The goal of this research is to find a theoretical base of the ecological paradigm, and explore the architectural ramification of the paradigm. To understand the paradigm in a historical and philosophical context, the paradigm is comparatively analyzed with the contrasting, Descartes-Newtonian paradigm to reveal the influence of each respective paradigm in various fields of science, such as logic, physics, bio-medical sciences, psychology, social sciences, and architecture. The affect in architectural ream is studied to find out the patterns of how the two contrasting paradigms have been materialized since the era of modern architecture and later. At the end, this paper proposes the possible architectural application methods of ecological design process.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics of the research paradigm and to explore the characteristics and limitations of the representative evaluation models belonging to each paradigm. The research paradigm is Positivism, Interpretivism, Critical Theory, and Postmodernism. The evaluation models that represent each paradigm include Objective-oriented evaluation model, Forth generation evaluation model, Empowerment evaluation model, Connoisseurship & Criticism model. The characteristics of each evaluation model reflects the characteristics of their own research paradigm.

This paper proposes a paradigm for research on broadcast political interviews. Developed using a series of studies, the paradigm introduces core aspects and questions that should be addressed when examining political interviews in a particular society. This paradigm will enable researchers to collect detailed accounts of the interaction between interviewers and interviewees, the structure and tone of the questions posed to interviewees and the interviewees' communicative style when addressing such questions, and the strategies employed by the participants to pursue their goals. It is hoped that the paradigm will encourage the interest and facilitate the study of televised political interviews particularly from the nationally, culturally, and socially diversified Asian countries. Gathering detailed data from non-Western societies in Asia will also facilitate our understanding of the function and effect of political communication from a cross-cultural perspective.

하나의 학문이 독립된 학문 분야로 성장하기 위해서는 그 학문 집단의 구성원들이 공통으로 이해하고 공유하는 가치기준(패러다임 : paradigm)이 있어야 하고 어떤 독자적인 학문체계(정체성 : identity)가 정립되려면 관련학회의 학문연구 활동을 통한 경쟁으로 새로운 패러다임을 구성하고 학문의 정체성이 확립되어야 하므로 정치학, 경제학, 심리학 등 분야에서는 이를 위한 노력이 어느 정도 이루어지고 있으나 소방학 분야에 있어서는 학문의 공동연구를 위한 학회의 활동은 물론, 학자 간 학문의 교류 연구가 미미하여 새로운 학문의 패러다임으로 자리 잡지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제의 근원을 파악하여 한국 실정에 맞는 소방학의 학문적 패러다임 구성과 정체성 확립의 방향을 제시하고자 한다.

The purpose of this research is two-fold : (1) we propose the paradigm to construct a connected information society according to a judgment where a coming information society will evolve into highly-connected information society having "seamlessness" as a keyword, and (2) we draw guidelines to construct infrastructures and establish systems and business models of highly-connected information society based on suggested paradigm. To achieve this, this research conducts the followings. First, we suggest reasons why a coming information society can be appropriate to be considered as highly-connected information society by examining two perspectives on the coming information society. Second, we explain the definition and characteristics of highly-connected information society and propose the SPB paradigm. Third, we analyze the utility of SPB paradigm by evaluating practices. Finally, we suggest four strategies to construct highly-connected information society based on advanced research findings and future research directions.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the Digital Paradigm cords depicted on the Digital Clothing by borrowing nearby fields. Therefore, it will offer not only theoretical data but also databases for product development on functional and aesthetic views even though it is not systematically set up the idea vet. The Digital Paradigm cords of Interactivity. Nonlinearity and Combination in the Digital Clothing were determined. This study found that Interactivity Paradigm cord was expressed by the interaction of clothing and computer, the techniques of built in·attach·detach·fragment of the Digital Clothing at the external indicators, and maintained this personalizing that was pursued comprehension and the shape and silhouette of the existed clothing, that Nonlinearity Paradigm cord was able to overcome the limitation of a successively approach, in other words the discontinuous moving possibilities of time and space, that Combination Paradigm cord was contained creative concept without fixed ideas through coordination of Digital Clothing that was combination. continuous creation, changes and process between heterogeneous factors. In conclusion, introduction of the new Digital Paradigm is going to accelerate on lasting development and research.

According to climate change, deficiency of usable land, large water portion of the Earth surface, and improvement of income level, floating architecture is emerging as a strong & attractive alternative. The aim of this study is to suggest some related applying ways for new building projects around waterside. New paradigm of architecture can be described as a new model and/or system of architecture with new concept and Zeitgeist like sustainability and green building. Floating building is already a new paradigm of architecture comparing with the preconception of building only on the land and current building regulations. New paradigm features from the sample projects can be summarized as new concepts of building, application of various renewable energy resources(water, solar, wind), modular construction, use of local raw material, dual purpose usage, long term and relocatable usage, and special building materials for green building.

Structural control is a very broad field combining the areas of automatic control and structural engineering, with applications ranging from aerospace and mechanical engineering to building and civil infrastructure systems. In this paper, the focus is placed on civil engineering applications only. The goal is to address the issues concurring to form the scientific paradigm. As a resut, possible future directions of research into this field are identified.

본 논문은 유비쿼터스 패러다임에 맞는 새로운 게임으로서 디지털 피지컬 필드게임을 제안하고자 한다. 이를 위해 산업 혁명과 정보화 혁명과 같은 사회적 패러다임의 변화에 따른 게임의 변화를 소통의 측면에서의 상호작용을 중심으로 살펴보고, 기존에 존재하는 유비쿼터스 게임과 그 한계점을 살펴보았다. 그리고 이러한 한계점을 극복할 수 있는 유비쿼터스 패러다임에 맞는 새로운 게임으로서 디지털 피지컬 필드 게임을 설계하였다. 또한, 이해를 돕고자 설계한 게임을 가장 잘 보여 줄 수 있는 실제 사례를 제시하였다. 이러한 연구를 통해 유비쿼터스 게임의 활성화에 도움이 될 수 있으며, 테마파크 및 체험관에 적용되는 기능성 콘텐츠로서 게임의 영역을 확장할 수 있을 것으로 기대할 수 있다.

The Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) has been studying the e-Science paradigm. With its successful application to particle physics, we consider the application of the paradigm to astroparticle physics. The Standard Model of particle physics is still not considered perfect even though the Higgs boson has recently been discovered. Astrophysical evidence shows that dark matter exists in the universe, hinting at new physics beyond the Standard Model. Therefore, there are efforts to search for dark matter candidates using direct detection, indirect detection, and collider detection. There are also efforts to build theoretical models for dark matter. Current astroparticle physics involves big investments in theories and computing along with experiments. The complexity of such an area of research is explained within the framework of the e-Science paradigm. The idea of the e-Science paradigm is to unify experiment, theory, and computing. The purpose is to study astroparticle physics anytime and anywhere. In this paper, an example of the application of the paradigm to astrophysics is presented.
