  • To offer basic data for restoration technology development of the evergreen broad-leaved forest, this researcher did monitoring on the restoration project of the evergreen broad-leaved forest implemented in Dadohaesang(Marine) National Park for three years starting the year 2005, As a result of the monitoring job of tree height and survival rate of the evergreen broad-leaved forest on the 5 model afforestation-testing sites subsequent to the slanting surface, size of island, and whether the pastured livestock exist or not, it was found that the tree height & survival rate of the evergreen broad-leaved trees planted on the ridge parts of the southwest slanting surface were in better condition than those of the evergreen broad-leaved trees planted on the ridge parts of the northeast slanting surface. The survival rate of the evergreen broad-leaved tree planted on a big island was revealed to be higher than that of the evergreen broad-leaved tree planted on a small island. In addition, the survival rate of the evergreen broad-leaved tree planted in a place where livestock was pastured was revealed to be much lower than that of the evergreen broad-leaved tree planted in a place where there was no livestock. Conclusively, there showed a good tree hight and survival rate of the evergreen broad-leaved tree planted on the ridge parts of the southwest slanting surface, on a big island, and at the place where there was no pastured livestock.

  • This study was conducted to serve as a basis for establishing a stable production of proso millet on the rotational paddy-upland field by looking out the physicochemical and moisture characteristics of soil and the growth characteristics of proso millet by ridge width. Plant height showed Manhongchal was the smallest 71.3 cm in 240 cm wide of ridge in the first year, Ibeakchal was the highest 69.7 cm in 60 cm wide in the second year, Hwanggeumchal was the highest 72.8 cm in 60 cm wide in the first year. The retention time of the excess water in the soil during cultivation was extended wider the width of ridge. The variation width of the water content was higher by the wider the width of ridge. Yield components showed the longest ear length were 35.1 cm of Manhongchal, 34.8 cm of Ibeakchal in 60 cm wide of ridge in the first year. As the width of ridge extended, ear weight of all variety increased. 1,000 seed weight of the 60 cm wide of ridge was Manhongchal 6.8%, Ibeakchal 46.2% heavier than the 240 cm wide of ridge. Yield showed Manhongchal 221, Ibeakchal 223, Hwanggeumchal $225kg{\cdot}10a^{-1}$ in 60 cm wide of ridge in the first year. The similar pattern of amount showed Manhongchal 278, Ibeakchal 221, Hwanggeumchal $200kg{\cdot}10a^{-1}$ in 60 cm wide of ridge in the second year. This showed Manhongchal 103%, Ibeakchal 119%, Hwanggeumchal 85.2% was more than the 240 cm wide of ridge.

  • I followed the results of Lee and Min(1996) for classification of the months of cold and warm winter. The winter of 1992 and 1984 recorded extraordinary cold and warm. Study of the Synoptic Climatology on the January's cold and warm winter is below: (1) Climatology's characteristic. Temperature of extremely high temperature month is higher compared with extremely low temperature month. Also precipitation is more than over low temperature month compared with extremely high temperature month. (2) In circulation of 500hPa surface. (1) Extremely high temperature month At 500hPa, negative geopotential height anomalies in high latitude, three trough developed over eastern Canada. In midlatitude, a deep trough persisted in the central North Pacific and conspicuous positive height anomalies showed over northwestern Europe, Where a blocking anticyclone developed. It had been warmer than normal since last year in Korea due mainly to positive height anomalies stretched from central Siberia (2) Extremely low temperature month Appeared the strong meridional circulation and negative height anomalies showed from Far East to the Mid-Pacific and appeared ridge in the west of the North America and Atlantic. Alutien Low shows negative deviation during 1984. In northern hemisphere shows negative deviation. Therefore, we can show that the surface pressure distribution and height distribution of 500hPa level are closely connected with each other as parts of general circulation. (3) The characteristics of the general circulation pattern of the 500hPa (1) Extremely high temperature month is high than extremely low temperature month1984 in Zonal index (2) The majority type is S type in 500hPa level circulation of extremely high temperature month but extremely high temperature month is M type (3) The wave number in 500hPa all shows 3 wave. So can not distinguished by only predominant wave number pattern.

  • A curvature variable taper is proposed for a waveguide-microstrip transition. It is applied to a ridge waveguide. The curvature depends on the taper length and difference of waveguide's height and microstrip substrate's height. The taper is manufactured easier than the other tapers. It's reflection coefficient is smaller than the parabolic taper's below one wavelengrh. The results of experiment show that S$_{11}$ is below -20dB and SS$_{21}$ is about -0.5dB in the band of 10~15 GHz. These results are good agreement with the theoritical values.

  • Forest fire danger rate of thinning area was lower than that of non thinning area, because height rate of leewardside in burned stem of tree, damage rate of crown and mortality of tree in thinning area were 30.8%, 37% and 48.4% lower than that in non-thinning area, respectively. Intensity of forest fire varied depending upon topographical condition up slope, down slope, aspect, location as well as species, breast height diameter and forest tree density. Especially, a mountaintop area was burned down when forest fire was spread to up slope ridge of mountain.

  • This study involves field monitoring of hydrlolgic characteristics of paddy fields under common irrigation practice, statistical analysis of maximum retention storage, determination of CNs for antecedent moisture conditions. Curve numbers were estimated from observed rainfall-runoff relationship of two years data. The estimated CN for AMC-II was 78, and the CNs for AMC-I and II were 63 and 88, respectively. A water balance model was used to find the effect of ridge height changes and initial ponding depth in paddy fields on runoff. The probability distribution of initial ponding depth was also investigated. The initial ponding depth follows normal probability distribution. Initial ponding depth corresponding 10%, 50%, and 90% probability were considered to be equivalent to AMC-I, AMC-II, and AMC-III, respectively. Long-term runoff data from paddy fields were simulated by a water balance model using recorded climate data, ridge height and estimated initial ponding depth derived from probability distribution. The estimated CNs using simulated runoff were 70, 79, and 89 for CN-I, CN-II, and CN-III, respectively.

  • This paper describes an investigation of the net wind loads on solar panels and wind loads on the underlying roof surface for panels mounted parallel to pitched roofs of domestic buildings. Typical solar panel array configurations were studied in a wind tunnel and the aerodynamic shape factors on the panels were put in a form appropriate for the Australian/New Zealand Wind Actions Standard AS/NZS 1170.2:2011. The results can also be used to obtain more refined design data on individual panels within an array. They also suggest values for the aerodynamic shape factors on the roof surface under the panels, based on a gust wind speed at roof height, of ${\pm}0.5$ for wind blowing parallel to the ridge, and ${\pm}0.6$ for wind blowing perpendicular to the ridge. The net loads on solar arrays in the middle portion of the roof are larger than those on the same portion of the roof without any solar panels, thus resulting in increased loads on the underlying roof structure.

  • This study was carried out to provide basic data for active control of the anticipated damage through investigation and analysis of geographical and spatial occurrence distribution of oak wilt disease area. The damage of oak wilt disease was analyzed by investigating all the damage trees caused by oak wilt disease from 2011 to 2015 in three areas of Gwangtan-myeon, Paju-si, Gyeonggi -do. As a result, the closer to the ridge the more damage of the oak wilt was generated. Therefore, it is necessary to select the central management area from 0 to 40 m based on the ridge line for more effective control, and to intensively control the area. Also, it is difficult to predict the occurrence of damage by the slope because the damage situation represent differently by the region. By the diameter class, it was analyzed that the number of damaged trees was the largest in the average diameter class with the most number of the trees in each region.
