공학 분야의 윤리적 문제해결방법: 매트릭스 가이드 (Ethical Problem Solving in Engineering: Matrix Guide)

  • The core issue of ethical problem solving in engineering is to understand what exactly happened and to define its nature. Problems often arise mostly in morally complex situations. Traditional philosophical theories usually focus on extreme conflicts of interest and suggest moral theory-centered problem solving methods. However, these methods are not only difficult to specifically apply to real situations, but also are likely to fail to deal with actual moral issues in engineering fields. This study aims to develop more desirable ethical problem solving methods, based on STS (Science and Technology Studies) and engineering ethics combined. First, we have examined the engineering ethics with implications of an STS perspective, then have analyzed traditional ethical problem solving methods in a critical point of view. This study will suggest a new ethical problem solving method named Matrix Guide, based upon those analyses. Specifically, this study classifies four stages of problem definition, analysis, solving, and feedback. Here, we focus on how to combine technological and non-technological factors in each stage, when we are facing morally complex situations in engineering sectors.

  • 2000년대 중반 '참여, 공유, 개방'을 키워드로 하는 웹 2.0이 등장하여 하나의 사회 전반적인 문화코드로 자리잡아가고 있다. 수동적 참여자에서 능동적 사용자로의 변화를 핵심으로 하는 웹 2.0은 지금까지 진화하며 발전해나가고 있다. 하지만 진화과정에서 웹 2.0과 관련된 현실적 문제점 역시 지속적으로 나타나고 있으며, 본 연구는 이 가운데 사이버윤리성의 문제점에 초점을 두고자 한다. 사이버윤리성의 문제는 기술적 접근이나 법적 접근으로 해결하기에는 한계가 있으므로 본 연구는 사이버윤리성에 영향을 미치는 개인적 특성, 사회적 영향, 문화적 특성 등을 총체적으로 검토하고자 한다. 구체적으로 본 연구의 목적은 (1) 웹 2.0 환경에서 사용자의 개인적 특성(자기효능감, 자기통제)은 사이버윤리성에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가, (2) 웹 2.0의 사회적 영향요인인 주관적 규범이 사이버윤리성에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가, (3) 사용자의 사이버윤리성은 사용자의 웹 2.0 서비스 참여형태(조회, 생산)에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 가이다, 그리고 마지막으로 (4) 국가 간 문화적 차이에 따라 사회적 영향이 사이버윤리성에 미치는 효과는 어떻게 달라지는 가이다. 사용자의 개인적 특성, 사회적 영향요인, 사이버윤리성과 서비스 참여수준의 4가지 구성개념을 기반으로 연구모형이 제시되었으며, 이러한 연구모형은 한국과 미국에서 수집된 설문지를 기반으로 구조방정식 모형을 통해 검증되었다. 검증결과, 개인적 특성인 자기효능감과 자기통제력, 그리고 사회적 영향요인인 주관적 규범은 사이버윤리성에 유의한 영향을 미치며, 이후 생산적 참여활동에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다.

  • 이 연구의 목적은 사회정의 주제를 중심으로 수학과 도덕을 통합한 통합교수모델을 개발하고 통합교수모델을 적용한 수업이 학생들에게 주는 효과를 알아보는 것이다. 통합교수모델을 개발하기 위해 2015 개정 수학 교육과과 3~4학년군, 5~6학년군 수학 교과서, 2015 개정 도덕 교육과정에 대한 문헌 연구를 실시하여 수학과 도덕 교과에 사회정의 소재가 얼마나, 어떻게 반영되어 있는지를 알아보고자 하였다. 앞선 교과서 분석 결과를 바탕으로 수학과 도덕, 사회정의를 3개의 축으로 하여 융합모형 틀과 사회정의를 위한 수학과 도덕의 통합교수모델을 구안하였다. 통합교수모델의 효과를 확인하기 위하여 수학과 도덕의 통합수업이 학생들의 수학에 대한 정의적 측면과 사회적 의식, 창의적 사고력 및 비판적 사고력에 어떤 영향을 주는지 확인하였다.

