  • The healing tourism has been growing rapidly in Korea. This study examines the restoration experience of rural healing tourism by qualitative method. The restoration environment is based on nature, and rural areas are the representative places for nature-based tourism. Therefore, this study aims to explore the meaning of restoration experiences of rural healing tourism. An in-depth interview process was used as the primary qualitative research method for this study. Nine interviews were given and from a thematic analysis of the data, six themes of restoration environments were emerged. The restoration environment of the rural settings are as follows; being away, fascination, extent, compatibility, healing nature, and leisure activity. Attention restoration theory provides a model that helps explain the results of this study. The results of this study can be useful for establishing effective marketing strategies through understanding the restoration environment in rural healing tourism.

  • Numerous landslides had occurred in Kangwondo in July 2006 and several restoration works had been done. A-day-accumulative rainfalls from July 12 to July 13 and July 15 to July 16 were 176mm and 202mm respectively. Disaster sites at which slope failures were studied to main causes of slope failures by investigating characteristics of rainfall, geological formation, topography and ground surface exploration around the boundary of landslides. In this study, a series of slope restoration work process is presented for reference which about the landsliding area in Han-Gye-Ryeong to O-Saek in Kwangwon-do where one of the most severe damaged area in 2006. The slope restoration work process includes site investigation, analysis on affected factor, restoration or reinforcing method design, construction procedure and recent status of that area. Also several considering points are suggested while design and construction for the reference at the other restoration works.

  • Although the process about korea image restoration contents program development and liberalization have cultural and artistic worth, it is not possible to restore technically or cost enormous expense. In the study, it suggest the needs of korea image restoration contents program development through image restoration case. It is revitalize that the study in digital image restoration technical prepare the ground for passing high-qualities cultural legacy by restoring classical film. We think the development of korea image restoration software will strengthen the basis to the new creation industry of high value-added in the global cultural prosperity industry.

  • High resolution Pan-sharpening technique is becoming increasingly important in the field of remote sensing image analysis as an essential image processing to improve the spatial resolution of original multispectral image. The general scheme of pan-sharpening technique consists of upsampling process of multispectral image and high-pass detail injection process using the panchromatic image. The upsampling process, however, brings about image blurring, and this lead to spectral distortion in the pan-sharpening process. In order to solve this problem, this paper presents a new method that adopts image restoration techniques based on optimization theory in the pan-sharpening process, and evaluates its efficiency and application possibility. In order to evaluate the effect of image restoration techniques on the pansharpening process, the result obtained using the existing method that used bicubic interpolation were compared visually and quantitatively with the results obtained using image restoration techniques. The quantitative comparison was done using some spectral distortion measures for use to evaluate the quality of pan-sharpened image.

  • In this study, constructability of ecologocal stream restoration process was evaluated and improved approaches for habitat were suggested. The study site is Gucheon River in Geoje city where conducted ecologocal restoration work within maintaining its flood control function. Application of ecological design factors and constructability in the process from planning to construction was analyzed and its results are as follows: In the process of planning and designing, it was focused more on the naturality of Gucheon River rather than the human convinience and ecological design factors were applied within the ecological capacity of the site. First, the indexes for constructability evaluation is selected. It was classified into three major categories as construction quality, design quality and construction administration system. Each index has details, so there are twenty sub indexes for contractibility evaluation. Second, the evaluation results shows that the index most in need of improvement was plumbing construction, followed by Stone construction and pavement construction. design concept was evaluated as appropriate in entire categories. Finally it is suggested that it can be improved in both process of design to enhance the technology and process of construction to enhance the quality management. The constructability of ecological stream needs adaptive management and it must be discussed with its designing which is at the stage before construction. Also it needs discussion with its designer constantly and feed-back process.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the elementary school teachers' perception about the aquatic ecosystem restoration and confirm their ideas about factors for successful restoration and the effective direction of education for the aquatic ecosystem restoration. In order to analyze teachers' thoughts about the aquatic ecosystem restoration, in-depth interview was conducted to three elementary school teachers. Then, answers of them were transcribed and analyzed by similarities and differences among subjects. The results are as follows. Elementary school teachers thought about aquatic ecosystem restoration was divided into rehabilitation and remediation. They recognized that factors for successful restoration are the restoration to natural conditions, providing persistent benefit to local residents, and the participation of local community in the process of restoration. Teachers think that they must have correct knowledge and perception regarding the aquatic ecosystem restoration. They also think that contents about the aquatic ecosystem restoration should be taught in elementary school. They mention that they may leach students about the aquatic ecosystem restoration in discretionary activities class and extracurricular activities class. They also mention that the education for aquatic ecosystem restoration might be handled within diverse subjects.

  • Currently, digital restoration has s long way to go. Character restoration is only used as a one-time event to restore the shape of a specific person, and building restoration is only composed of digital modeling rather than using the restored cultural assets as content. There is a limit to restoring even the story of a building or a person with the current restoration method alone. Therefore, this study analyzed the method and process of digital restoration of a 'historical and cultural space' encompassing spaces, people, and events, focusing on relationships. In order to derive digital restoration methods, the case of 'Latelier', an indoor theme park based on Gogh, was analyzed. According to the study, the relationship of the person important for digital restoration is important. Based on Gogh's relationship, the process was formalized in four stages for digital restoration: the preparation stage, the digital archive stage, the DB advancement stage, and the demonstration stage. The restoration of the story of the character through the relationship can be expected to converge the past and the present as a true historical restoration, and through this, it is expected that the innovative development of digital restoration can be achieved.

  • The syllable restoration is a process restoring a phonetic value recognized in a speech recognition device with the notation form that a vocalization is former. In this paper a syllable restoration rule was composed of a based on standard pronunciation for a syllable restoration process. A syllable restoring regulation was used, and a generation method of a notation candidate set was researched. Also, A study is held to reduce the number of created notation candidate. Three phases of reduction processes were suggested. Reduction of a notation candidate has the non-notation syllable, non-vocabulary syllable and non-stem syllable. As a result of experiment, an average of 74% notation candidate decrease rates were shown.

  • In heavy industrial fields such as power plant and chemical plant, it is often necessary to restore damaged part of large machinery and structure which is installed in the hazard working place. In this paper, to estimate stress distribution which occurs during damage and restoration of cylindrical beam structure, the finite element technique has been used. A finite element model was verified by experiment for non deformed cylindrical beam structure. The displacements and elastic recovery have an excellent agreement between experiment and finite element analysis. The variations of stress distribution on deformation and restoration procedure for surfaces have been examined. The maximum von Mises stress appears in the surface for deformation and restoration procedure. In deformation procedure, the maximum stress occurs in the vicinity of support body. In restoration procedure, the maximum stress occurs in the vicinity of the fixing body. The fixing body allows avoiding stress concentration in adjacent support structure boundary.

  • This study introduces an objective and systematic framework for prioritizing buildings in the Gamyoung restoration project using a decision-support model. This model integrates evaluation criteria derived from a comprehensive literature review, refined through the Delphi method, and weights assigned via an Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) survey. Each building project is scored against these criteria to ascertain its priority for restoration, thereby facilitating informed decision-making for budget allocation in restoration projects. The effectiveness of the decision-support model was validated through a case study and expert consultations, demonstrating its practical utility in formulating concrete restoration project plans.
