Line heating is a forming process which makes the curved surface with the residual strain created by applying heat source of high temperature to steel plate. in order to control the residual strain, it is necessary to understand not only conductive heat transfer between heat source and steel plate, but also temperature distribution of steel plate. In this paper we attempted to analyze is temperature distribution of steel plate by simplifying a line heating process to collision-effusive flux of high temperature and high velocity, and conductive heat transfer phenomenon. To analyze this, combustion in the torch is simplified to collision effusive phenomenon before analyzing turbulent heat flux. The distribution of temperature field between the torch and steel plate is computed through turbulent heat flux analysis, and the convective heat transfer coefficient between effusive flux and steel plate is calculated using approximate empirical Nusselt formula. The velocity of heat flux into steel plate is computed using the temperature distribution and convective heat transfer coefficient, and temperature field in the steel plate is obtained through conductive heat transfer analysis in which the traction is induced by velocity of heat flux. In this study, Finite Element Method is used to accomplish turbulent heat flux analysis and conductive heat transfer analysis. FEA results are compared with empirical data to verify results.
Surface heat budget of the Deukryang Bay from July 1, 1992 to September 12, 1993 is analyzed by us- ing the meteorological data (by Changhung Observatory and Mokpo Meteorological Station) and oceanogaphical data (by Research Center for Ocean Industrial Development. Pukyong National University). Each flux element at the sea surface which has annual variation Is derived with application of an aerodynamical bulk method and empirical formulae. The solar radiation Is the maximum In spring and sensible heat are the maximum in autumn and water. and minimum in summer The heat .storage rate is calclilated by using the rate of water temperature variation according to the depth. The oceanic transport heat is estimated as a residual. The net heat flux, the heat storage rate are positive In spring and summer, while they are negative in autumn and winter. The oceanic transport heat Is convergence In winter and divergence In the rest of seasons.
Selective laser melting (SLM), one of the most widely used powder bed fusion (PBF) additive manufacturing (AM) technology, enables the fabrication of customized metallic parts with complex geometry by layer-by-layer fashion. However, SLM inherently poses several problems such as the discontinuities in the molten track and the steep temperature gradient resulting in a high degree of residual stress. To avoid such defects, thisstudy proposes a temperature thread multiscale model of SLM for the evaluation of the process at different scales. In microscale melt pool analysis, the laser beam parameters were evaluated based on the predicted melt pool morphology to check for lack-of-fusion or keyhole defects. The analysis results at microscale were then used to build an equivalent body heat flux model to obtain the residual stress distribution and the part distortions at the macroscale (part level). To identify the source of uneven heat dissipation, a liquid lifetime contour at macroscale was investigated. The predicted distortion was also experimentally validated showing a good agreement with the experimental measurement.
Simulation on the electron beam welding of Al 2219 alloy was carried out by using commercial FEM code MARC, which encounters moving heat sources. Due to axisymmetry of geometry, a half of the cylinder was simulated. A coupled thermo-mechanical analysis was carried out and subroutine for heat flux was substituted in the program. The material properties such as specific heat, heat transfer coefficient and thermal expansion coefficient were given as a function of temperature and the latent heat associated with a given temperature range is considered. As a result, the proper beam power is 60㎸${\times}$60㎃ and welding speed is 1∼1.5 m/min. The residual stress in the heat-affected zone as well as the fusion zone does not increase. It is necessary to use jigs for preventing distortion of cylinder and improving weld quality.

