  • Due to the advent of high performance feature-phone and smart-phone, the scale of mobile games and the member of developers are increased rapidly. The production process of mobile games is changing to meet these needs. Tools for efficient program development are produced worldwide, but tool's research for the event direction is inadequate. In the event direction, the game designers play more important roles than programmers. In this paper, we develop the mobile game event direction tool for game designers. And we make the events of the released mobile games to test the efficiency and usefulness of tool that we developed. The result shows that the performance is enhanced about 15% in development period.

  • Along with the development of mobile technology, mobile game has undergone a change from downloadable game to network game, where a large number of users connect to server and play real-time game with a mobile phone. In order to develop these mobile network games economically, a proper, suitable game engine is needed. This study proposes the result of design and implementation of RWMMO-GE(Realtime Wireless Massively Multiplayer Online RPG Game Engine) that is used to develop a mobile network game. The structure of RWMMO-GE, which is the research result of this study, consists of major components such as Network/Client Module, Object Module, Map Tool, Script Editor, and Character Editor. The characteristics of the multiplayer mobile game developed by this engine is that a large number of players can play real-time game in a single map, which implies a possibility of a new business model in this area. This research is a result of the RWMMO-GE supported by 2006 IT Excellent Technology Support Project(No:A1300-0601-0125) of IITA(Institute Information Technology Advancement).

The popularity of online games can be attributed to the presence of numerous PC Bangs around the country, which have pushed online games into the mainstream culture while broadband internet services facilitated online game play. The age distribution of online game players is expanding and a variety of new games are under development to target certain age groups. While the online game market continues to expand, with many new online game publishers entering the market, relatively little is known about which factors are strategically important for successful development of online games. A conceptual framework is proposed, and a structural equation modeling, for Identifying the factors affecting the market success of online games, is developed. The concept of online game community, idea generation, systematic development strategy, flexible development process, utilizing demo-version, outsourcing, etc, are ail introduced into the model, as the independent variables affecting the success level of online games directly and indirectly. Based on data collected from questionnaire survey, the validity of the model has been tested and interesting conclusions have been developed concerning the relationships between these variables. Statistical results show that utilizing online game community and system atic development strategy is the key for successful online game development. Other interesting results concerning game development strategy are also provided. It is hoped that this result might provide the useful guidelines for developing the successful online game contents. With a better understanding of key success factors, online game developers should be able to make adjustments in their development and marketing plans, providing them with a sustainable advantage over their competition.

  • In the current era of Corona, the positive potential of board games is emerging as the 'untact' is accelerating. This situation can be seen as an opportunity to have a positive impact on the development of the board game industry depending on how to develop board games in a more interesting, high-quality and educational way than before. To this end, this study intends to present a methodology for deriving the relative importance of important factors in board game development among the preceding studies and methodologies for more advanced board game development by board game developers and experts. This study is to derive the relative importance of important factors in board game development. To this end, important factors in board game development for board game developers and experts were derived through the Delphi method, and the Delphi method in the ranking format was used to rank the relative importance of the derived factors. This study focused on the development model of playing cards among board games. Priority analysis result, development and planning composition, prior research analysis, draft production, production, validation, application, and review in order of importance were derived(were derived in the order of importance). The results of this study are expected to provide practical guidelines for companies to prioritize and utilize development according to their importance when developing board games.

  • When performing a project, the most important thing is building a result with planned quality within development period. Particularly, if the project is delayed or has no good quality in the case of the mobile game development project which is sensitive to the release time and quality, it is immediately connected to the failure of the project. Extreme Programming is a methodology that divides the development cycle into smaller units for reducing the risk factor of the project in which the development period is important. In this paper, we suggest the Expanded Extreme Programming for mobile game development environment in which the development period and quality are important
