Space Science and Technology Laboratory at Kyung Hee University developed an 80cm Nasmyth telescope with the joint work of Space & Astronomy, Inc. It was set up at Muju county public astronomical observatory in Jeonlabuk-Do. Nasmyth focus system was selected for the telescope to use two focal points by a rotatable tertiary mirror. Focal ratios of the telescope are f10, f5 respectively. Support of the main mirror is made with Lasalle-system. This system uses 24-points in the back side of the mirror that are all resting on small counter-weights and side support is 10-points Boll link Flexible type with 2 Lasalle type. The mount is wheel & disk type Alt-Azimuth design using DC-servo motors. External high accuracy encoder has 47,600 sine-waves/rot. These encoders are used to make real-time corrections on all gearing errors.

This study aims at alalyzing the circulation process, merchandising system of Mosi(Korean traditional garment material), and accessing the way of interior design of Mosi market. There are three kinds of garment material of Mosi such as Pilmosi, Gootmosi, Taemosi classified by manufacturing process. At Mosi market, these three materials are sold in due sequence. Mosi market needs three space zones such as Mosi market space, inspecting space of Mosi and resting place, and these three spaces have strong interrelationship, so designer should plan not to disterb the moving flow. In the Mosi market space there should be divided by three zones such as Pilmosi marketing place, Gootmosi marketing place, and Taemosi marketing place in due sequence. The furniture of Mosi market place divided two kinds such as furniture for Pilmosi and that of Gootmosi or Taemosi. The proper form of furniture for Pilmosi is circular arc bar counter and that for Gootmosi or Taemosi is low rectangular table.

Recently, much attention is paid on the office design be-cause the real world of work has undergone substantial changes, in both spatial and temporal aspects, due to the in-troduction of data processing technologies and new types of production. Today's renewed objectives of office are to define new physical space for work, to deal with economic and organizational changes. In the period of information, the purpose of an office is to improve the productivity for employers employees the comfort and vitality. Today's intellecture resources are necessary for the development in the modern business. The Hypid office, as an alternative in order to correspond the rapid changes, is proposed to give the space for satisfy-ing the basic desires of a human being-eating, resting and working. Accompanying with flexibility and comfortability, this office should include the space for personal purpose and the space for social purpose. Applying the concept of comfort like at home leads to re-lease a worker's stress from the society of information. The future office which is to enhance the quality of culture by in-tegrating indivisual, domestic and social life should commu-nicate efficiency, movement, energy, transformation.

It is one of classical problems in the elastic theory to analyze contact stresses between elastic bodies. Concrete pavements under traffic wheel loads can be considered as one of these typical Problems. In the paper, Mindlin plate theory is used to consider the transverse shear effect, 8-node isoparametric plate bending element is adopted in this study, and an elastic plate resting on tensionless elastic half-space is analyzed by finite element method. The Boussineq's solution of elastic half-space is used to evaluate the flexibility of foundation. To obtain the boundary of contact area, the flexibility matrix of foundation is modified after each cycle of analysis iteratively. A Numerical example is presented by using these method.

This study was focused on the new town residential complex in suburban Hefei, China, which was carried out a survey on the present conditions of children's play space. The residential complexes and play spaces in Hefei, regardless of installation, the standards for the installation of play facilities were not provided legally, and the types of installation of the play facilities also were not standardized. For the play space in residential complexes in China to carry out original functions under the condition and become a place of everybody's activities not just for children, the following should be improved:(1) There is no provision and standard for the size of play space, so the standards for installation of play space with safety like Korea, Japan and the US are necessary. (2) The location of the play space should be able to guarantee maximum play activities to children, and the independence of the space should be secured by putting it in a place far from a footpath or pass way. (3) Since children's play space has different properties from those of green space and resting spaces, separate environmental planning is necessary.

The purpose of this study is to clarify the using condition and requirement for outdoor space between the parallel types of elementary school buildings focused on Chungbuk province in Korea. Consequently, we investigated the actual conditions of students and teachers, using conditions of outdoor space between school buildings. The summary of outdoor space can be given below. 1) In the using condition of outdoor spaces, most of them have path & covered walks, garden, playground and soon. The distances between neighboring building fixed, the use and quality of outdoor space is differently to spatial configuration of school buildings. For example, garden functions as itself in case of D/H>3, but the other space to observe in D/H>3. 2) In the requirements of outdoor spaces, the amount of scatter number of classmates and teachers is wide. The favoring outdoor space is the woods to take a rest by oneself, the demanding outdoor space is almost a resting place like a school store in case of classmates and the natural facilities like ponds garden pagora in teachers.

