MMOG User Participation Based Decentralized Consensus Scheme and Proof of Participation Analysis on the Bryllite Blockchain System

  • Proof of Work (PoW) based blockchains have limitations in throughput, time consumption, and energy efficiency. In these systems, a miner will consume significant time and resources to obtain a reward for contributing to the blockchain. To overcome these limitations, recent research on blockchains are focused on accelerating the speed, scalability, and enhancing the security level. By enhancing specific procedures of blockchain system, the level of data integrity supported by the blockchain can become more robust, and efficient. In this paper, a new blockchain consensus model based on the Bryllite Consensus Protocol (BCP) is proposed to support a hyper-connected massively multiplayer online game (MMOG) ecosystem. The BCP scheme enables users to participate directly in new consensus processes through a Proof of Participation (PoP) algorithm. In this model, the consensus algorithm has a simpler form while maintaining high security level. In addition, because the BCP scheme gives users an equal chance to make a contribution to the blockchain, rewards are distributed in an equal fashion, which motivates user participation. The analysis of the proposed scheme is applied to the Bryllite consortium blockchain system (homed in Hong Kong), which is a new blockchain network developed for international game industries, gamers, and game events.

보상과 보안의식이 육군지식포탈 사용자 의도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Reward and Security Awareness on User Intention of Knowledge Portal Service for ROK Army)

  • As the importance of Knowledge Management System (KMS) in the military increases, Republic of Korea Army (ROK Army) developed Army Knowledge Portal. Although the members in the military are encouraged to use the portal, few members currently use it. This study was conducted to find variables to predict the user's intention to use the portal, which contributes to activating the use of Army Knowledge Portal in the army. On the basis of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), ten variables such as perceived ease of use, general information security awareness, information security awareness, expectation for external rewards, expectation for relationships, sense of self-worth, attitude toward compliance with security policy, attitude toward knowledge sharing, intention of non-combat knowledge sharing, and intention of combat knowledge sharing were considered as independent variables. 105 participants on active duty who currently use or have experience to use the portal participated in this study. The results indicated that general information security awareness and information security awareness increases compliance with the information security policy. In addition, the attitude toward knowledge sharing is enhanced by expectations for relationship and sense of self-worth. Based on the results, the authors propose the need for policy alternatives to reinforce the reward system and security policy, which activates the use of Knowledge Portal Service for ROK Army.

  • Various construction bonds and warranties critically burden the general contractor. Also, sporadic or cumulative delays of progress payment by the owner can further trap the contractor in a financial quagmire. Facing the possibility of cash flow deficiency and callous response from the banks, most construction firms may become financially incapable of market competition, and attractive project tenders become a bidding game among few deep-pocket players. The downside of such market environment is that the depth of pocket, rather than that of professional competency dictates the choice of market winners. In Taiwan, this has been a potential crisis to the construction industry after the financial crisis which started out since 2008. To encounter this problem, this research will examine the means to better manage the construction industry. Essentially, a credit guarantee system (CGS) is the prime solution to strengthen a bank's confidence in any particular construction firm. Thus establishing a national platform which evaluates and rewards a construction firm's overall credibility is pivotal, and this third-party rated credit can help a bank to render a loan more wisely. Finally, this paper will propose the ideal operating schemes of construction-specific CGS in Taiwan and a credit scoring prototype model for construction industry, as reference for the government and banks, respectively.

팀제가 팀 임파워먼트에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구;KBS 팀제를 중심으로 (The Empirical Study on the Effects of the Team Empowerment caused by the Team;Based Organizational Structure in KBS)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 팀제가 팀임파워먼트에 미치는 영향을 분석하는데 있다. KBS 팀제에서 구성원들을 임파워먼트 시키는데 걸림돌이 되는 여건이나 심리적 상태들을 파악하여 조직의 임파워먼트를 어떻게 실현할 것인가에 대한 시사점을 제시하는데 있다. 횡단적 연구를 위하여 국내외 문헌을 조사하고 KBS 내에서 회수한 설문결과와 개인면담, 그리고 관찰의견을 종합하여 검토하였다. 설문지는 460부를 SPSS 12.0 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 팀제에 대한 부정적인 응답자가 24.2%p가 즐어들었고 긍정적인 응답자는 1.29%p가 줄어들었다. 이는 부정적인 평가를 하던 구성원들이 긍정적인 평가자로 전환되어 팀제에 대한 이해가 확산된다는 측면에서 발전적이라 할 수 있으나, 문제점에 대한 지속적 해결노력이 필요하다는 것을 시사한다 하겠다. 둘째, 임파워먼트는 개인과 조직차원에서 생산성을 향상시키는 것으로 나타났다. 팀 임파워먼트를 높이기 위해서는 경영진이 변혁적 리더십을 발휘해야 하고, 낮게 나타난 경영진과 조직구성원 사이에 신뢰가 무엇보다 먼저 향상되어야 할 것이다. 셋째, 모든 본부와 직급에서 업무기피자에 대한 부담이 큰 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 결과는 전체 팀원에게 고른 업무분담이 되고 있지 못하다는 것을 뜻한다. 그리고 구성원들은 회사의 평가보상시스템을 깊게 신뢰하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 팀의 규모와 업무배정에 좀 더 세심한 배려가 필요하고 평가보상 체계에 사각지대가 생기지 않도록 현행 평가 제도를 보완하여야 할 것이다.

