  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the contents of the cultural heritage conservation standards those have been developed throughout the century to reveal the evolution of the conservation. The analysis targets are prepared principles in response to the risks posed by armed conflicts, improper modifications, risks caused by urban planning and development, and the risk posed by environmental impacts. The study analyzed how conservation targets, issues, and conservation methods have changed. The analysis showed that the results of changed trend of conservation, first, the segmentation and diversification of the conservation targets, second, the integrated approaches, third, risk perception changes due to indirect effects from direct risk factors, forth, changes of conservation from safeguard to sustainable development.

  • The importance of manuals is emphasized because chemical accidents require swift response and recovery, and often result in environmental pollution and casualties. In this regard, the OECD revised OECD Guidelines for the Prevention, Preparedness, and Response to Chemical Accidents (referred to as the OECD Guidelines), in June 2023. Moreover, while existing research primarily raises awareness about chemical accidents, highlighting the need for a system-wide response including laws, regulations, and manuals, it was difficult to find comparative research on the attributes of manuals. So, this paper aims to compare and analyze the second and third editions of the OECD Guidelines, in order to uncover the information attributes and implications of the revised version. Specifically, TF-IDF (Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency) was applied to understand which keywords have become more important, and Word2Vec was applied to identify keywords that were used similarly and those that were differentiated. Lastly, a 2×2 matrix was proposed, identifying the topics within each quadrant to provide a deeper comparison of the information attributes of the OECD Guidelines. This study offers a framework to help researchers understand information attributes. From a practical perspective, it appears valuable for the revision of standard manuals by domestic government agencies and corporations related to chemistry.

  • This review focuses on the clinical use of $^{18}F-FDG$ PET to evaluate solitary pulmonary nodule (SPN) and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). When SPN or mass without calcification is found on chest X-ray or CT, $^{18}F-FDG$ PET is an effective modality to differentiate benign from malignant lesions. For initial staging of NSCLC, $^{18}F-FDG$ PET is useful, and proved to be cost-effective in several countries. $^{18}F-FDG$ is useful for detecting recurrence, restaging and evaluating residual tumor after curative therapy in NSCLC. For therapy response assessment, $^{18}F-FDG$ PET may be effective after chemotherapy or radiation therapy. $^{18}F-FDG$ PET is useful to predict pathological response after neoadjuvant therapy in NSCLC. For radiation therapy planning, $^{18}F-FDG$ PET may be helpful, but requires further investigations. PET/CT is better for evaluating NSCLC than conventional PET.

  • This review focuses on the clinical use of $^{18}F-FDG$ PET in esophageal cancer. For initial staging of esophageal cancer, $^{18}F-FDG$ PET is better than chest CT and is complementary to endoscopic ultrasound. Due to its good results for detecting distant metastasis, $^{18}F-FDG$ PET evades unnecessary curative surgery. Also, PET findings are associated with prognosis in esophageal cancer. $^{18}F-FDG$ PET seems to be useful for detecting recurrence and restaging in esophageal cancer. For therapy response assessment, $^{18}F-FDG$ PET is effective after chemotherapy or radiation therapy. $^{18}F-FDG$ PET is useful to predict pathological response after neoadjuvant therapy in esophageal cancer, which is better than chest CT and endoscopic ultrasound. For radiation therapy planning, $^{18}F-FDG$ PET may be helpful, but requires further investigations.

  • Modern transmission technologies such as automated manual transmission(AMT) and dual clutch transmission(DCT) are interested to all manufactures due to their fuel efficiency and driver's convenience, especially in a hybrid system. AMT has advantages in that they have a high efficiency of manual transmissions(MT) and offer operation convenience similar to automatic transmissions(AT), but it has some disadvantages in that they have torque gap during gear shift and shift time. To reduce disadvantages, it is necessary to evaluate errors and characteristics as a developing simulation model before experimental verification. The purpose of this study is to develop virtual components and simulate the transient response of AMT. A dynamic AMT model and a control logic for an integrated vehicle model have been developed using Matlab/Simulink as a simulation platform. In this paper, the clutch model to describe the stick-slip transition mode and the transmission model to describe the neutral gear shifting is introduced and compared with each other.

  • Harmonic current originating from electric locomotives can be magnified due to the impedance characteristics of power supply circuit and bring about various problems. That is, electromagnetic interference with communication lines, operational trouble in signaling, overheat and/or vibration in power capacitor, mis-operation in protection relay and so on. Therefore, the exact assessment of the harmonic current flow must be undertaken at design and planning stage for the electric traction systems. For these reasons, this study propose a new approach to model and to analyse traction power feeding system focused on system response to current and voltage harmonic(PART I ). Measurements of harmonics are also performed for railway power supply systems under normal operation. Spectrum and distortion analyses in measurement data are variously described in PART II

  • Constructions of skyscrapers have been planned and are being performed in Korea, but the research on disaster preparedness and response is mainly focused on construction safety, fire prevention and response, and legal enforcement. So research on physical and psychological effect on human residents, methodology of increased survival rate and decreased disability rate is insufficient. Authors intended to identify the characteristics of skyscraper on human health and safety in disaster, to examine the basic influence of skyscraper on physical and psychological health and the way to decrease the negative effect on human survival.

  • This study explores the potential of utilizing video-based data analysis and machine learning techniques to estimate the number of occupants within a building. The research methodology involves developing a sophisticated counting system capable of detecting and tracking individuals' entry and exit patterns. The proposed method demonstrates promising results in various scenarios; however, it also identifies the need for improvements in camera performance and external environmental conditions, such as lighting. The study emphasizes the significance of incorporating machine learning in architectural and urban planning applications, offering valuable insights for the field. In conclusion, the research calls for further investigation to address the limitations and enhance the system's accuracy, ultimately contributing to the development of a more robust and reliable solution for building occupancy estimation.

  • The study estimates the Structured VAR and the Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium Model for the Vietnamese economy based on the new Keynesian model for small and open economies, with the output gap, inflation, policy interest rate, the Vietnamese exchange rate, and the inflation and interest rate in the United States. The paper aims to clarify the impulse response of the macro variables through their shocks. It offers to model the SVAR and DSGE processes, as well as describe why and how interest rate policy is important in the impulse response of macro variables like the output gap and inflation process. The study supports the central role of monetary policy by giving empirical evidence for the new Keynesian theory, according to which an interest rate shock causes the output gap to widen and inflation to decrease. Finally, the application of the DSGE model is becoming more and more popular in the State Bank of Viet Nam to improve its policy planning, analyzing, and forecasting policy towards sustainable and stable growth.

  • Purpose: The role and facilities of public health centers responsible for local health are becoming increasingly important due to recurring infectious diseases such as COVID-19. With sudden outbreaks of infectious diseases, the infrastructure of public health center facilities like screening clinics are constructed varies depending on local conditions. resulting in discrepancies between intended usage and actual usage. Establishing guidelines for infectious disease response facilities that can be efficiently used within local communities is necessary. Methods: Field surveys are conducted at 6 public health centers to gather insights into the essential rooms, circulation patterns, and key considerations for space planning in screening clinics. Results: Ten design considerations emerge from the data, including spatial requirements, circulation guidelines, and considerations for accommodating diverse user needs and local conditions. Implications: Further research is needed to translate these guidelines into prototypes of temporary facilities.