In Korean apartment housing, balcony is semi-outdoor space for storage and drying laundry. Recently, this semi-outdoor balcony space has been merged into indoor living space with the legal permission of balcony extension. It results in disappearance of the original function of balcony in apartment housing. This study attempts to propose better utilization of balcony extension by analyzing how balcony has been extended and used, and what residents' needs are. This study asks 400 housewives living in apartment housing in Jangyu new urban area, Kyungnam. Findings are : 1) Balcony extensions are carried out in a living room, a large bedroom and a small bedroom. Most extensions are made for enlarging adjacent indoor living space; 2) Original balcony that is not extended is used for drying laundry, resting, flower pot, storing, and kid's playing; 3) The residents recognize that problems of balcony extension are the decreased heating efficiency, the reduced soundproofing effect, the loss of spare housework space, and the disappearance of buffer between indoor and outdoor space; 4) Many residents want to extend their balcony space of a small bedroom and a large bedroom and to keep the balcony space of a kitchen-dining room and a master bedroom as they are.

This landscape design proposal was presented to a design competition for the New Government Buildings of Dalseong-gun which was held by the municipal authority of Dalseong-gun in June, 2002. The site is located at 1313 Gumpo-ri, Nongong-eup, Dalseong-gun, Daegu Metropolitan City and has an area of 50,000$m^2$. The judging criteria for the landscape design set by the Dalseong-gun could be articulated as follows : an environmentally friendly design which respects the surrounding n a locale which functions as a community center of Dalseong-gun, a resting place for the welfare of its employees and visitors, and finally a place with diverse landscape elements reflecting the individual identity of each facility. The main design concepts of this project could be summarized as follows : an environmentally friendly design which respects and utilizes the existing natural landscape resources, a design which features a harmony of nature with architecture and exterior space with interior space, and a design which balances esthetic form and practical function. This design consists of four major outdoor spaces ; the lawn, the entry plaza, a pine grove, and a deck area on the third floor. The multi-purpose lawn area near the main entrance area can be used for flea markets, outdoor weddings, and picnics for its neighbors. The adjacent plaza and parking lots can be unified as one space in case of large events. The entry plaza has three axes. Each of them represents the Assembly, the Administration, and the Culture. A big circle in the paving pattern unifies the three individual axes. A group of Zelkova trees was introduced to reflect local flavor. The existing pine grove was preserved as a symbolic 'park' for the Gumpo district. The outdoor amphitheatre within the grove was introduced by utilizing the existing topography, The flow of 'nature'on the deck area was designed to connect Mt. Gumkae with the 'city'. It is a comfortable resting place for its employees and visitors.

The purpose of this research is to obtain an empirically-based understanding of the attitudes of those children and mothers living in three different housing types : detached houses. row houses / villa and apartments. The subjects are 547 elementary school children in the fourth, fifth and sixth grades and their mothers in four different residential areas, Seoul. Followings are the result of this research. 1) Mothers put the first priority on the convenience of the dwelling space from the educational point of view, and they make complaints about their present dwelling space, in particular, children's play and storage space and the size of children's room. 2) They care a lot about the size of housing and, if the size of the housing is held constant, the mothers living in the apartments have more complain about. 3) The difference in the way children and mothers regard their dwelling space is great. The mothers would like to draw a clear line between rest space and play space. They would like to see their children play in their rooms, but children want to make use of the whole space of their housing for play. 4) Mothers think that the children's rooms should be used primarily for study while children think that their rooms have multiple uses such as studying, resting, and playing.

The propose of this study is to suggest objective data to be utilized for a plan and the improvement of open space through the analysis of people's behaviour and satisfaction after the introduction of an opened-fence around offices followed by a plan for wall-afforestation of public institution's. The sites examined are four offices; two of them have opened-walls and the others have traditional enclosure. Analysis of frequency is conducted to understand the actual use according to people's individual peculiarities. Pearson's correlation analysis, t-test, multiple regression analysis are carried out to find out relations of fluents. In the end, the satisfaction is high in public institution satisfaction, entrance, space perception. stability, Landscaped office with opened-fence rather than fence, and the increase in usage of fluent of public institution satisfaction, entrance, space perception. stability, confusion brings about rising of use-satisfaction. Satisfaction with the exterior of building is the most important variable that influences the whole urban open space. Furthermore the influences of the approach and stability having connection with open or not-open fence is major variable affecting satisfaction of use of open space. Whether open or not is important factor on satisfaction of open space of office building. Through this study, we can find that opened fence determines use satisfaction of resting space of outdoor-office. So factors affecting satisfaction must be regarded as important requisite on planning, design, development and management in plan for afforestation of fence at public institution.
