Modern Japan has been known as the country manufacturing Shin-gosen that denotes Japanese synthetic fiber. Japan has long traditon of weaving and dyeing of local traditional Textiles. Japanese traditional weaving and dyeing methods have been handed down through hundred years and various type of textiles have been fabricated in different regions. Japanese modern worldly famous fashion designers are recognized by using the Japanese traditional textiles. Traditional textiles of Japan are inherited in the present age and become the source of inspiration for modern Japanese fashion designers. This research investigated the originality and modernity of 10 kinds of main Japanese traditional textiles by design servey, 5kinds of weaving methods and 5kinds of dyeing methods. The 5kinds weaving methods include Kasuri, Shima, Cizimi, Zohu, Chumugi and 5kinds dyeing methods include Izome, Katazome, Tuzukaki, Uzen, Shibori dyeing.
In this study the effect of different surface finishing techniques on the pitting corrosion behaviour of a commercial 304 stainless steel alloy was investigated. Surface finishing methods were divided into two categories, i.e. mechanical and chemical. Mechanical treatment methods include power tooling such as grinding, emery paper brushing, stainless steel wire brushing and stainless steel shot blasting. Chemical treatment methods include chemical passivation (phosphoric acid, citric acid, nitric acid) and electro-cleaning (phosphoric acid and citric acid). Potentiodynamic polarization experiments were carried out in 3.5 wt. % NaCl solution at room temp. (20 $^{\circ}C$). The results showed that chemical treatment methods improved the corrosion resistance of stainless steel 304, measured in terms of pitting potential ($E_{pit}$). Corrosion resistance of the specimens was increased in the order of; electro-cleaning > manual passivation > mechanical cleaning. Surface of electro-cleaned specimens was smoother than rest of the surface treatment methods. Chrome content in chemically treated specimens was higher than in mechanically treated specimens as shown by EDX analysis.
Background: The chemical characterization of metallic alloys and oxides is conventionally carried out by wet chemical analytical methods and/or instrumental methods. Instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA) is capable of analyzing samples nondestructively. As a part of a chemical quality control exercise, Zircaloys 2 and 4, nimonic alloy, and zirconium oxide samples were analyzed by two INAA methods. The samples of alloys and oxides were also analyzed by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES) and direct current Arc OES methods, respectively, for quality assurance purposes. The samples are important in various fields including nuclear technology. Methods: Samples were neutron irradiated using nuclear reactors, and the radioactive assay was carried out using high-resolution gamma-ray spectrometry. Major to trace mass fractions were determined using both relative and internal monostandard (IM) NAA methods as well as OES methods. Results: In the case of alloys, compositional analyses as well as concentrations of some trace elements were determined, whereas in the case of zirconium oxides, six trace elements were determined. For method validation, British Chemical Standard (BCS)-certified reference material 310/1 (a nimonic alloy) was analyzed using both relative INAA and IM-NAA methods. Conclusion: The results showed that IM-NAA and relative INAA methods can be used for nondestructive chemical quality control of alloys and oxide samples.

In the $21^{st}$ century of digital information society, design is changing from an analog era that focuses on logical and rational knowledge to a new paradigm of an era focused on sensible communications that can react fast. Design becomes to fulfill sensible needs; moreover, full efforts are being made in the academic research of sensibility evaluation for the conceptualization, quantization, and visualization of design sensibilities based on the measurement and evaluation of sensibility. This study provides insight into a sensibility evaluation method to understand the global user's sensibility in the fashion design field. As for research methods, first, measurement methods of physical, psychological, and physiological reactions to design sensibility were examined through written research on sensibility evaluation in both domestic and overseas research. Next, studies on sensibility during the past 15 years from 2000 to 2014 in the field of domestic fashion design were analyzed to grasp research trends in sensibility evaluation methods; subsequently, suitable sensibility evaluation methods for current fashion design were discussed. As a result of the study, it was shown that most sensibility evaluation studies in the field of domestic fashion design are based on surveys using sensibility terms. However, it requires the process of translating among different terms in different lingual cultures and within the limits of a uniformed evaluation. In this regard, recent cases of overseas design studies have been applying new methods to measure physiological reactions such as eye tracking methods combined with IT. The analysis of multilateral sensibility evaluation methods in this study have significant meaning for use as basic data to establish a planning for an evaluation scale to measure the sensibility of global consumers towards modern fashion design more quantitatively.

