The purpose of this study was to describe the nature of nursing and life style of nurses. This study was conducted from march, 1994 to May, 1995. There are two kinds of data used in this research. To discern the nature of nursing and life style of nurses, 34 articles selected from nursing journals and text books, and the data which were collected by unstructured questionare with two main open ended questions were analyzed using Strauss and Corbin's method. The questions were "what is nature of nursing?" "When do you feel your professionl life worth?" 29 participants were nurses working at two university hospitals and two general hospitals in Seoul, understood the study purpose. The results were as follows : (1) The nursing is evolving phenomenon which is developed, and changed. (1) ${\lceil}$encounter${\rfloor}$${\lceil}$trust${\rfloor}$${\lceil}$interrelationship${\rfloor}$have been identified as the causal condition of nursing phenomenon. (2) ${\lceil}$concern${\rfloor}$has been identified as the central phenomenon of nursing. (3) ${\lceil}$humanity${\rfloor}$${\lceil}$sincerity${\rfloor}$${\lceil}$nursing spirit${\rfloor}$${\lceil}$empathy${\rfloor}$${\lceil}$understanding${\rfloor}$have been identified as intervening condition and context of nursing phenomenon. (4) ${\lceil}$helping behavior${\rfloor}$has been identified as action/strategy of nursing phenomenon. (5) ${\lceil}$caring${\rfloor}$${\lceil}$observation${\rfloor}$${\lceil}$comfort${\rfloor}$${\lceil}$problem solving${\rfloor}$${\lceil}$co-ordination${\rfloor}$${\lceil}$education${\rfloor}$${\lceil}$stimulus${\rfloor}$have been as helping behavior. (6) ${\lceil}$change${\rfloor}$${\lceil}$growth and development${\rfloor}$${\lceil}$to do by oneself${\rfloor}$ have been as consequences of nursing phenomenon. (2) the nature of nursing have been classified into five properties ; ${\lceil}$relational property${\rfloor}$${\lceil}$moral property${\rfloor}$${\lceil}$technological property${\rfloor}$${\lceil}$behavioral property${\rfloor}$${\lceil}$objective property${\rfloor}$ (3) The life style of nurses is not considered as ${\lceil}$to have${\rfloor}$ living mode, but ${\lceil}$to be${\rfloor}$ living mode because the professional life of nurses is chracterized by ${\lceil}$encounter${\rfloor}$${\lceil}$trust${\rfloor}$${\lceil}$humanity${\rfloor}$${\lceil}$understanding${\rfloor}$${\lceil}$concern${\rfloor}$${\lceil}$togetherness with human being${\rfloor}$${\lceil}$growth and development${\rfloor}$ and others, which are properties of the nature of nursing, and are also considered as esential factors of real existence of professional nurse as a human being in nursing situation.
The purpose of this study was to understand the labor division between men's housework and market work and to research the change of men's contribution to housework. And it was also examined what kinds of valuables work on a change in men's market work and housework. The information about men's change in the labor division was collected from the biggest 5 news papers in Korea for last five years for this study. And either men's new participation trend to household work did. Words searched for this study were men, labor, family, home, housewife, work, household work, father etc. Korean men have experienced a overloaded breadwinner role and have worked most in the world since 1960s. But Korean men's working time was continuously decreased a little every year. As Korean Companies had fired many worker during IMP economic crisis period, Korean men had to work more than before because of decreased fellows and they should have concentrated on their work at the sacrifice of private life and family-sharing time. On the other hand, some men were started to participate to do housework as a results of long-unemployment and early retirement after this periods. 5 day working system be in forced gradually since 2003 especially make men come back home and interest on housework. So Korean men's housework participation is gradually increasing by the practical application of sex-equitable politics such as 5 day working system and men's suspension regime for baby care. father's increased participation to children education and care, men's new family-oriented life style, dual-sexuality education system, and socially changed perception to husband housemaker. These interrelated trends demands us to shape a new labor division pattern in the family that make change the breadwinner/homemaker conception by the gender role. Now, all of family, men, women, and children have to join housework. It would help women, men, and all families make more human and equitable relationship.
Background : Clinical practice guidelines define "systematically developed statements to assist practitioner and patient decisions about appropriate health care for specific clinical circumstances" and help to improve patient care. The purpose of this study is to develop a clinical practice guideline for the most effective diagnoses and treatments of benign prostatic hyperplasia based on patient preference and clinical need. Methods : For this research project, extensive literature searches (208 articles) were conducted. As well, critical reviews and syntheses (meta-analysis) were used to evaluate empirical evidence and significant outcomes of the BPH literature. Questionnaires about clinical practice for BPH patients were distributed and consensus meetings were undertaken to grasp variations in clinical practice and to reach agreement on the guideline's development. The guideline was promoted under the sponsorship of the Korean Medical Association and the Korean urological Cancer. Society. For the task, the Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia Guideline Panel was composed of multidisciplinary experts in the field. Results : BPH is a disease that affects a patient's quality of life. This Clinical Practice Guideline was developed for the typical man over age 50 with symptoms of prostatism, but with no significant medical morbidities such as diabetes or other known causes of voiding dysfunction, such as urethral stricture or neurogenic bladder. The guidelines detail the relative benefits and obstacles associated with all diagnostic and treatment approaches, including watchful waiting. Conclusion : This guideline provides a cornerstone for our medical association. It represents the most current scientific knowledge regarding the development, diagnosis, and treatment of BPH. It will be revised and updated as needed.
