective permittivity from the data of scattering parameters measured on the transmission line of coplanar waveguides in the frequency range of microwave or millimeter waves. This is an extracting method of an effective permittivity $\varepsilon$$_{eff}$ in the case of $\beta$$\ell$ =n$\pi$ (n=integer), where the value of S$_{11}$ changes abruptly following the operating frequency. The experimental value of the effective permittivity $\varepsilon$$_{eff}$ on a dielectric substrate of Rogers 4003$^{TM}$ material of $\varepsilon$$_{r}$ =3.38 showed the value of 2.042, which differs in the error of -3.4% to 8% from those calculated from the previously reported formulae. This result showed that the measurement method was very simple, as well as applied directly to the fabricated circuit patterns, even though the circuit patterns might be complicated or on the substrate of different dielectric materials.s.als.

  • In this paper, We intended to design various things for the realization of SoS(System on Substrate) with SIW in 24GHz ISM 밴드(24-24.25GHz). As part of them, We integrated SIW, transition and MPAA as SoS on the same substrate and investigated its characteristics. We used Rogers Ro4350 with relative permittivity of 3.48 and thickness of 20mil. As results of optimal design, insertion loss of the SIW with 11.55mm length showed 0.32dB and insertion loss of 0.19dB occurred in transition to $50{\Omega}$ microstrip. Characteristics of the MPAA integrated on the same substrate as SoS are very similar to those of stand-alone MPAA. But the integrated MPAA decreased by 0.58dB in gain, which is the sum of SIW insertion loss and transition insertion loss, and by 0.7dB in SLL compared that of stand-alone MPAA. However, the bandwidth was increased by 19.4% as it changed from 670MHz to 800Mhz.

Relation among the necessary and sufficient conditions of human relation (인간관계의 필요.충분조건들간의 관계)

  • This study tried to reveal the relation among the necessary and sufficient conditions of human relation, which is the core concept of human-centered counseling. The relation of these three conditions are quite different according to what we take as the main content of authenticity. If we take congruence as its content, as Rogers did in his early academic years, three conditions are equal in their importance as instruments which counselor can use. But, if we take presence as its content, as Rogers did in his later academic years, authenticity possesses central position while using empathy and unconditional positive regard as its instruments. In this relation, we can say authenticity is a continuous growing process of self realization. And it also can be sad that the three necessary and sufficient conditions compose productive counseling relation inviting both counselor and client to the self realizing process.

The Predatory Behavior of Green Mirid Bug, Cytorhinus lividipennis Reuter, on Brown Planthopper Eggs in Different Temperature Conditions (온도에 따른 등검은황록장님노린재 (Cyrtorhinus lividipennis Reuter)의 벼멸구 알에 대한 포식습성)

  • The functional responses of the female Cyrtorhinus lividipennis on brown planthopper (BPH), Nilaparvata lugens, eggs and their predation behavior were investigated at six temperature conditions; 20, 23, 26, 29, 32, and $35^{\circ}C$. C. lividipennis was found to prefer young BPH eggs, especially 3-day-old eggs the most. The functional responses for female C. lividipennis on BPH eggs fitted the Holling's Type-I true predator-prey Rogers' (1972) model at all temperatures tested except $35^{\circ}C$ at which the negative Th value was produced. With the temperature increased up to 32$^{\circ}C$, the instantaneous attacking rate(a) increased from 0.1923 at $20^{\circ}C$ to 0.5085 at $32^{\circ}C$, while the handling time (Th) was gradually decreased as low as 0.0151 at $32^{\circ}C$. C. lividipenis preferred the BPH eggs laid on the upper part of rice stem when the BPH egg density was high, but there was no significant difference in the preference when the egg density was low. The preference was more obvious in high temperature conditions such as above 29$^{\circ}C$.