This paper deals with the distribution characteristics of the current density and axial magnetic flux density on the vacuum interrupter with axial magnetic field type using 3 dimension finite element analysis. An axial magnetic field parallel to the current flow in the arc column can improve the current breaking capacity of vacuum interrupter by affecting the arc mode. The axial magnetic flux density on the contact electrode surface is analyzed by inputting external current as a function of the transient time for sine half wave. And it also is analyzed within the gap distance of the contact electrode. The peak value of current but is decreased with the descending current on the contact electrode surface and within the gap distance of the contact electrode. The residual magnetic field is generated on the contact electrode surface and within the gap distance in the instant of zero current, which is due to the influence of eddy currents. The phase shift due to eddy currents, defined as time difference between the maximum value of current and axial magnetic field, is about 1ms in the center point of gap distance.
Effects of residual flux density M$_{res}$ and number of inspection on the detection voltage and flux density B of the gas pipeline were investigated in MFL inspection, which is widely used for the non-destructive inspection in a gas pipeline. A simulation equipment composed of the magnetizer and iron ring attached on an aluminum disc was constructed instead of a huge gas pipeline facility. With this system. the iron ring could be perfectly demagnetized and signals from the bolt screw stuck on the disc could be clearly detected so that the effects of M$_{res}$S and the inspection number on the detection voltage and B of iron ring were effectively investigated. With increasing the number of inspection, M$_{res}$, B of the iron ring and the detection voltage decreased and then kept at constant values while final M$_{res}$ increased with increasing initial M$_{res}$. If inspection condition were kept unchanged, the detection voltage was proportional to the last M$_{res}$ of the iron ring instead of B. This was probably due to magnetic hysteresis of the iron ring inherited from magnetic domain so that consideration on the magnetic hysteresis was inevitable in the analysis of MFL signal from defects of a gas pipeline. A new inspection scheme using the magnetizer with reversed magnetization in the subsequent inspection was proposed from the result that a high detection voltage could be obtained in the first inspection of gas pipeline with positive M$_{res}$.
The quantitative assessment of the effect of the residual stress on fracture behavior was executed by some experiment and numerical analysis. First of all, artificial residual stresses were imposed on CT(Compact Tension) specimens by local heating using gas torch, and an appropriate distribution of residual stresses was obtained by thermal elastic-plastic FE analysis. To certify the result of the FE analysis, an experimental measurement was performed in accordance with ASTM standard. Fracture toughness test was executed on the several types of specimens. The first type was the specimen without residual stresses, and the others had different peak value of compressive residual stress at crack front via controlling the heat flux. All the test results were presented on th J resistance(JR) curves and discussed to verify the effect of compressive residual stresses on fracture behavior.

Cold cracking of weldment is one of the most serious welding problems. A sufficient quantity of diffusible hydrogen, a residual stress, and a sensitive microstructure are the causes of cold cracking. Removal of any one of these factors can be used to prevent cold cracking. Application of flux cored arc welding process is increasing due to high productivity and easiness of welding. In addition, to prevent cold cracking in the HAZ or weldment, preheat temperature and interpass temperature have to be controlled. In this study, the effect of preheat temperature on the levels of diffusible hydrogen in the weld metal deposited using flux cored wire was examined. The levels of preheat temperature of base metal specimen were ambient temperature, 50, 100 and $150^{\circ}C$ respectively. The result showed that the increase of preheat temperature was a linear relationship with reduction of diffusible hydrogen content in weldment.
Surface heat balance of the Gangjeong-Goryung Reservoir is analyzed for 12-17 August 2013. Each flux elements at the water surface is derived from the special field observations with application of an aerodynamical bulk method for the turbulent heat fluxes and empirical formulae for the radiation heat fluxes. The rate of heat storage in the reservoir is estimated by using estimated by surface heating rate and the vertical water temperature data. The flux divergence of heat transport is estimated as a residual. The features of the surface heat balance are almost decided by the latent heat flux and the solar radiation flux. On average for 12-17 August 2014 in the Gangjeong- Goryung Reservoir, if one defines the insolation at the water surface as 100 %, 94 % is absorbed in the reservoir; thereafter the reservoir loses about 30~50% by sensible heat, latent heat and net long-wave radiation. The residue of 50~80 % raises the water temperature in the reservoir or transported away by the river flow during the daytime.

In nuclear fusion reactors, the key structural component (i.e., the plasma-facing component) undergoes high heat flux cyclic loading. To ensure the safety of fusion reactors, an experimental study on the temperature-induced creep of stainless steel under heat flux cyclic loading was performed in the present work. The strains were measured using a stereo digital image correlation technique (3D-DIC). The influence of the heat haze was eliminated, owing to the use of a vacuum environment. The specimen underwent heat flux cycles ($500^{\circ}C-1000^{\circ}C$) with different mechanical preloads (0 kN, 10 kN, 30 kN, and 50 kN). The results revealed that, for a relatively large preload (for example, 50 kN), a single temperature cycle can induce a residual strain of up to $15000{\mu}{\varepsilon}$.
