A study Note on the Production Process of the Year-end Special Documentary on the Inter-Korean Summit of KTV

  • This paper is about KTV special documentary "Baekdu to Halla, It's Peace Now" which looks back on the journey of President Moon Jae-in to the 3rd inter-Korean summit following former Presidents Kim Dae-jung and Roh Moo-hyun, following the 2018 inter-Korean summit held under the slogan of 'Peace and a New Future'. The documentary was produced in the form of a road documentary that looked back at the meaningful results of the summit meeting with the MC through related places and various people, narrated by singer Kang San-Ae. Based on this case, the difference between the development of road documentaries and general informational documentaries about the existing production process is identified, and the differences between the production format, production characteristics, and development method of road documentaries are described. I would like to present an example of how it can be desirable to set the format of the road documentary according to the production environment of broadcasting companies and planning factors.

  • Noise map is becoming an increasingly important tool supporting noise policy. In order to main am a quiet environment of urban areas, noise map was developed by using GIS technique which combines geographic and noise informations with a database management system. By evaluating various methods of the spatial anal: sis, it was concluded that the inverse distance weighted method gave the best results and was applied to develope the noise maps of road noise.

Filtering-Based Method and Hardware Architecture for Drivable Area Detection in Road Environment Including Vegetation (초목을 포함한 도로 환경에서 주행 가능 영역 검출을 위한 필터링 기반 방법 및 하드웨어 구조)

  • Drivable area detection, one of the main functions of advanced driver assistance systems, means detecting an area where a vehicle can safely drive. The drivable area detection is closely related to the safety of the driver and it requires high accuracy with real-time operation. To satisfy these conditions, V-disparity-based method is widely used to detect a drivable area by calculating the road disparity value in each row of an image. However, the V-disparity-based method can falsely detect a non-road area as a road when the disparity value is not accurate or the disparity value of the object is equal to the disparity value of the road. In a road environment including vegetation, such as a highway and a country road, the vegetation area may be falsely detected as the drivable area because the disparity characteristics of the vegetation are similar to those of the road. Therefore, this paper proposes a drivable area detection method and hardware architecture with a high accuracy in road environments including vegetation areas by reducing the number of false detections caused by V-disparity characteristic. When 289 images provided by KITTI road dataset are used to evaluate the road detection performance of the proposed method, it shows an accuracy of 90.12% and a recall of 97.96%. In addition, when the proposed hardware architecture is implemented on the FPGA platform, it uses 8925 slice registers and 7066 slice LUTs.

  • This study is intended to propose the environment friendly lighting which can be excluded the element of obtrusive light(glare, spill light) and to make the sight environment of the external and internal road more comfortable as newly approaching the lower positioned lighting from the current high pole lighting. Taking account of the current situation of putting the stress on the road sight scene. It is proposed the study focused on the aesthetic design for playing a role of scenery. For this, it is searched used situation of the low light at interior of the country and abroad and tried to find the improvement. Also it is tried find out how to raise the effectiveness. And throughout the site inspection and the data searching about the road facility of a road to be installed the low height lighting, it is suggested the standard of the lighting installation and the direction for the future on the light design and development of the low height lighting which is suitable for the domestic situation.

  • In this study, the damages and condition of road pavement were analyzed using pavement management system (PMS) for the structural improvement. Problems of road pavement management were issued by in-depth interview with workers in charge of plant, construction and supervision. By surveying advanced road pavement management, the way how to improve road pavement management in Seoul was discussed. In conclusion, it is necessary to take measures against road heavy traffic and heavy rain in summer. It was found that the problem of early damages of road pavement due to uniform layout with analyzing life cycle cost (LCC). According to the results of survey, it was suggested to strength practical training and to control precisely the temperature of pavement in the process of production and construction.

  • Recently, with the increase of the interest to global environmental problems, bicycle has been recognized as the most environmentally friendly transportation mode. To promote cycling, it is necessary to ensure road space that bicycle can keep running safely and smoothly. This paper aims to evaluate the district with rearranged road space and network, given priority to bicycle, comparing the traditional district which are given priority to car from viewpoints of environment, safety and accessibility. As evaluation indicators, the carbon dioxide emission on the environment. the number of collision between car and bicycle on safety and an accumulated frequency measure on accessibility were used. As the result, it was clarified that bicycle road measures to create bicycle road by reallocation of road space and form bicycle exclusive network were effective.

  • The aim of this research was to compare driver's workload among AHS (Automate Highway Systems) road sections in a virtual AHS environment that is based on a re Korean expressway in order to predict and compare the workloads imposed by the change (driver-vehicle interface and vehicle control authority. Road sections included the M (Manual Lane), TL1 (Transition Lane to enter the automated lane), AL (Automated Lane TL2 (Transition Lane to enter the manual lane after the end of automated driving), an post-AHS manual lane.

Change of Plant Community after Road construction -Case Study on Seongsamjae Road in Chirisan National Park- (도로건설이 식물생태계에 미치는 영향 -지리산국립공원 성삼재관통도로를 사례로-)

  • 도로건설에 의한 식물생태계 영향을 종합적으로 고찰하기 위하여 도로로부터 산림 내부에 이르는 거리에 따른 식물군집구조의 변화, 비탈면에 도입한 외래종의 식생천이 및 확산현황, 귀화식물의 분포현황을 파악하였다 도로로부터 거리에 따른 식물군집구조 분석결가 도로건설로 인해 발생된 비탈면과 비탈면 끝지점에서 산림방향으로 10~20m 구간까지 종구성의 변화가 나타났다. 절개비탈면 급속녹화용으로 도입된 큰김의털(Tall Fescue) 경관 및 식물생태계에 악영향을 미치고 있었다 성토비탈면에 파종된 외래종들은 빗물이나 바람을 따라 산림 내부로 유입되어 햇빛이 잘 드는 계곡부나 산림 내부에 잔조하고 있어 식물생태계에 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 판단되었다 성삼재관통도로변에서 조사된 귀화식물은 총 13과 35속 44종 1변종으로 45종류이었고 도로건설로 나지가 넓게 분포하는 곳이나 이용객이 집중되는 지역에서 출현종수 및 빈도가 높았다.

Crosswalk Detection using Feature Vectors in Road Images (특징 벡터를 이용한 도로영상의 횡단보도 검출)

  • Crosswalk detection is an important part of the Pedestrian Protection System in autonomous vehicles. Different methods of crosswalk detection have been introduced so far using crosswalk edge features, the distance between crosswalk blocks, laser scanning, Hough Transformation, and Fourier Transformation. However, most of these methods failed to detect crosswalks accurately, when they are damaged, faded away or partly occluded. Furthermore, these methods face difficulties when applying on real road environment where there are lot of vehicles. In this paper, we solve this problem by first using a region based binarization technique and x-axis histogram to detect the candidate crosswalk areas. Then, we apply Support Vector Machine (SVM) based classification method to decide whether the candidate areas contain a crosswalk or not. Experiment results prove that our method can detect crosswalks in different environment conditions with higher recognition rate even they are faded away or partly occluded.

  • The road sign in dynamic traffic system is an important element which affects on human cognitive performance on driving. Web-based vision system simulator was developed to examine the cognition time of the road sign in dynamic environment. This experiment was designed in within-subject design with two factors; vehicle speed and the amount of information of the traffic sign. It measured the cognition time of the road sign through two evaluation methods; the subjective test with vision system simulator and computational cognitive model. In these two evaluations of human cognitive performance under the dynamic traffic environment, it demonstrated that subject's cognition time was affected by both the amount of information of traffic sign and driving speed.