Problems Related to the Act on Decisions on Life-Sustaining Treatment and Directions for Improvement

  • The Act on Decisions on Life-Sustaining Treatment has been in effect since 2018 for end-of-life patients. However, only 20~25% of deaths of terminally ill patients comply with the law, while the remaining 75~80% do not. There is significant confusion in how the law distinguishes between those in the terminal stage and those in the dying process. These 2 stages can be hard to distinguish, and they should be understood as a single unified "terminal stage." The number of medical institutions eligible for life-sustaining treatment decisions should be legally expanded to properly reflect patients' wishes. To prevent unnecessary suffering resulting from futile life-sustaining treatment, life-sustaining treatment decisions for terminal patients without the needed familial relationships should be permitted and made by hospital ethics committees. Adult patients should be permitted to assign a legal representative appointed in advance to represent them. Medical records can be substituted for a patient's judgment letter (No. 9) and an implementation letter (No. 13) for the decision to suspend life-sustaining treatment. Forms 1, 10, 11, and 12 should be combined into a single form. The purpose of the Life-sustaining Medical Decisions Act is to respect patients' right to self-determination and protect their best interests. Issues related to the act that have emerged in the 3 years since its implementation must be analyzed, and a plan should be devised to improve upon its shortcomings.

새로운 간호윤리학 방법론;통합된 사례방법론 (An integrated Method of New Casuistry and Specified Principlism as Nursing Ethics Methodology)

  • The purpose of the study was to introduce an integrated approach of new Casuistry and specified principlism in resolving ethical problems and studying nursing ethics. In studying clinical ethics and nursing ethics, there is no systematic research method. While nurses often experience ethical dilemmas in practice, much of previous research on nursing ethics has focused merely on describing the existing problems. In addition, ethists presented theoretical analysis and critics rather than providing the specific problems solving strategies. There is a need in clinical situations for an integrated method which can provide the objective description for existing problem situations as well as specific problem solving methods. We inherit two distinct ways of discussing ethical issues. One of these frames these issues in terms of principles, rules, and other general ideas; the other focuses on the specific features of particular kinds of moral cases. In the first way general ethical rules relate to specific moral cases in a theoretical manner, with universal rules serving as "axioms" from which particular moral judgments are deduced as theorems. In the seconds, this relation is frankly practical. with general moral rules serving as "maxims", which can be fully understood only in terms of the paradigmatic cases that define their meaning and force. Theoretical arguments are structured in ways that free them from any dependence on the circumstances of their presentation and ensure them a validity of a kind that is not affected by the practical context of use. In formal arguments particular conclusions are deduced from("entailed by") the initial axioms or universal principles that are the apex of the argument. So the truth or certainty that attaches to those axioms flows downward to the specific instances to be "proved". In the language of formal logic, the axioms are major premises, the facts that specify the present instance are minor premises, and the conclusion to be "proved" is deduced (follows necessarily) from the initial presises. Practical arguments, by contrast, involve a wider range of factors than formal deductions and are read with an eye to their occasion of use. Instead of aiming at strict entailments, they draw on the outcomes of previous experience, carrying over the procedures used to resolve earlier problems and reapply them in new problmatic situations. Practical arguments depend for their power on how closely the present circumstances resemble those of the earlier precedent cases for which this particular type of argument was originally devised. So. in practical arguments, the truths and certitudes established in the precedent cases pass sideways, so as to provide "resolutions" of later problems. In the language of rational analysis, the facts of the present case define the gounds on which any resolution must be based; the general considerations that carried wight in similar situations provide warrants that help settle future cases. So the resolution of any problem holds good presumptively; its strengh depends on the similarities between the present case and the prededents; and its soundness can be challenged (or rebutted) in situations that are recognized ans exceptional. Jonsen & Toulmin (1988), and Jonsen (1991) introduce New Casuistry as a practical method. The oxford English Dictionary defines casuistry quite accurately as "that part of ethics which resolves cases of conscience, applying the general rules of religion and morality to particular instances in which circumstances alter cases or in which there appears to be a conflict of duties." They modified the casuistry of the medieval ages to use in clinical situations which is characterized by "the typology of cases and the analogy as an inference method". A case is the unit of analysis. The structure of case was made with interaction of situation and moral rules. The situation is what surrounds or stands around. The moral rule is the essence of case. The analogy can be objective because "the grounds, the warrants, the theoretical backing, the modal qualifiers" are identified in the cases. The specified principlism was the method that Degrazia (1992) integrated the principlism and the specification introduced by Richardson (1990). In this method, the principle is specified by adding information about limitations of the scope and restricting the range of the principle. This should be substantive qualifications. The integrated method is an combination of the New Casuistry and the specified principlism. For example, the study was "Ethical problems experienced by nurses in the care of terminally ill patients"(Um, 1994). A semi-structured in-depth interview was conducted for fifteen nurses who mainly took care of terminally ill patients. The first stage, twenty one cases were identified as relevant to the topic, and then were classified to four types of problems. For instance, one of these types was the patient's refusal of care. The second stage, the ethical problems in the case were defined, and then the case was analyzed. This was to analyze the reasons, the ethical values, and the related ethical principles in the cases. Then the interpretation was synthetically done by integration of the result of analysis and the situation. The third stage was the ordering phase of the cases, which was done according to the result of the interpretation and the common principles in the cases. The first two stages describe the methodology of new casuistry, and the final stage was for the methodology of the specified principlism. The common principles were the principle of autonomy and the principle of caring. The principle of autonomy was specified; when competent patients refused care, nurse should discontinue the care to respect for the patients' decision. The principle of caring was also specified; when the competent patients refused care, nurses should continue to provide the care in spite of the patients' refusal to preserve their life. These specification may lead the opposite behavior, which emphasizes the importance of nurse's will and intentions to make their decision in the clinical situations.

