The purpose of this research is to investigate and analysis the style of Audrey Hepburn(1929-1993), the most important style icon in the 1950s and '60s from the point of the style of dress in her films - Roman Holiday (1953), Sabrina (1954), Funny Face (1957) and Breakfast at Tiffany's (1966) and fashion activities, furthermore, to know the influence on the contemporary fashion. After 1960s, her style has been recreated by so many designers. In the 1980s, times influenced by post-modernism, there was also the effort to reconstruct the style in the 1950s again. At that time, some Hepburn styles-a reflective of the flamboyant and exaggerating trend in her ages-were appeared by a few designers in the 1980s. Over the 1990s' retro culture, there were a lot of efforts to reemerge the styles in the 1950 and '60s, they led to full-scale reconstruction of Hepburn style - a feeling of the elegance and intelligence harmonizing with the minimal and formal style. By the retro culture adding with the mainstream fashion trend of simpleness and comfort in the year 2000, Hepburn's casual style has been reconstructed to meet the modem need in the 21s1 century. Through these considerations, we could notice that Hepburn style has been recreating from various fashion fields harmonizing with the popular trend of the age.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the expressive technique of grunge look in knitwear fashion. For this study, I have investigated theories of retro and decontructionism trends, and have examined pictures from professional fashion magazines. The results of study on the expressive technique of grunge look reflected on the knitwear fashion were as follows; (1) patchwork technique, which is an outstanding method of recycling, (2) handknitting technique, which came from retro trend of hippism, (3) unfinished edge, which emphasized the image of poverty and incompleteness, (4) irregular lace knitting and slash technique, which is the typical details of grunge look and denies the traditional fashion order, (5) hand stitch technique using various materials, which gives second-hand mood of hippie look, and (6) fringe details, which originated from the unfinished edge technique.

In this paper, big data analysis was conducted for past and present fashion trends and fashion cycle. We focused on daily look for ordinary people instead of the fashion professionals and fashion show. Using the social matrix tool, Textom, we performed frequency analysis, N-gram analysis, network analysis and structural equivalence analysis on the big data containing fashion trends and cycles. The results are as follows. First, this study extracted the major key words related to fashion trends for the daily look from the past(1980s, 1990s) and the present(2019 and 2020). Second, the frequence analysis and N-gram analysis showed that the fashion cycle has shorten to 30-40 years. Third, the structural equivalence analysis found the four representative clusters. The past four clusters are jean, retro codi, athleisure look, celebrity retro and the present clusters are retro, newtro, lady chic, retro futurism. Fourth, through the network analysis and N-gram analysis, it turned out that the past fashion is reproduced and evolves to the current fashion with certain reasoning.

History of fashion and clothing is needed to understand modern fashion and to predict Future mode. The period of Romanticism in fine arts was from the end 18th century up to the first half of 19th century. The characteristics of shilouttes were found in the emphasis owomen's body line. The Characteristics of romantic image in 2000 of fashion trend are the emphasis of romantic details and decorations. Such as ruffle, frill, shirring, beads, spangle, sequin, flower. Trend colors are pink, lilac, aqua blue, yellow, green, pastel color. Trend materials chiffon, organza, satin, velvet, gauze, georgette, lace and glittery material. And floral print and stripe print. Forward­looking fashion is ethnic­romantic image influenced India. Trend and fashion have very close relationship and if it is fully comprehended, it will be good opportunity to awkardness againnst new fashion line.

Based on the qualitative analysis regarding five dominant characteristics of fashion in the transitional period of the 21s1 century, subsequent quantitative analysis was conducted and the following results were obtained. First, it was found that 85% of the clothes analyzed showed these five characteristics. Secondly, among the five characteristics, the new-naturalism shows the most significant trend and neo-retro was also found as one of the leading features along with the new-naturalism in the transitional period of the 21 st century. However, the frequency of technicism is less than was expected. Thirdly, analysis of the distribution of fashion characteristics according to fashion designers and seasonal changes show that new-naturalism, neo-retro and hybrid spread relatively evenly among each designer. The quantitative study confined the results obtained through the qualitative study.

This study examines the meaning of retro phenomenon and its background of establishment that showed in the pop culture. And it finds out the retro phenomena in the domestic fashion trends. And it defines the characteristics of dress and its ornament in the retro phenomena that have shown in the Korean movies since 1998. By doing this, it examines the relationship between movie dress and street fashion while it compares the styles in the 50s 70s with the retro fashion that is currently emerging. The results of the study are as follows. First, the hippie look in the 60s represented a distinctive characteristic of how they rejected traditional lifestyles. Hippie's romantic femininity that showed in the movie of 'Oollala Sisters' received a spotlight as a necessary style in the modern fashion trend. Second, while the funk look in the 70s was a style of disorder and disgust, the movie gives it a possibility of fashion with a converted sense as a vanguard fashion while embracing the funk look. Third, the layered look in the 70s was expressed with layered items, while the current layered look emphasizes layered textiles as shown in the movie of 'Hae-Jeok Became The Disco King'. Fourth, the feminine look which was a symbol of restraint shows a mixed style with delicate feminine items as shown in the movies, 'The Harmonium In My Memory' and 'Ditto'. Fifth, the training look that has two stripes as shown in the movie 'the Friends' is considered as casual wear, which is functional and easy to move at the end of the 20th century. Finally, the romantic images of school look, as shown in the movies 'the Friends' and 'Hae-Jeok Became The Disco King', show a renewed mixed & unique style. This study has its significance in the sense that it verifies the fact that the movie dress does not show the characteristics of the works that momentarily passes the screen, but it becomes a foundation of the future fashion design. At this time that Korean movies are highly developing, a through study on the movie fashion will not only give a direction of future in the modern fashion, but it will also give a developing momentum in the Korean movie dress.

