  • The electrorheology of hollow PANI derivative suspensions in silicone oil was investigated by varying the electric fields and shear rates, respectively. The hollow PANI derivative susepnsions showed a typical electrorheological (ER) response caused by the polarizability of an amide polar group and shear yield stress due to the formation of chains upon application of an electric field. The shear stress for the hollow PANI succinate suspension exhibited an electric field power of 0.67. On the basis of the experimental results, the newly synthesized hollow PANI derivative suspensions were found to be an anhydrous ER fluid.

  • The electrical and rheological properties of a chitosan malonate suspension in silicone oil was investigated by varying the electric fields, volume fractions of particles, and shear rates, respectively, The chitosan malonate susepnsion showed a typical electrorheological (ER) response caused by the polarizability of an amide polar group and shear yield stress due to the formation of multiple chains upon application of an electric field. The shear stress fur the suspension exhibited a linear dependence on the volume fraction and an electric field power of 1.88. On the basis of the experimental results, the newly synthesized chitosan malonate suspension was found to be an anhydrous ER fluid.

  • In case of field weakening region, torque is directly affected by flux. In this region, the flux reference is cIecreased inversely proportional to the rotor speed. As the flux is decreased, the magnetizing inductance is nonnally increased The increased magnetizing inductance limited voltage for controlling current In this paper, rreasuring q axis voltage in field weakening region, magnetizing inductance in flux calculating can be readjusted. Computer simulation and experiment results demostrate the efficacy of the prqx>sed rrethod. Proposed algorithm is expected to the application of the adjustable drive system in the spinning and weaving field. field.

  • The electrorheology of the chitosan adipnate suspension in silicone oil was investigated. Chitosan adipnate suspension showed a typical ER response (Bingham flow behavior) upon application of an electric field. The shear stress for the chitosan adipnate suspension exhibited a linear dependence on the volume fraction of particles and an electric field power of 1.88. The experimental results for the chitosan adipnate suspension correlated with the conduction models and this suspension was found to be an anhydrous ER fluid.

  • The electrorheological (ER) behavior of chitosan suspension in the silicone oil was investigated. Chitosan suspension showed a typical ER response, Bingham flow behavior upon application of an electric field due to the polarizability of the branched amino group of the chitosan particles. The shear yield stress exhibited a linear dependence on the volume fraction of particles and the squared electric field. On the basis of the experimental results, chitosan suspension has been correlated with the conduction models for ER response and found to be an ER fluid.

  • Through USN field Test Projects launched in 2005, 9 USN application service models such as u-Ocean, u-Construction, u-Farm, u-Hospital has been deployed. We conducted technical, industrial, economical feasibility tests to verify those services. This thesis will cover briefly the current situation of USN industry domestically and internationally. It will show the future prospect of convergence service model based on USN in conjunction with research details and results from previous USN field Test Projects.

  • The alternating flow hydraulics (AFH) had demonstrated the unique features in the past. One of the most well-known inventions was the hydraulic machine-gun synchronizer, which had become the standard equipment of airplane during World War I. The studies on the AFH between 1960 and 1980 had trigged many researchers' interests and reached the summit. The disadvantages of the AFH like low efficiency and cooling difficulty had prevented the further development. Few people are engaged in studying the AFH at present. However, the unique characteristics of the AFH inspire the researchers to continuously explore the new special suitable applications. The overviews of the AFH and the new potential application in the geotechnical testing field have been discussed in this paper. First, the research results of the AFH in the past have been summarized. Then, the classifications of the AFH have been introduced in detail according to the working principle, the number of hydraulic transmission pipelines and the mode of input energy. The advantages and the disadvantages of the AFH have been discussed. A novel potential suitable application in the soil test field has been presented at last. The detailed designing ideas of a new dynamic trixial instrument have been given, which will be a more innovational and energy-saving plan according to the current studies. A series of simulation experiments have been done. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme for the new dynamic trixial instrument is feasible. The paper work will also give some inspirations in the reciprocating motion control system.

  • Dynamic compaction is an efficient ground improvement technique for loose soils and waste landfill. The improvement is obtained by controlled high energy tamping and its effects vary with the soil properties and energy input. This study demonstrated the application of dynamic compaction method for the improvement of waste landfill in construction site. Various tests and measurements such as standard penetration test, bore hole loading test, crater settlement, ground settlement, pore water pressure were peformed during dynamic compaction field test. From the field test results, the efficiency of dynamic compaction method for the improvement of waste landfill was proved.
