  • Today, knowledge is considered the most strategically important resource. As research in knowledge management advances, it ought to review and categorize the already published literatures on knowledge management in the area of business strategy, accounting/finance, human resource management and management information technology. To identify the knowledge management research trend, we analyze 168 articles published in prominent academic journal during last two decades. This paper develops three stages model for knowledge management research: observation, initiation and evolution stage. Also, we classify the given researches according to the three criteria of contents, related academic area and applied research method.

  • This study is to compare the main subjects of domestic and foreign knowledge management research in terms of keywords and to clarify whether domestic knowledge management research reflects research trends in overseas knowledge management research. Specifically, we try to find out whether the central activities such as knowledge sharing, knowledge generation, and acquisition, which are knowledge management activities of knowledge management research, are being studied without bias. In order to analyze this, we analyzed the data of domestic and foreign knowledge management research for the last 5 years from 2012 to 2016. In Korea, the Knowledge Management Society of Korea collected 167 papers and 787 keywords, and collected 132 papers and 640 keywords from the Korea Society of Management Information Systems in order to distinguish the research areas. Overseas papers collected 315 papers and 1,746 keywords published by Emerald. Also, we collected 382 papers and 1,633 keywords in the Korean Management Review and collected 646 papers and 2,879 keywords in the Korean Business Education Review. Frequency analysis and network analysis of 1,642 papers and 7,685 keywords are summarized as follows. The Knowledge Management Society of Korea has focused on knowledge sharing, and in 2016, interest in knowledge transfer and knowledge search has shifted. The Journal of Knowledge Management, which is published by Emerald, has been a major concern for knowledge transfer and knowledge sharing. The research trends of the Korea Society of Management Information Systems to distinguish a clear identity of knowledge management research are focusing on smart area and mobile domain such as information security domain, cloud, smart phone, and smart work. In the Korea Society of Management Information Systems research, the main subject of knowledge sharing is also commonly found.

  • A research and management institution plays a middleman role between government departments and research institutes. Research records collected from research institutes are important not only as evidence for research tasks but also for knowledge and information sharing. In this study, the key research records collected by research management institutions are identified, and problems are analyzed to present efficient measures to improve key research management.

  • The Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) is a watershed management system that involves the establishment of the target water quality, the calculation of permission loading (allocation loading), and the control of total pollutants for each unit watershed. Allocation loading is assessed through the comprehensive implementation assessment of the previous year's plan. Assessment results are used for follow-up management measures such as the limit of development and updating of TMDL Management Implementation Plans for the next planning period. Although detailed assessment criteria are important, they are not currently available. Therefore, we suggested assessment criteria by comparing two methods('integration method' and 'separation method') using combination point and non-point discharge loading. We also examined the penalty criteria considering controllable load local government and updating methods of the TMDL Management Implementation Plan for the next planning period.

  • This study analyzed the government data quality management model, big data quality management model, and data lifecycle model for research data management, and analyzed the components common to each data quality management model. Those data quality management models are designed and proposed according to the lifecycle or based on the PDCA model according to the characteristics of target data, which is the object that performs quality management. And commonly, the components of planning, collection and construction, operation and utilization, and preservation and disposal are included. Based on this, the study proposed a process model for research data quality management, in particular, the research data quality management to be performed in a series of processes from collecting to servicing on a research data platform that provides services using research data as target data was discussed in the stages of planning, construction and operation, and utilization. This study has significance in providing knowledge based for research data quality management implementation methods.

  • In recent time, herbal information and products have been used to treat different sicknesses and diseases such as arthritis, insomnia, ulcer, diabetes, cough, fever, constipation and cardiovascular problems. Several researches conducted have given birth to the use of different herbal products (such as rosemary Lavenders, sage, curry leaf' Tea bush, Bitter leaf, Thyme, garlic, ginger, Ginseng and Aloe Vera) for medicinal and culinary purposes. Due to the ever increasing importance of herbal research information, there is need for adequate and proper management of herbal research information. This article examines the need for information management in herbal research, characteristics of herbal research information as well as the nexus of trends of information management in herbal research. It discusses and identifies the roles of libraries in the management of herbal research information. The paper also identifies some emerging ICT tools used for information management in herbal research. It concludes that apart from helping to preserve valuable information on herbal medicinal research, proper management of herbal research information also help to lpreserve the indigenous knowledge of the people from being lost as a result of factors such as acculturation and biodiversity. The paper recommends that government and information agencies should draw up strategy for proper management of herbal research information as this will enhance access to quality herbal information.

  • Research records are essential records to explain the accountability of research throughout the life cycle of a research project. Thus, they need to be properly managed, preserved, and shared. This study analyzed the effectiveness and ability of applying DMP to research records management. This study also suggested the RRMP (Research Records Management Plan) for the research records management and preservation in scientific research institutes. RRMP is considered as up-front planning for the research records management and preservation before any records are created.