일 대학병원 근로자의 지식공유 의도에 미친 영향분석 (The Analysis of Factors affecting Workers' Knowledge Sharing Intention in a University Hospital)

  • The purpose of this study is to analysis factors affecting workers' knowledge sharing intention in a hospital. This study is based on personal factors such as perceived incentives, perceived reciprocal benefits, perceived behavioral control, and subjective norm. Also, there are organizational factors such as organizational climate, CEO's support, rewards system, trust, and IT system. Data were assessed using 107 employees who work at C university hospital in Chunkcheong-do and collected with self-administered questionnaires from April 1 to 13 in 2013. This study was analyzed SPSS 18 by using frequency and multi regression analysis. The results of the study were as follows. First, knowledge sharing intention among personal factors was statistically significant in perceived behavioral control. Second, the awareness of knowledge sharing intention among organizational factors was turned out to be positive effect for CEO's support and trust. This study was identified a couple of factors affecting knowledge sharing intention between personal and organizational factors. The the implications of these factors are discussed and areas for developing hospital management strategies are fostered knowledge sharing.

Possibilities of reinforcement learning for nuclear power plants: Evidence on current applications and beyond

  • Nuclear energy plays a crucial role in energy supply in the 21st century, and more and more Nuclear Power Plants (NPPs) will be in operation to contribute to the development of human society. However, as a typical complex system engineering, the operation and development of NPPs require efficient and stable control methods to ensure the safety and efficiency of nuclear power generation. Reinforcement learning (RL) aims at learning optimal control policies via maximizing discounted long-term rewards. The reward-oriented learning paradigm has witnessed remarkable success in many complex systems, such as wind power systems, electric power systems, coal fire power plants, robotics, etc. In this work, we try to present a systematic review of the applications of RL on these complex systems, from which we believe NPPs can borrow experience and insights. We then conduct a block-by-block investigation on the application scenarios of specific tasks in NPPs and carried out algorithmic research for different situations such as power startup, collaborative control, and emergency handling. Moreover, we discuss the possibilities of further application of RL methods on NPPs and detail the challenges when applying RL methods on NPPs. We hope this work can boost the realization of intelligent NPPs, and contribute to more and more research on how to better integrate RL algorithms into NPPs.

의사결정나무 기반 디지털품질경영 예측 모형 개발 연구 (A Study on Developing a Predictive Model for Digital Quality Management Based on Decision Tree)

  • This study aims to develop a comprehensive predictive model for Digital Quality Management (DQM) and to analyze the impact of various quality activities on different levels of DQM. By employing the Classification And Regression Tree (CART) methodology, we are able to present predictive scenarios that elucidate how varying quantitative levels of quality activities influence the five major categories of DQM. The findings reveal that the operation level of quality circles and the promotion level of suggestion systems are pivotal in enhancing DQM levels. Furthermore, the study emphasizes that an effective reward system is crucial to maximizing the effectiveness of these quality activities. Through a quantitative approach, this study demonstrates that for ventures and small-medium enterprises, expanding suggestion systems and implementing robust reward mechanisms can significantly improve DQM levels, particularly when the operation of quality circles is challenging. The research provides valuable insights, indicating that even in the absence of fully operational quality circles, other mechanisms can still drive substantial improvements in DQM. These results are particularly relevant in the context of digital transformation, offering practical guidelines for enterprises to establish and refine their quality management strategies. By focusing on suggestion systems and rewards, businesses can effectively navigate the complexities of digital transformation and achieve higher levels of quality management.