Forecasting methodology of future demand market (미래 수요시장의 예측 방법론)

  • The method of predicting the future may be predicted by technical characteristics or technical performance. Therefore, technology prediction is used in the field of strategic research that can produce economic and social benefits. In this study, we predicted the future market through the study of how to predict the future with these technical characteristics. The future prediction method was studied through the prediction of the time when the market occupied according to the demand of special product. For forecasting market demand, we proposed the future forecasting model through comparison of representative quantitative analysis methods such as CAGR model, BASS model, Logistic model and Gompertz Growth Curve. This study combines Rogers' theory of innovation diffusion to predict when products will spread to the market. As a result of the research, we developed a methodology to predict when a particular product will mature in the future market through the spread of various factors for the special product to occupy the market. However, there are limitations in reducing errors in expert judgment to predict the market.

A Study on the Factors Affecting Diffusion of Open Source Software (공개소프트웨어 도입 및 확산의 영향요인 연구)

  • OSS(Open source software) pursues the freedom to have access to open source and offers several advantages, over the proprietary software, to enterprises. Based upon Rogers(1995)' innovation-diffusion process, we assume that attributes of innovations includes five characteristics of innovations: relative advantage, compatibility, complexity, trialability, and observability, and that firms' perceptions of these characteristics predict the rate of adoption of OSS. To test this hypothesis, we presents a survey result from 201 companies and institutions concerning the use of OSS. Statistical analysis shows that adoption is highly correlated with each of those characteristics of innovations, but the regression analysis indicates that only compatibility and observability have effects on the adoption of OSS. This implies that intrinsic value of OSS is important, but unless the appropriate service package for improving IT environment is provided, it is not easy to change the perspective of corporate customers more favorable toward OSS use. As a conclusion, the academic and practical implications are also discussed.

Effect of perceptions of attributes of Cyber Education on the adoption decision (사이버학습 속성인식이 학습참여결정에 미치는 영향 분석)

  • By entering the information society, the trend of increasing use of the cyber education to deliver high-Quality educational programs is likely to continue. For instance, supported by the government agencies, central officials training institute is expending vast amounts of money for the installation of cyber education programs. However, much of the research that has been done concerns the discrepancy between the potential and the actual use of technology in the field of education and training. The intent of this study was to identify the decision of the adoption of cyber education among national officials who had just peceived the existence the cyber education programs which would be used for their professional training and development, and to investigate the relationships between the Rogers' five attributes of innovation (relative advantage, compatibility, easy of use, observability, trialiability) and their decision of adoption. The results of the study generally concurred with Rogers diffusion of innovation theory revealing that perceived compatibility, easy of use, and observability of cyber education are significant predictors of decision to participate in cyber education.

  • The geographic distribution and variation for Rhinogobius brunneus were surveyed by means of allozymic and morphological analyses and it was revealed that the Korean populations of R. brunneus comprise three distinct types, Type-A, Type-B, and Type-C, which show considerable differentiation to a degree of interspecific level(Rogers' S(1972): $S_{A-B}$=0.631, $S_{A-C}$=0.628, $S_{B-C}$=0.661). In addition, no evidence of gene flow among the types was found at sympatric area and it is assumed that reproductive isolation is completed. Moreover there is microhabitat segregation according to the distance from river mouth among each types and which segregation was regarded as a factor to facilitate reproductive isolating mechanism. Therefore, based on the evidence presented above, these three types of R. brunneus are considered as typical discrete species.

A 5-GHz Oscillator Using Frequency-Locked Loop with a Single Resonator (단일-공진기로 구성된 주파수-잠금 회로를 이용한 5-GHz 발진기)

  • In this paper, the design and fabrication of a frequency-locked-loop(FLL) 5-GHz oscillator with a single resonator is presented. The proposed oscillator is the simplified version of the previous FLL oscillator with two separate resonators in the VCO and frequency detector. The resonator is commonly used in the VCO and frequency detector of the proposed oscillator configuration. The 5-GHz oscillator is implemented on the hetero-multilayer substrate composed of a Rogers' RO4350B laminate, which has excellent high-frequency performance, and the commercial FR4 three-layer substrate. The frequency locking occurs at approximately 5 GHz and has an output power of 3.8 dBm. The phase noise has a free-run VCO phase noise at frequencies above 1 kHz, and an FLL background noise at frequencies below 1 kHz. For this loop-filter, the phase noise showed an improvement of approximately 12 dB at the offset-frequency of 100 Hz.
