  • Field robot represented by excavator can be applied for various working in manufacturing, construction, agriculture etc. Because of the flexibility of its multi-joint mechanism and the high power of hydraulic actuators. Since the excavator operates in the hazardous working circumstance, operators exposed in harmful environment. Therefore, automation system has been investigated to protect from the harmful environment. In this paper, the method to construct the remote control system is proposed. The remote control system is consisted of a manual and auto mode. Manual mode controls a hydraulic cylinder as open loop control. and auto mode controls the end effecter of excavator using tracking control system. The efficiency of remote control system was evaluated through the field test.

  • Off-line programming and robot calibration through simulation are essential when setting up a robot in a robot automation production line. In this study, we developed a new robot calibration method to match the CAD data of the production line with the measurement data on the site using 3D scanner. The proposed method calibrates the robot using 3D point cloud data through Iterative Closest Point algorithm. Registration is performed in three steps. First, vertices connected by three planes are extracted from CAD data as feature points for registration. Three planes are reconstructed from the scan point data located around the extracted feature points to generate corresponding feature points. Finally, the transformation matrix is calculated by minimizing the distance between the feature points extracted through the ICP algorithm. As a result of applying the software to the automobile welding robot installation, the proposed method can calibrate the required accuracy to within 1.5mm and effectively shorten the set-up time, which took 5 hours per robot unit, to within 40 minutes. By using the developed system, it is possible to shorten the OLP working time of the car body assembly line, shorten the precision teaching time of the robot, improve the quality of the produced product and minimize the defect rate.

  • Robot and application of IT skill of construction industry are slow comparatively than another thing industry by the feature. This research proposes progress management and real time information gathering through construction automation and RFID focused on steel structure construction. Building for RTPM system, must consider various variables and surrounding situation in construction field and it is the most important and difficult matter that draw right requirement and grasp relation between this requirements to accomplish one suitable task considering these environment. Therefore, in this study analyzes requirement and target for RTPM system based on scenario that is easy to draw requirement and apply this to use case model. Presented method suggests that represent relation between goals and way that refines goal systematically from requirement of RTPM system. And it could express for visualization through the Way that attaches nonfunctional elements of system with system internal goal.

  • This paper proposes a method of designing and controlling delta robots with low-cost DC motors, which are widely used in the automation process. Simulation was performed by interpreting the mechanics and dynamics of the delta robot, and based on this analysis, low-cost DC motor was selected. Experiments were conducted to obtain characteristic values of motors and the current-position cascade control system was designed and implemented. In order to verify the feasibility of the proposed system, the experiment to check that the end-effector of the delta robot follows the target path was progressed. Through the experiment, the limitations of using low-cost motors were overcome by designing compensation algorithms and the performance of the position control was verified.

  • For a sophisticated humanoid that explores and learns its environment and interacts with humans, anthropomorphic physical behavior is much desired. The human vision system orients each eye with three-degree-of-freedom (3-DOF) in the directions of horizontal, vertical and torsional axes. Thus, in order to accurately replicate human vision system, it is imperative to have a simulator with 3-DOF end-effector. We present a 3-DOF anthropomorphic oculomotor system that reproduces realistic human eye movements for human-sized humanoid applications. The parallel link architecture of the oculomotor system is sized and designed to match the performance capabilities of the human vision. In this paper, a biologically-inspired mechanical design and the structural kinematics of the prototype are described in detail. The motility of the prototype in each axis of rotation was replicated through computer simulation, while performance tests comparable to human eye movements were recorded.

  • There have been continuous efforts on automating welding processes. This automation process could be said to fall into two categories, weld seam tracking and weld quality evaluation. Recently, the attempts to achieve these two functions simultaneously are on the increase. For the study presented in this paper, a vision sensor is made, a vision system is constructed and using this, the 3 dimensional geometry of the bead is measured on-line. For the application as in welding, which is the characteristic of nonlinear process, a fuzzy controller is designed. And with this, an adaptive control system is proposed which acquires the bead height and the coordinates of the point on the bead along the horizontal fillet joint, performs seam tracking with those data, and also at the same time, controls the bead geometry to a uniform shape. A communication system, which enables the communication with the industrial robot, is designed to control the bead geometry and to track the weld seam. Experiments are made with varied offset angles from the pre-taught weld path, and they showed the adaptive system works favorable results.

  • Generally, die polishing is a lime consuming process, resulting in 30∼50% of the whole die manufacturing time. However, die polishing has not been automated yet, since it needs a great deal of experience and skill. This paper describes a new development of automated system for die polishing and focuses on the successful achievements of the element techniques to realize from hand skill to automation, as followings: (1) The 5 axes polishing system by the aid of robot with 2 degrees of freedom, is developed for the application of curved surface die. (2) The CAM system realizes a 5 axes tool path control for polishing and measuring. (3) The conductive elastic tool is able to meet curved surfaces of die and gives a high efficient and quality polishing characteristics. (4) The surface roughness measurement device with noncontact laser is developed and has a high reliability without surface damage.

  • Robots are widely used for welding automation in the shipbuilding industry. Because of the distinguishing mark of the shipbuilding, many robots conduct each other welding jobs at a point of time. The manager/operator stay in a place apart from working site for safety reason, but need to observe the progress of work and the status of robots. On this account, the monitoring system for welding robots has become essential. We developed a monitoring system by which, many people can monitor robot's status simultaneously at separated locations through the web. The monitoring system consists of Server and Client, where the server keep connection to robots and deliver client's request to robots and cli...

  • This Study Propose A New Approach To Impliment A Intelligent Robot Control Based on Voice Recognition For Smart Factory Automation Since human usually communicate each other by voices, it is very convenient if voice is used to command humanoid robots or the other type robot system. A lot of researches has been performed about voice recognition systems for this purpose. Hidden Markov Model is a robust statistical methodology for efficient voice recognition in noise environments. It has being tested in a wide range of applications. A prediction approach traditionally applied for the text compression and coding, Prediction by Partial Matching which is a finite-context statistical modeling technique and can predict the next characters based on the context, has shown a great potential in developing novel solutions to several language modeling problems in speech recognition. It was illustrated the reliability of voice recognition by experiments for humanoid robot with 26 joints as the purpose of application to the manufacturing process.