재활용 분리배출에 따른 분리 체계 가이드라인 제안 (Suggestion of Guidelines for Separation System According to Recycling Separate Discharge)

  • 본 연구는 재활용 의무 대상 제품 포장재의 재활용 분리 체계에 대하여 사용자 관점에서 새로운 디자인 가이드라인을 제시하는 것이다. 국내 사례는 현행법과 재활용 분리배출에 대한 문헌을 사전 연구하였고, 국외 사례는 아시아, 유럽, 북아메리카 대륙에서 재활용 분리배출에 대한 성과를 거둔 도시를 각각 1개씩 선정 조사하였다. 사용자의 긍정적인 참여 결과의 피드백과 올바른 분리배출에 관한 보상이라는 사용자 중심 디자인관점에서 ID(Identification) 사용자 분리배출 체계를 제안한다. 이 체계는 명시된 개인식별 코드가 부착된 분리배출 전용 용기와 개인용 애플리케이션을 이용한다. 사용자는 분리배출 전용 용기에 기재된 분리배출 표시와 분리배출 요령에 따라 해당 분리배출 품목을 전용 용기에 배출하며, 선별처리 결과가 사용자에게 통보되고, 이에 따른 보상이 이루어지는 체계이다. 이 분리배출 체계는 사용자의 적극적인 참여를 유발할 수 있는 분리배출 체계라는 의미를 가진다.

물리치료사의 직무관련 근골격계 통증과 직무 스트레스 (Work-Related Musculoskeletal Pain and Job Stress in Physical Therapists)

  • This study investigated the relationships between Work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs), contributing factors, and the occupational stress of physical therapists. Self-reported questionnaires were given to 180 physical therapists in Gangwon Province. Variables examined included the prevalence of pain sites related to WMSDs; pain intensity; pain pattern; and job stress, which is thought to involve the physical environment; job demand; insufficient job control; interpersonal conflict; job insecurity; organizational system; reward system; and occupational culture. Among physical therapists, work-related musculoskeletal pain commonly affected the low back (30.1%), shoulder (29.3%), and wrist (12.2%). The sites of work-related musculoskeletal pain treated medically were the low back (22.8%), shoulder (19.8%), neck (12.7%), and wrist (12.1%). "Repeating the same work constantly" was suggested to be the major cause of the pain. The younger therapists were significantly more likely to feel high job stress due to the physical environment (p<.05), job demand (p<.05), and organizational system (p<.01). Women were more likely to feel greater job stress related to job demand, insufficient job control, the organization system, and job rewards. Men were more likely to feel greater job stress related to job insecurity. Weak positive relationships were observed between work-related musculoskeletal pain and job stress, which is thought to involve the physical environment; job demand; insufficient job control; interpersonal conflict; job insecurity; organizational system; reward system; and occupational culture. Physical therapists appear to be at higher risk of WMSDs because 80.1% of the physical therapists studied experienced work-related musculoskeletal pain. To reduce the risk, we need intervention strategies such as preventive education, ergonomically designed medical equipment, a psychosocial approach to work conditions, improved mechanical conditions related to therapeutic patterns, and an institutional infrastructure with sufficient personnel and scheduling.

소방공무원 의식과 처우개선에 관한 연구 (Consciousness of Fire Officers and Improving the Working Conditions)

  • 본 연구는 소방공무원의 직무여건 개선 등에 관한 의식을 조사, 합리적인 개선방안을 제시하기 위하여 수행되었다. 연구결과 한국의 소방공무원은 직업에 대한 보람과 긍지를 가지고 있는 반면에 근로시간, 근속승진, 정부포상, 해외연수 등 처우개선 분야에 있어서는 경찰 교정 철도직 등 유사직렬 근무자와 대비하여 대부분 내재적인 비교갈등을 안고 있어 이에 대한 개선대안 마련이 시급한 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 광역 지방자치단체별 지방 공무원 대비 소방공무원의 인력비율이 평균적으로 적게는 26.46%에서 많게는 64.06%에 이르고 있고 소방력기준과 행정자치부 소방공무원 정원 보강지침, 소방공무원 표준정원제 등의 상치와 한계 및 공무원 총액인건비제도의 시행으로 전면적인 3교대의 도입과 만족스러운 처우개선 마련이 곤란하여 일시에 근원적인 해결책이 마련될 수 있는 사안은 아니다. 따라서 일본 미국 등 선진국의 제도와 소방공무원의 직무 하중 등을 고려하여 근무시스템은 과다근무 부서 중심으로 우선적 3교대를 시행하되 기타 근속승진과 순번휴무제의 확대와 정부포상, 해외연수 등 각종 복지제도를 단계적으로 현실에 맞게 개선해 나감으로써 합리적이고도 적실성 있는 정책대안을 수립 시행함이 필요한 것으로 분석되었다.
