  • Purpose - This study aims to investigate the factors (experience value, social capital, cultural capital) affecting users' engagement in UGC platform, and to examine their effect on relationship commitment. The study further attempted to confirm the moderating effect of the need for self-expression. Design/methodology/approach - Data was collected from 230 UGC users through a survey, and the study performed a structural equation model analysis to validate the conceptual model which contains five research hypotheses. Findings - The study found that only service value, one of experiential values, has a significant positive (+) effect on customer engagement and that social capital and cultural capital also have a significant positive (+) effect on customer engagement In addition, customer engagement in the UGC platform was found to have a significant positive (+) effect on the relationship commitment. However, the need for self-expression did not moderate the relationship between customer engagement and relationship commitment. Research implications or Originality - Marketing strategies that can strengthen UGC users' engagement factors can lead up to follow-up research, which finds ways to improve not only users' engagement but also sustained relationship with the UGC platforms.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of basic needs and demographic variables of adult women upon clothing values. This study was designed with causal model regrading the demographic variables as independent variable: the basic need as interventing variable: the eight clothing values as dependent variables. The major findings of this research can be summarized as following; 1. Age of women has a definite effect on marriage status, school career and income. Age has effect on marriage status in seven values except exploratory value. It has effect on school career in aethetic and political values, and it has also effect on school career and income in social and religious values. 2. Age has no significant direct effect on the basic needs. Marriage status and school career have significant direct effect on the basic needs. Marriage status has positive effect on the need for self-esteem in seven values except exploratory value. The need for self-esteem of unmarried women are stronger than that of married women. School career has negative impact on the need for safety. The women having higher school career do not have strong need for safety in aethetic and social values. 3. School career, income, needs for safety, belongingness, self-esteem and self-actualizing have significant direct effect on clothing values. School career has positive effect on aethetic and political values, and it has negative effect on religious values. Income has negative effect upon social and religious values. Need for safety has negative effect on aethetic values. Need for safety is positively related with need for belongingneses, and they have an effect on the social values. Need for self-esteem has positive effect on the aethetic and political values, and it has negative impact on theoretical, economic, social and religious values. Need for self-actualizing has positive effect on the theoretical values.

  • Working onboard large ocean-going vessels is one of many industries that is by its very nature extremely error-provoking. In industries such as aviation, nuclear power, healthcare and transport, the need for mental preparedness and professionalism are amongst the qualities essential for the management of complex hazardous systems. Recruiting, training, and more importantly retaining the right people to work in these industries is of paramount importance if safety is to be continuously improved and economic benefits realized. Through consideration of extant empirical literature this paper will explore the need for enhancing collaboration between shipping companies and maritime training insitutes in order to provide the industry with those most capable for the job. It will be concluded that by providing a strong maritime foundation from the outset of training, maritime academies in South Korea can provide shipping companies with a wealth of highly qualified, motivated officers who will contribute to safety and remain valuable assets within the industry for years to come.

  • As the advent of the Internet, most of the modern firms are now forced to use the internet as one of telecommunication tools for daily activities, Especially, as the decision units and/or makers in a firm become geographically dispersed due to the globalization trend, the need for integrating them effectively on the Internet is getting attention from researchers and practitioners much more than ever. In literature, this kind of need has been specially conspicuous in the need for coordinating production and marketing activities which are known as one of the typically conflicting with each other in terms of purposes. Lee and Lee(1999) has proposed an interesting coordination environment for production and marketing, named PROMISE. This paper is aimed at improving the coordination algorithm utilized in PROMISE and accordingly proposing a web-driven DSS for the purpose of transforming PROMISE into a web-based decision support platform for production and marketing coordination.

  • Purpose: This study explores the effect of employee's growth needs strength on counterproductive work behaviors. Perceived job insecurity was also examined as a moderating variable on the relationship between the two variables. Research Design, data and methodology: This study collected 108 data samples from working individuals from South Korea. The Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and the hierarchical regression analysis were used to analyze the data. Hierarchical regression analysis was performed using SPSS 24.0. Results: Our research results indicated that employee's growth needs strength has a negative effect on counterproductive work behaviors. Perceived job insecurity moderates the relationship between the two variables. Conclusions: Organizations should focus on creating growth opportunities for employees, since facilitating employee's growth need strength will counteract the desire to engage in behaviors that can be detrimental to the organization. and its members.

  • Digital transformation (DT) has gained global attention in various service industries, due to the pervasive nature and proliferation of recent digital technologies. Given that we live in an age of DT, the current research examines the factors influencing the older adults' quality of life due to DT. Specifically, we examine whether the older adults' digital skills (i.e., ability to use applications and self-efficacy in using digital devices) and motivational factors regarding DT (i.e., involvement in DT and need for cognition regarding DT) predict their quality of life due to DT. To answer the research question, we conducted a hierarchical multiple regression analysis using the elderly Korean adults aged 65 or older. The results indicate that the older adults' ability to use applications, self-efficacy in using digital devices, involvement in DT, and need for cognition regarding DT are positively associated with quality of life due to DT. The findings provide important implications to improve the elderly's quality of life due to DT.

  • The need for LBS (Loc,ation Based Services) is increasing due to the wnespread of mobile computing devices and positioning technologies~ In LBS, there are many applications that need to manage moving objects (e.g. taxies, persons). The moving object join operation is to make pairs with spatio-temporal attribute for two sets in the moving object database system. It is import and complicated operation. And processing time increases by geometric progression with numbers of moving objects. Therefore efficient methods of spatio-temporal join is essential to moving object database system. In this paper, we apply spatial join methods to moving objects join. We propose two kind of join methods with TB- Tree that preserves trajectories of moving objects. One is depth first traversal spatio-temporaljoin and another is breadth-first traversal spatio-temporal join. We show results of performance test with sample data sets which are created by moving object ,generator tool.

  • Recently, the technology is getting to be the most important factor for companies, as the industry is changing fast. The uncertainty and complexity of technology valuation arc higher so that the technology concentrated companies need more developed and high performance technology. This paper reviews the methods of technology valuation for five categories that have been developed by valuation researchers, (1) research of technology diffusion and acceptance model, (2) research of technology valuation, (3) research of technology import and export factor, (4) research of technology valuation model, (5) research of technology transfer and market. And we propose a new technology valuation model using need(market), seed(technology) and deeds(management) factor by cross impact matrix. This model gives us the reference negotiation range for deciding the amount of royalty. I hope this paper induces more research on this field of technology valuation.