Phycocyanin (PC) is one of the water-soluble accessory pigments of cyanobacteria species, and its concentration is used to estimate the presence and relative abundance of cyanobacteria. In laboratory experiments, PC content of field data were determined using Sarada's freeze-thaw method in algal bloom season. The effectiveness of three selected extraction methods (repeated freeze-thaw method, homogenization, power control) for PC were determined. The extraction efficiency of phycocyanin was the highest (of the methods compared) when a single freezing-thawing cycle was followed by pre-sonication. Applying this optimized method to surface water of Korean inland waters, the average concentration distribution was estimated at $2.9{\sim}51.9mg/m^3$. It has been shown that the optimized pre-sonication method is suitable to measure cyanobacteria PC content for the characterization of inland waters. The approach and results of this study indicates the potential of effective methods for remote monitoring and management of water quality in turbid inland waters using hyperspectral remote sensing.

We classified preprocessing methods into (1) analytic methods, (2) methods for removing implied free variables, (3) methods using pivot or elementary row operations, (4) methods for removing linearly dependent rows and columns and (5) methods for dense columns. We noted some considerations to which should be paid attention when preprocessing methods are applied to interior point methods for linear programming. We proposed an efficient order of preprocessing methods and data structures. We also noted the recovery process for dual solutions. We implemented the proposed preprocessing methods. and tested it with 28 large scale problems of NETLIB. We compared the results of it with those of preprocessing routines of HOPDM, BPDPM and CPLEX.
This study attempted to develop and suggest a more appropriate method for the determination of event mean concentration (EMC) and pollutant removal efficiency of a stormwater best management practice (BMP) considering rainfall. The stormwater runoff and hydrologic data gathered from 22 storm events during a 28-month monitoring period on a swirl and filtration type of BMP were used to evaluate the developed methods. Based on the findings, the modified EMC method resulted in lower (average) values than the overall EMC, although the differences were not significant (P>0.05). By comparison, the developed 'Rainfall Occurrence Ratio' (ROR) method was most significantly correlated (r=0.967 to 988, P<0.009) with the other existing removal efficiency determination methods such as the 'Efficiency Ratio' (ER), 'Summation of Loads' (SOL) and 'Regression of Loads' (ROL) methods. In addition, the ROR method gave the highest efficiency values, with no significant differences with any of the pollutant parameters, unlike the other three methods. These results were obtained because the ROR method integrated both pollutant loading and rainfall, which are not considered by the other three methods. Therefore, this study proved the suitability of the modified EMC and ROR methods for application in other BMP monitoring studies.
This study is concerned with the survey methods to approach a research into ‘local architecture’ in korea. Local materials for architecture can be classified into local buildings, local documents, local conditions. To perform the survey research into local architecture effectively, it demands a reasonable survey methods depending on the characteristics of materials for architecture, and we have to give careful consideration to the survey process, the materials collecting, the materials noting and reporting. The typical survey methods of local are presented in this article.

The purpose of this parer is to provide a survey of the state of the art of routing methods in store-and-forward computer networks. The survey is carried out in line with a new taxonomy: heuristic methods, user-optimization methods, and system-optimization methods. This taxonomy on routing algorithms is based on two viewpoints: the level of optimization and the relative difficulty for the implementation in real computer networks. Some actual methods implemented in real computer networks are surveyed as well as the theoretical studies in the literature. This paper concludes with some points in need of further researches.

This study examined the influence of manufacturing processes and extraction conditions on the chemical compositions of green tea. Green tea samples grown in various areas (Korea, China, and Japan) and processed by 4 different methods (steaming, pan-firing, steaming and pan-firing, and heavy roasting after steaming and pan-firing) were collected for study. The chemical compositions of the green tea extracts and infusions were different according to their processing methods and extraction conditions, including catechins, caffeine, and free amino acids contents. In all samples analyzed, (-)-epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), (-)-epigallocatechin (EGC), and theanine were determined as the major catechins and free amino acid, respectively. Studies of samples grown in the same area (Jeju; Korea) showed that there were significant differences in the concentrations of catechins and caffeine in extract and infusion according to the processing methods. These results indicate that processing methods influenced the chemical compositions of the green tea extracts and infusions.
