Especially, retired people who have a longer life expectancy than in the past seek to find a beginning of their later years in farming and rural life. This phenomenon is expected to form new value on rural areas and create new culture for the aged. In order to suggest a futuristic residential development plan for the retiree, this thesis first analyzes 'MARPA(Maison d'Accueil Rurale pour Personnes Ag$\acute{e}$es)' through reference research, site visit and interview with professionals and based on this suggest solutions applicable to Korean conditions. This thesis concludes that residential development plan apt to local characteristics, marketing strategies and administrative system through network and specialized maintenance system are required. In addition, it is contended that interaction and cooperation with local community, various support on creating regional income and residential development plan being in harmony with existing community are needed.

  • As the aging population of Korean agriculture and rural areas and the decline of the agricultural population are gradually deepening, the influx of population through returning to farming and rural areas is urgently needed. To this end, the most important problems to be solved were the lack of information that would help those who want to return to farming or rural areas when making decisions. Therefore, a survey was conducted for AHP analysis on related experts to find out the information (decision factors) required when selecting a return-to-farm or return-to-country migration area through this study. The AHP analysis showed that "Economic factors" were the most important among the three items in the primary class, while "Housing and land prices", "Metropolitan accessibility and traffic" and "Residential information" were the most important in the secondary class. The results of these studies are reflected in the information system to systematically support the decision-making of those who wish to return to farming or rural areas. It is hoped that it will be indirectly helpful and ultimately contribute to the revitalization and development of Korean agriculture and rural areas, which are aging.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors influencing the housing satisfaction of the new middle-aged who returned to farming to derive the implications of real estate policies to resolve regional imbalances. Research design, data and methodology: As a result, this study used secondary data, housing survey data, and identified factors influencing housing satisfaction through multiple regression analysis as well as basic analysis such as exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, technical statistics analysis, and correlation analysis. Previous studies, in particular, mainly focused on aging, retirement, economic activity, and retirement preparation, but this study was able to derive predictive factors that can increase the persistence of living after returning to farming by analyzing housing satisfaction for the new middle-aged, and as a result, suggest implications for resolving regional imbalances. Results: As a result of the analysis, it was found that housing structure status had the greatest influence among the three factors of housing-related predictors: housing structure status, facility accessibility, and surrounding environment, suggesting that policy alternatives that can improve the quality of the housing structure itself should be prepared rather than facility accessibility and the surrounding environment. Conclusions: Based on these results, we discussed implications for improving the housing structure to increase the continuity of living for the new middle-aged after returning to farming, and presented follow-up research directions on the need for complementary research in addition to individual analysis of influencing factors, limitations of secondary data, and the lighting of research on the new middle-aged and other generations who did not return to farming.

  • This study aims to identify the decision-making factors of people who have returned to rural areas for farming and residence according to personal characteristics and regions. The survey was conducted on 420 return farmers of six cities and counties in Gyeongsangbuk-Do from September 1st to October 11th 2013. For data analysis, researchers used 280 answered sheets and utilized two-way ANOVA and multinomial logistic regression analysis. Research results indicate three factors of returning to farm which are pull to rural area, push from city, and policy factor. The highest scores of factor is pull to rural area (2.93), the second one is push from city (2.31), and the lowest score is politic factor (2.18). In addition, these three factors of returning to farm are elucidated by environmental variable, economic variable, and information and opportunity provided by government. In other words, the factor of pull to rural area is related environmental variable and the factor of push from city is affected by economic variable. Lastly, politic factor pertains to information and opportunity provided by government.

  • This study suggests a plan for revitalizing return-to-farming / fishing villages through the marine leisure industry by analyzing the practical problems faced by young and older adults who have returned to the marine leisure field. A case study was conducted to identify the problems faced by those returning to marine leisure, and to determine the measures for revitalizing return-to-farming / fishing villages. Interview participants were those returning to marine leisure and experts in related fields. The problems identified include the exclusive culture of fishing villages, difficulty in raising initial investment funds, and lack of marine leisure education programs for return-to-farming / fishing villages. The proposals to solve these problems and revitalize return-to-farming / fishing villages through the marine leisure industry include the introduction of an incentive system to mitigate barriers to entry; establishment of a matching system; use of idle land in fishing villages to promote return-to-farming / fishing villages; introduction of a consignment management system after the pre-investment of the fishing villages; and establishment of an education program, including in the fisheries field, and infrastructure for return-to-farming / fishing villages for marine leisure.

  • In this paper, the purpose of this study is to melt the process of returning to farming through games and settle down in a stable manner to ensure that there are no more prospective young farmers who wish to return to farming but cannot proceed with their dreams due to various barriers of reality. The game was designed to develop in the order of fields, greenhouses, automation systems, and smart farms, and to grow the crops they want at the early level, and added a community system to highlight that rural areas are community life, not individualistic life. Support benefits or information provided by local governments or governments were inserted into the community system so that prospective farmers could naturally access the information.

  • The aging of farm households has caused serious problems such as productivity slowdown and aggravated income polarization in South Korea. Urban-to-rural migration has been recently suggested as a measure to attenuate the aging of rural population and other related problems. The inflow of migrants for farming can have a substantial effect on agriculture and rural communities while the natural adjustment of rural population caused by birth and death is slow. This paper forecasts population distribution of different provinces using the Origin-Destination (OD) analysis, taking into account both the size and directions of migration. In the analysis, nodes where the migration takes place are divided by the industrial sectors (agriculture and non-agriculture), regions, and ages. The results of a ten-year forecast shows that the aging of total population in most provinces will be intensified, but the portion of people over sixty will decrease in the agricultural sector. This finding implies that migration into rural areas, when occurring by a large extent, can mitigate the aging process and attendant problems.
