Effectiveness of SMEs Support by Retired Scientists and Engineers

  • Technology and knowledge are emerging as core elements of competitiveness for businesses. SMEs lack technology and knowledge, and are also limited in their ability to absorb external knowledge. The government is supporting SMEs' absorption of external knowledge by utilizing retired scientists and engineers, but related research is insufficient. Thus, this study conducted an empirical analysis on the effects of support by retired scientists and engineers at SMEs. Specifically, the study confirmed the effects of company competitiveness and technology development capacities at each stage of technology commercialization. Results of the study confirmed that in an environment where technology competitiveness of SMEs are emphasized, the support of retired scientists and engineers has some effect on the competitiveness of SMEs and their technology development capacity. Therefore, this study suggests important implications for future policy development and execution of related projects.

농업 부문 데이터 산업 경쟁력 제고 방안 (Exploring Enhancements of Data Industry Competitiveness in the Agricultural Sector)

  • Data is indispensable for digital transformation of agriculture with the development of innovative information and communication technology (ICT). In order to devise and prioritize strategies for enhancing data competitiveness in the agricultural sector, we employed an Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) analysis. Drawing from existing research on data competitiveness indicators, we developed a three-tier decision-making structure reflecting unique characteristics of the agricultural sector such as farmers'awareness of the data industry or awareness of agriculture among data workers. AHP survey was administered to experts from both agricultural and non-agricultural sectors with a high understanding of data. The overall composite importance, derived from the respondents, was rated in the following order: 'Employment Support', 'Data Standardization', 'R&D Support', 'Start-up Ecosystem Support', 'Relaxation of Regulations', 'Legislation', and 'Data Analytics and Utilization Technology'. In the case of experts in the agricultural sector, 'Employment Support' was ranked as the top priorities, and 'Legislation', 'Undergrad and Grad Education', and 'In-house Training' were also regarded as highly important. On the other hand, experts in the non-agricultural sector perceived 'Data Standardization' and 'Relaxation of Regulations' as the top two priorities, and 'Data Center' and 'Open Public Data' were also highly rated.

2015 개정 교육과정 중학교 기술·가정 교과서 '인간발달과 가족' 영역에 반영된 다문화교육 내용 분석 (Analysis of Multi-Cultural Education Contents of 'Human Development and Family' Area of Middle School Technology-Home Economics Textbooks in Accordance with the 2015 Revised Curriculum)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 2015 개정 교육과정 중학교 기술·가정교과서의 '인간발달과 가족' 영역에서 다문화교육 내용이 어떻게 반영되고 있는지 분석개념별로 분석하는 데 있으며, 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 2015 개정교육과정 중학교 기술·가정교과서 5종(총 10권)에 실린 다문화교육 내용을 종합해 보면, 정체성, 다양성, 평등성, 협력 등 다문화교육 분석개념 4가지를 모두 반영하고 있었다. 가장 높은 빈도를 보이는 것은 협력이며, 그 다음이 정체성, 다양성의 순서였고, 평등성에 대한 내용은 가장 낮은 빈도를 나타내고 있었다. 둘째, 2015 개정교육과정 중학교 기술·가정교과서 5종(총 10권)에 실린 다문화교육 내용을 구체적으로 살펴보면 자아 및 정체성을 형성하고, 다양한 관점에서 가족의 변화를 이해하고 다양한 가족의 형태를 존중하고 수용하며, 편견 없는 양성 평등한 관점에서 가족 공동체 문화를 형성하여 궁극적으로 개인과 가정이 서로 협력하고 배려하면서 모두가 공존할 수 있는 내용을 배울 수 있도록 다문화교육 내용이 본문, 시각자료, 학습활동에 포함되어 있었다. 따라서 가정교과는 다문화 청소년의 삶과 연계된 내용을 중심으로 실천적 문제를 해결할 수 있도록 실천적 추론을 할 수 있는 내용 구성으로 이루어져 보다 성숙한 다문화교육 문화에 중추적인 역할을 기여해야 한다.

1인 가구 시대의 가정과교육 방향 탐색 (Exploring the Direction of Home Economics Education in Preparation for the Generalization of a One-Person Household)

  • This study explores the social phenomenon of the universalization of one-person households through a literature analysis and text mining in order to explore a future direction for Home Economics Education(HEE) development in the one-person household era. From 2010 to 2018, texts from newspaper articles and book content of one-person households were analyzed through R program. The results of the study are as follows. In order to develop students' competency to live a happy life in the one-person household era, it is necessary to: (1) expand the preemptive and collaborative research of HEE, (2) develop and operate a curriculum to raise the living competency to live alone, (3) expand opportunities for secondary school students as well as off-campus youth, middle-aged, and elderly students, and (4) develop various HEE's elective curriculum focusing on the ability to live as one-person household. Also, (5) in order to overcome the psychological and social poverty and isolation of one-person households, HEE should strengthen the learner's ability to form relationships through self-esteem, care of others, community life, communication and conflict resolution education. In conclusion, HEE's independent living competency, relationship formation competency, and practical problem solving competency are all necessary competencies to live in one-person households. In this study, it is meaningful to suggest a future direction for HEE and to use new research methods such as word cloud techniques in the absence of HEE's previous research in relation to the increase of one-person households.

