  • In this study, the ion index characteristics of small and medium urban land use types were investigated in the city of Chungju. The average temperature for each land use type was in the order: general commercial district ($29.59^{\circ}C$) > general residential district ($28.34^{\circ}C$) > productive green district ($28.31^{\circ}C$). The average relative humidity was in the order: productive green district (70.12%) > general residential district (69.93%) > general commercial district (66.48%). The average wind speed was in the order: productive green district (0.95 m/s) > general commercial district (0.87 m/s) > general residential district (0.54 m/s). Positive and negative ions were investigated to determine the ion index by land use type. The average amount of positive ion generated was in the order: general commercial district ($737ea/cm^3$) > general residential district ($492ea/cm^3$) > productive green district ($445ea/cm^3$). The average negative ion production decreased in the order: productive green district ($930ea/cm^3$) > general residential district ($754ea/cm^3$) > general commercial district ($744ea/cm^3$). The ion index calculated from measured data can be arranged in the order: productive green district (2.09) > general residential district (1.53) > general commercial district (1.01). These results confirm the state of positive and negative ion generation in each land use type. Further, the differences in the ion index by land use type were confirmed. However, a limitation of this study is that simple summer measurements were conducted, and seasonal characteristics were not considered. Therefore, any future investigation and research should consider seasonal variation characteristics.

  • We explore what factors influence the residential choice and mobility of people, and try to figure out the preferable residential district in Deagu. Household, housing characteristics, and neighborhood environments are considered as explanatory variables to predict the residential choice and the preferable residential district, and logit regression is used for the analysis. We found age, ownership, income, property, and education level as household characteristics, building age as housing characteristics, and accessibility to park and open space, public library and shopping mall as neighborhood environments are significant in determining residential choice of people whereas housing size, accessibility to elementary school, local market, cultural facility and gymnasium are not significant. These results imply people choose the residential district according to household characteristics as they did, as well as choose according to housing characteristics and neighborhood environments which are newly issued factors.

It will be proposed the process of design concept determinants through such preferences. And We will investigate applicable steps for constructing an elementary school in land development district, in order to verify these process of architectural design. It was investigated paper-survey and case studies, made up questionnaires twice. In the results, we could verify that design process considering the preference of concept determinants in residential district. These results can help designers to design appropriately, according to building usage in residential district.

The process of this study is to investigate the characteristics of the physical structure and the building use, then to analyze the relationship of physical structure and the building use in the aspect of the morphological characteristics. The case study focuses on the Chil-kok2, An-Siml in Taegu. The streets pattern is composited gird and loop type mixed. The block is composited by 2 lots in general. But the obscurity of organization and character of the streets, the size and shape of lots which is not fit to the building use. A whole residential characters appears high residential density ratio. so residential environment became worse. The improving level of residential environment and efficiency of land use in the detached housing area of the housing site development district, firstly the propriety of the physical structure must be considered about detached house characters, and the housing uses which fit to the physical structure are needed, and also for the concrete realization of this, the designation of district, the zoning of residential area, the guideline of the district design, and establishment of comprehensive master planning in detached housing area are needed in aspect of the housing policy. As the result of this study, it suggests several design guideline to improve housing site development.