Purpose: Anatomical basis around orbit can be helpful in periorbital surgery, and there are many articles about measurement between periorbital reference points. In 1967, Jones and Evans measured the orbital wall thickness of Asian cadavers and this article has been cited more than 50 times. But there is no research in orbital thickness in Vivo. Author's idea was based on difference between live human and human cadaver. Material & Method: We conducted this study from 63 consecutive blow out fracture patients between January, 2000 to june, 2005 by collecting the bone fragments and measured the thickness of that fragment using vernia calipers. Anatomically, orbital floor is separated two area by inferior orbital fissure and we measured each area. Three areas were zone I (medial wall), zone II (medial to inferior orbital fissure) and zone III (lateral to inferior orbital fissure). Result: When the overall results were considered, the thickness of Zone I (medial wall of orbit) was average $0.131{\pm}0.006mm$ in male and $0.129{\pm}0.007mm$ in female and Zone II (medial side of orbital floor) was $0.251{\pm}0.005mm$ in male and $0.245{\pm}0.006mm$ in female, Zone III (lateral side of orbital floor) was $0.237{\pm}0.006mm$ in male and $0.226{\pm}0.006mm$ in female. There were no statistical difference between orbital wall thickness of male and female. Also, orbital wall thickness of adults measured $0.130{\pm}0.005mm$, $0.250{\pm}0.005mm$, $0.232{\pm}0.006mm$ in Zone I, Zone II, Zone III and $0.128{\pm}0.006mm$, $0.233{\pm}0.005mm$, $0.215{\pm}0.007mm$ in Zone I, Zone II, Zone III from childs, and there were no statistical difference between adult and child. Conclusion: This article is the first study about Korean orbital wall thickness, and can be helpful to periocular surgery.

As a law library representing the Department of Justice, the Supreme Court Library of Korea collects various domestic and foreign legal information and aims to become more publicly accessible. In 2018, after its relocation to Goyang, Korea, the library has initiated check-out services to citizens and is currently developing a plan to provide services in the legal field. In this study, we have assessed the current situation at the Supreme Court Library as well as public libraries in Goyang. Furthermore, we have surveyed future users and legal experts to formulate a proposal for optimal literary composition and spatial composition, as well as library arrangement. Survey participants expected extensive provision of legal information regarding legal professions and the general public. There was a significant difference in opinion between legal experts and users with respect to resources for the public; general citizens desire more materials related to general topics whereas legal experts expect more law-specific resources such as information regarding judicial precedents and court decisions, research articles. Furthermore, 80% of users expressed interest in utilizing the library; therefore, active efforts to improve its facilities will lead to successful operations of the library.

This study examined the status of studies on exercise interventions for middle-aged women with chronic low back pain that had been conducted over the past 10 years (2005-2014) in Korea. The existing reports were searched electronically using the database of RISS, National Assembly Library, KISS, and DBpia with the key words of middle-aged women, chronic low back pain, exercise, and exercise program. Finally, 12 articles were included in the review. One article was from nursing science, and 11 were from other disciplines. In a qualitative evaluation on the papers, 1 study scored 8 out of 10 points, 8 studies scored between 5-6 points, and 3 studies scored 3-4 points. Intervention sessions were conducted for 55 minutes, on average, each at a frequency of 3.1 sessions per week, for a total of 29.7 sessions. This study found that lumbar neuromuscular exercise, yoga exercise, and aquatic exercise were effective in rehabilitation in middle-aged women with chronic low back pain. In the future, these findings are expected to be used in nursing intervention for the establishment of the basis for evidence-based nursing practice.
Objectives : The aim of this study is to review RCTs of acupuncture treatment for neck pain and to establish standards of acupuncture treatment for neck pain. Methods : We searched articles in Pubmed using ICD 10. Study quality was assessed using the FEAS and Jadad score. Results and Conclusions : Three review studies and nineteen clinical trials were searched and reviewed. Among the nineteen clinical trials reviewed, positive outcome was reported in thirteen studies. Most frequently used meridians were GB, BL, SI, GV and LI, The most frequently used acupuncture points were $GB_{20}$, $GB_{21}$, $LI_4$, $BL_{10}$, $GV_{14}$ and $SI_3$. More than two needles were inserted in the studies and needle retention time was more than 10 minutes. The most frequently used needle length was 40mm, and diameter was 0.25mm and 0.30mm. The mean number of treatment sessions were more than 10 times. Frequency of treatment was more than once a week, And treatment duration was more! than 5 weeks. The total FEAS scores ranged from 3 to 15.5, and the mean value was 9.39. Jadad score ranged from 2 to 5, and the mean value was 3.42. The number of studies scoring over three points on the Jadad scale was sixteen.