The Dynamics of Economic Growth in Underdeveloped Regions: A Case Study in Indonesia

  • This study aims to determine the response of regional economic growth to the financial performance of regional economies in regard to the liquidity conditions, saving-investment gaps, trade openness, inflation, as well as the national economic growth. The basic logic theory of research uses the principles of open economics and financial intermediary systems. The data used in this study are secondary data, and the form of data is a quarterly time series for the period from 2008 to 2019. The data were obtained from various publications, such as the Central Statistics Agency (CSA), Regional Financial Economics Statistics (RFES), Indonesian Banking Statistics (IBS), and the Financial Services Authority (FSA). Data processing was done through VAR/VECM analysis; short-term and long-term equilibrium analyses were carried out. The results of the analysis illustrate that regional economic growth and the conditions of liquidity, saving-investment gaps, trade openness, inflation, and national economic growth are related and lead to significant impact variations in the provinces of Papua and West Papua. In conclusion, the findings of this research support the leading supply hypothesis and reformulate the strategy and policy of economic development, bearing in mind that there are still many underdeveloped districts in these two provinces.

색지와 색가구를 통해 본 취학전 아동의 색채선호 경향에 관한 연구 (Color preference of preschool children for the paper and for furniture)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate 1) color concept development in preschool children, 2) general color preferences using colored parers, 3) specific color preference using colored chairs, and 4) to determine the relationships of sex and age to general color preference. The present experiment with materials developed through the pilot experiment, was conducted with 70 3, 4, and 5-year-old children attending the Child development research institute of Yonsei Univ. as subjects. Data were analyzed with SAS package using frequency, percentage, $\chi$\sup 2\-test, C\sup 2\ and visualized by SAS graph with tektronix 4113.

Research data repository requirements: A case study from universities in North Macedonia

  • With research data generation on the rise, Institutional Repositories (IR) are one of the tools to manage it. However, the variety of data practices across institutions, domains, communities, etc., often requires dedicated studies in order to identify the research data management (RDM) require- ments and mapping them to IR features to support them. In this study, we investigated the data practices for a few national universities in North Macedonia, including 110 participants from different departments. The methodology we adopted to this end enabled us to derive some of the key RDM requirements for a variety of data-related activities. Finally, we mapped these requirements to 6 features that our participants asked for in an IR solution: (1) create (meta)data and documentation, (2) distribute, share, and promote data, (3) provide access control, (4) store, (5) backup, and (6) archive. This list of IR features could prove useful for any university that has not yet established an IR solution.

중학교 가정교과와 다른교과의 교육내용 관련성 분석 (A Analysis of the Relevance between Home Economics and Other Subjects in the Middle School)

  • The purpose of this study is two-fold. One is to provide the teachers of Home Economics with the basic reference data of the relevance between Home Economics and other subjects taught in the middle schools for the purpose of bringing out more efficient classroom teaching. The other is to help the teachers, the textbook writers, and the curriculum reformers improve the curricula of the middle school on the basis of this research. The conclusions drawn from this study are as follows: 1) The units of Human Development and Family Relationship should be taught with reference to Korean Language, Ethics, and Music. 2) The unit of Adolescence Development is dealt with in Physical Education and in Ethics as well, which seems to indicate that there was no interdisciplinary consideration and cooperation before/when the curricula were made. 3) The unit of Nutrition which appears in the first grade in Home Economics has a close relationship with the unit of Morphology and Physiology of Animals which appears in the second grade in Natural Science. It is thought that the interdisciplinary themes ought to be organized cooperatively among subjects for efficiency of study. 4) Since the unit of Clothing is not dealt with in the other subjects, ti can be developed in Home Economics on its own. 5) As the unit of Housing is closely related to Technology, it should be taught on the basis of Technology. 6) The textbooks of all subjects should be written based on the interdisciplinary research and cooperation. They should be organized in order not to overlap or repeat the same topic in the same level if it is not necessary.

실천적 추론 가정과 수업이 중학생의 가정교파 인식에 미치는 효과 (The effects of practical reasoning home economics instruction on middle school students' views of home economics)

  • 본 연구는 실천적 추론 가정과 수업이 가정 교과 인식을 변화시키는 데 효과가 있는지 알아보는 데 목적을 두었다. 가정교과에 대한 인식은 Thomas(1986)가 분류한 시대에 따른 여섯 가지의 견해, 즉 전통적 여성역할, 수공훈련, 과학지식의 응용, 가족관리, 가족발달, 어려움에 처해 있는 집단을 도와주는 교육으로서의 견해를 중심으로 살펴보았다. 본 연구는 "실천적 추론 가정과 수업은 중학생의 가정교과에 대한 인식을 변화시키는데 효과가 있는가?"의 연구문제를 다루기 위하여 독립변수는 수업방식(실험집단은 실천적 추론 수업 비교집단은 교과서 위주의 수업), 종속변수는 가정교과에 대한 인식으로 하여 의사실험 연구를 수행하였다. 광주광역시에 소재하는 중학교 2학년 학생 137명을 대상으로 실험집단에서는 '실천적 추론 수업'을, 비교집단에서는 '일반적인 가정과 교과서를 위주로 한 수업'을 각각 10차시씩 진행하였다. 집단의 사전 사후 차이를 알아보기 위해서 실시한 대응표본 t-test 결과 실천적 추론 가정과 수업은 가정과교과에 대한 인식 가운데 수공 훈련을 강조하는 교과라는 인식을 감소시켰고, 어려움에 처해 있는 집단을 도와주는 교과라는 인식을 향상시켰다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해서 실천적 추론 수업은 가정교과를 전근대적 교육으로 생각하는 사회적 인식을 획기적으로 변화시킬 수 있는 좋은 수업이라 사료된다 또한 현재의 제 7차 교육과정을 토대로 개발된 가정 교과서를 중심으로 수업을 한다고 해도 가정교과를 가족관리나 가족발달을 강조하는 교과로 인식시킬 수 있어 앞으로 가정교과에 대한 긍정적인 인식을 기대할 수 있다.