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate of fabric characteristics in women's wear as reviewing the fabric trends in 1990's domestic fashion. As a method to accomplish this research, I have examined the articles related to fashion fabric and fashion trend magerzines. This study considered women's wear relatively used diverse fabrics, there was not previous study regarding the fabrics used in domestic, since the 1990's. The social fators for the 1990's fashion were the influence of the informed, the increased concern for the ecological environment, the sattlement of young popular culture, the increase of resonable consume and social anxiety. To understand the fashion trends of the 1990's women's wear, it is divided three periods. The traditional period is from 1991 to 1993, the mixed period of the naturalism and the technology is from 1994 to 1995, the retro period is from 1996 to 1999. The charateristics of the fabrics used in 1990's women's wear were the appearance of various functional fabrics, the development of new synthetic fabric with high sensitivity, the popularization of circular knit, the fabrics with a retro mood toward traditional feminine mood and the blending of fabrics. The fashion of 1990 have had the characteristics of various utilization of the materials on the base of reasonable and practical trends than the changes of design and detail.

This study, on the military fashion which has been inspired by the men's military uniform, is composed of an examination of the following; the aspect on the women's hi-fashion and the street fashion and the analysis of it's intention. On hi-fashion, from the 1960s to the early half of the 1970s, by the influence of the minimalism, maintained it's couture style, which is the formal image as well as moderating the line and simplifying the details, From the latter part of the 1970s to the 1980s, mannish image was sensed greatly by the wide shoulders with pads and large silhouette. The 1990's theme was the retro. Many different expression techniques appeared, but the trend was the retro. However, on the streets, young generation and hippies wore unisex army mode because of the influence of anti-war movement. Also, Hell's Angels, punks used black leather jacket with Nazi symbol, badge and eyelet expressed to show their aggressiveness as an avantgarde fashion. The intentions of military fashion can be analyzed as women's amazon need, the feeling of movement, and the spirit of rebellion.

This study focuses on a comparative study of 1960s'retro look mode in terms of the past and present in order to find out in detail how it in the past is readjusted after it was appeared in the present. For such a study, in the first place the contents of the dress and its ornament of a retro-look fashion was refined through some literature, and then, some works of the dress and its ornament of a retro-look fashion was refinded through some literature, and then, some works of eh dress and its ornament revived in 1960's mode were analysed, based on some fashion magazines at home and abroad like Bazaar, Fashion etc News in 1990s. After 1960s'retro-look mode which reappeared in 1990s was researched in terms of silhouette, detail, texture, color, and pattern, differences between those tow periods of 1960s and 1990s and their causes are summarized as follows: 1. In the aspect of silhouette, it appears that the silhouette in 1960s is that of somewhat stiff, charming image in which Body is excluded and the silhouette in 1990s is that of an soft, feminie image in which Body is emphasized. It was understood that the cause of such a delicate difference comes from the influences of the change in aesthetic senses or awareness, naturalism and neo-feminism. 2. In the aspect of detail, it appears that the detail in 1990s is of an attempt to express in diverse images, compared to that in 1960s, and new images are created new image in 1990s by means of presenting entirely ill-matched images. The major cause of that is because of Antistandard fashion. 3. In the aspect of textures, it appears that a great feature is that the texture in 1990s is of that introduced, being changed in natural and high-class looks, compared to that of 1960s. It was reviewed that the major cause of this is because of a result from the influence of naturalism and the technical growth in various fields which has brought the development of dress material. 4. In the aspect of color, it appears that the color in 1990s is of an image of primary color which is far more sensual and feminie than that of 1960s. It was studied that the major cause of ti comes from the influence of neo-feminism, etc. 5. In the aspect of pattern, it appears that the pattern in 1990s is of that of symbolism, transposition, and the ecletic feature of various modes which appear more deeply than that of 1960s. It was studied that the major cause of such changes is because of a trend of postmodernism which has brought the change of the spiritual structure different from that in the age of modernism. In conclusion, it was understood that the retro-look fashion is of an expression technic of dress and its ornament in that o dress in the pst is simply imitate, but new reconstitution is done by using the elements in the past. at the same time, ti was clarified that even though the elements in the past are revived as they were, dress and its ornament is governed by the social and cultural environments of he day, and with this proof it can be said that the fashion in each age is of a reflection of social phenomena of that age.