Objectives : To analyze the inclusion criteria of participants, control group interventions, and the results of prior studies of acupuncture for OA. Also to identify aspects of the procedure that are associated with positive outcomes in order to establish ideal acupuncture treatment model. And to assess the methodological quality of the trials with modified Jadad score and FEAS in order to evaluate the quality of prior studies and find out whether or not acupuncture has a positive effect in treating OA. Methods : Articles up to the date of November 2008 were searched via computerized databases of PubMed, Journal of Korean Oriental Medicine, The Journal of Korean Acupuncture & Moxibustion Society and Journal of Oriental Rehabilitation Medicine. Bibliographies of reviewed papers were also searched and reviewed. Only randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and systematic reviews concerning the effects of acupuncture or electroacupuncture (EA) on symptoms of osteoarthritis of the human knee, published in English and Korean were included. The acupuncture treatment methods of the reviewed trials were assessed based on STRICTA. And the methodological quality of the trials was assessed by modified Jadad score and FEAS. Results : Twenty one trials of acupuncture for OA were analyzed. Based on the results of this review the following factors might contribute to optimal results from acupuncture treatment. 1) Usage of $ST_{35}$, $GB_{34$, $EX_{32}$, $ST_{36}$ and $SP_9$ acupuncture points. 2) More than four acupuncture points should be used. 3) More than 15 minutes of needle retention time. 4) Needle length-40mm and diameter-0.30mm 5) Usage of EA 6) more than 10 times treatment 7) Treatment frequency of more than once a week, 8) Treatment duration longer than 6 to 8 weeks. Conclusions : High quality clinical trials of Acupuncture for OA is still in lack. Future investigators must concentrate their attentions on the quality of acupuncture treatment itself used in the trials as well as the methodological quality of trials.
The shroud of the Chosun dynasty period originally meant the new start in the next world. Its basic principle was to wear the best clothes or wedding garments during one's life. The white hemp cloth-shroud worn during this time was formed after the 20th century. In the beginning it started simply by imitating the shroud of the common people. However recently many aspects of the trade have deteriorated by the commercialism of the shroud traders. So this study focuses on the way of keeping traditions and making the shroud desirable. First, the shroud was made of the best materials such as silk, hemp cloth, ramie cloth and cotton cloth in the past. A thought that the shroud material must be white hemp cloth is the result from misunderstanding of the traditional shroud of the Chosun dynasty period. We can produce beautiful shrouds using natural materials without losing dignity and at diverse prices. Second, the shroud was produced not only to keep the dignity of a dead person but also to avoid wasting the original cloth. Third, The shroud has pursued diversity in classifying the traditional style or the basic style. It is possible to select the shroud flexibly according to one's sense of values or the way the tomb was made. These days, the Korean full-dress attire and Wonsam (Korean woman's ceremonial clothes) are the standardized form of the ready-made shroud. The man's Korean full-dress attire on sale is sewn in the wrong way and its shape looks more like the Wonsam. I offer diverse shrouds of the Chosun dynasty period, for example, the official uniform, hemp cloth upper garment, men's black upper garment, Korean full-dress attire, Korean overcoat, Wonsam, the long hood worn by a Korean woman and a woman's long upper garment, so that we can see the Korean originality and beauty through the different types of shrouds. Also, I adjusted a number of items, undergarments and other articles according to the price. As mentioned before this study helps to portray a desirable understanding of the culture of the shroud. So I corrected many problems of the present shroud and propose a new type of shroud based on tradition. Furthermore, I recommend a way of making use of the Hanbok which the man wears during his life, at the wedding ceremony or a his 60th birthday without buying a new shroud.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to understand a variety of intervention studies to prevent smoking by adolescents in U.S. and find out implications for Korea. Methods: This study reviewed articles found in the internet and analysed the data of US DHHS and CDC. Results: The School Health Policies and Programs Study (SHPPS) is a national survey periodically conducted to assess school health policies and programs of U.S. The main components of SHPPS are health education and physical education, health services, mental health and social services, school policies, and school environments. The CDC guidelines for school health programs to prevent tobacco use and addiction are composed of policy, instruction, curriculum, training, family involvement, tobacco-use cessation efforts, and evaluation. School-based interventions to prevent smoking can be classified into the categories of information-giving curricula, social competence curricula, social influence approaches, combined methods draw on social competence and social influence approaches and multi-modal programmes and Youth Empowerment study. The key programs for adolescent smoking prevention are ALERT Project, HSPP, TNT Project, MPP, NC YES. Conclusions: As smoking is often the first step of unhealthy behaviour such as alcohol drinking, illegal drugs, and violence, smoking prevention programmes for adolescents in U.S. have been comprehensive school-based health programs. In smoking prevention programs for adolescents, CDC plays a critical role by supporting survey, research, policy, and funds. The effectiveness of the programs was high when it was based on school and involved parents, community, and mass media. As the effect of each programme is not expected to last for a long time, consistent repetition of these interventions is essential. Current smoking prevention programs for adolescents are exploring the empowerment approach focused on the active involvement of participants rather than traditional approaches using order and discipline.
