This study is to investigate the factors affecting post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms among hospital nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic in Korea. Cross-sectional, descriptive design is used in this study. Data collection was completed through an online self-administered survey from December 2020 to January 2021 among 180 registered nurses dealing with COVID-19 patients at hospitals. This survey includes socio-demographic questions, including a 22-item PTSD questionnaire, a 14-item type D personality questionnaire, a 25-item resilience questionnaire, and a 23-item Social Support Scale questionnaire. 56.1% of the subjects in this study were at risk of PTSD. In the high-risk group for PTSD, resilience and social support were lower than those in the low-risk group for PTSD. But there was no statistically significant difference in both variables (resilience t=0.21, p=.836, social support t=1.07, p=.287). However, education (OR = 2.23, p= .041) and type D personality (OR = 3.67, p < .001) were significant factors for PTSD symptoms. The results of the study can be utilized to recognize PTSD in nurses by identifying factors influencing PTSD during epidemics such as COVID-19, and to apply management systems such as psychological programs to help overcome them.

Now there is to accept adolescent runaway, and has to support the difficult life conditions and the emotional distress of adolescent post-runaway. This means that must be identify and treatment the protective factors having an buffering effect as well as the risk factors influencing on runaway. Although the worse factors related family are the highest risk factors of runaway, others factors including negative peer relation, a academic stress also an have significant influence on runaway. And the protective factors mediating the negative influence of risk factors are an monitoring and controlling of parent as authoritative rearing attitude, a social support, a positive coping strategies, a self-esteem, and a conventional peer group. Protective factors prevent from runaway behavior, as well as improve a resilience of adolescents in the poor environment. The tasks of follow study are to investigate empirically the mediating effects of the protective factors on the problem behavior of post-runaway and resilience of runaway adolescents based on the systematic research design.
This study was conducted to verify the effects of individual psychological capital, spousal support, and organization's family-friendly work culture on work-life balance in social workers. For this purpose, married social workers working in social welfare facilities in Chungcheongbuk-do were surveyed, and 331 collected responses were used in the analysis. Multiple regression analysis revealed that resilience and optimism in individual psychological capital, spousal support, and expectations on working hours in organizations' family-friendly work culture were significantly associated with the work-life balance. In addition, there were different factors influencing the level of work-life balance according to gender and age. The findings suggest that efforts to enhance awareness and improve working conditions, such as the development of self-care program, education on the necessity of work-life balance, and implementation of work-life balancing system, are needed to improve the work-life balance of social workers.
Purpose: Music therapy helps alleviate anxiety, depression, and pain for cancer patients, contributing to stress relief. With such advantages, music therapy is applied across a broad spectrum of treatment areas, including mental disorders, developmental disabilities, and conditions affecting the elderly. It has been shown to enhance the quality of life for terminally ill cancer patients. Recent research has revealed its positive effects in boosting immune function and resilience. In light of these findings, the author conducted a study to investigate patient satisfaction with music listening. Materials and Methods: First, a survey was conducted with 30 individuals to inquire about the perceived necessity of listening to music in a waiting area. Next, participants were asked whether listening to music could contribute to psychological stability. Finally, preferences for music genres and satisfaction with music listening were assessed with a sample of 20 individuals. Results: In terms of the perceived necessity of listening to music in the waiting area, 28 out of 30 individuals, or 93%, expressed agreement. Regarding the belief that music listening could contribute to psychological stability, 28 out of 30 individuals, or 93%, believed that it would indeed help with stability. When it comes to preferred music genres, 4 individuals (13%) favored classical music, 2 individuals (6%) preferred traditional Korean music, 2 individuals (6%) enjoyed trot music, and 20 individuals (66%) had no specific genre preference. As for music listening satisfaction, 17 out of 20 individuals, or 85%, reported being satisfied. Conclusion: When patients visit the hospital, stress can increase due to concerns about their medical conditions. To address this, providing a variety of music genres at the hospital has been effective in reducing patient stress and promoting psychological stability.
This study aims to investigate the relationship between positive psychological capital and entrepreneurial intention among middle-aged and elderly individuals who are interested in starting their own business by focusing on the mediating effect of risk sensitivity and the moderating effect of asset status. To accomplish the study's objective, a questionnaire was administered to approximately 250 middle-aged and elderly people working in Seoul from December 1 to December 31, 2019. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS 26.0. Specifically, frequency analysis and descriptive statistics were conducted, and reliability of the constructs was assessed. Factor analysis was used to measure the goodness of fit of the model developed. Finally, a structural equation model was established, and analysis was conducted on the test of the hypotheses about the mediating, moderating, and adjusting effects using the AMOS statistical package. The results revealed that positive psychological capital had a positive impact on risk sensitivity, and the path analysis of self-efficacy and entrepreneurial intention as well as resilience and entrepreneurial intention showed results of 0.042 and 0.026, respectively, supporting mediating effects. In the causal relationship between positive psychological capital and entrepreneurial intention, asset status acted as a moderator given that the chi square difference between the models was 7.096. Thus, the findings provide implications for comprehensive training programs to boost positive psychological capital and asset status in middle-aged and elderly individuals who are preparing to establish their own business. Further studies are needed to cover broader geographic areas and compare/analyze other variables associated with business startups.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to assess physical illnesses, psychological difficulties, and daily life function of victims' family members one year after the Sewol ferry disaster, in order to establish a basis of strategies to promote their mental health and resilience. Methods : We statistically analyzed self-reported data collected from a survey conducted between March 22 and 28, 2015 with 139 family members of victims. Results : All respondents complained about one or more psychological difficulties, and 95.4% of them had newly diagnosed or exacerbated physical illnesses. An increased number of psychological difficulties was associated with a greater tendency to present physical illnesses including chronic headache, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, obstetrico-gynecological, genitourinary, and cardiovascular disease. In addition, the majority of respondents reported a decrease in life functioning. Specifically, 71.9% reported interpersonal avoidance and 63.9% reported difficulty in returning to work. Conclusions : Not only psychological trauma but also physical illness and daily functioning should be evaluated in detail and actively addressed in the bereaved family members after a catastrophe.
This study was conducted to find out the psychological or physiological healing effects of real natural forests and virtual forest experiences using virtual reality (VR) in an artificially-controlled digital environment. To find out this, 81 healthy undergraduate students from C University were experimented on visual forest stimulation effects in the digital environment from September 5 to December 9 in 2022. The experiment evaluated the psychological and physiological healing effects of visual forest stimulation in the digital forest environment (2D, 3D). The SRI (stress response inventory) experiment for analyzing psychological effect showed statistically significant differences among groups. As for the SRI experiment for measuring psychological stress, except Control group, 2D group in the digital environment showed little difference before and after the experiment. But 3D group showed less stress than before. As a result, it was proved that visual forest stimulation in a forest-based digital environment (2D, 3D) reduces psychological stress significantly. And when analyzing how visual forest stimulation changes EEG (electroencephalogram) in the digital environment, alpha waves (RA), which are activated during relaxation or stabilization, were more active than beta waves (RB), which are activated during tension or awakening. This study is expected to be used to create a psychological and physiological healing environment for those who cannot go to a natural forest due to mobility difficulties by providing them visual forest stimulation experiences in a digital environment. It is also expected that the results will be the basis for forest healing in the digital environment and virtual reality programs will help forest healing activities.