  • 국내에서 서비스되고 있는 해외 애플리케이션의 수가 증가하고 있다. 이들 중 많은 국내 이용자의 수를 보유한 애플리케이션에서 이용자의 개인정보를 무단으로 수집하는 사례가 많이 발생하여 문제가 되고 있다. 애플리케이션을 통해 행해지는 개인정보 무단 수집은 이용자의 민감한 개인정보들이 악의적인 형태로 사용될 수 있어 위험성이 크다. 또한, 이는 사업자윤리에 위반되는 행위이고 건전한 IT 생태계 조성을 방해할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 국내에서 서비스되고 있는 해외 애플리케이션의 이용자 개인정보 무단 수집 실태를 분석하고, 이에 대한 대응 방안을 도출하는 것을 목적으로 한다.

  • Koreans who put a high value on confucian ethics traditionally have considered sex problems as taboo. Being faced with western liberal and hedonic culture that comes with waves of industrialization our younger generation who has grown in cultural backgrounds of confucianism has had mental confusion. Due to higher standards of living physical growth has quickened but mental growth has not reached there instead. Because of lureand trouble which come from this problem related with sex this is considered as a social problem. In this research through judgement which the most effective way that can solve adolescence sex problems is systematic sex education teaching method for desirable sex education is presented asfollowing First some supplement and desirable direction of sex education were proposed through the analysis of eight currently using home economics texbooks. A lesson plan was proposed using CAI program which was developed by authors with assistance of professional computer programmers. The CAI program includes following curriculum contents: 1concepts of sex This study ultimately aimed to let students develop desirable attitude and perspective on value regarding adolescence and sex, For this goal of research another lesson plan was proposed fostering classroom group discussion.

국내 한의학 관련 학술지 투고규정의 윤리기준 분석 (Analysis of Ethical Requirements for the Publication Guidelines of Oriental Medicine Journals in Korea)

  • This research aims to analyze the ethical requirements and to find the problems for the publication guidelines of oriental medicine journals. A total of 13 domestic journals, related to oriental medicine and registered in 'National Research Foundation of Korea' list, were selected for the analysis of ethical requirements. We inquired the revised year of the publication guideline and the status of ethics committee of selected journals. The ethical requirements of publication guidelines were evaluated by categorizing them into Institutional Review Board(IRB), Helsinki Declaration, Informed Consent, confidentiality and anonymity of subjects, and conflict of interest. In the case of revised year of the publication guidelines, the year of the most recently revised journal was 2011. However, the revised year of publication guidelines were not announced for three journals and a few journals haven't revised the publication guidelines since 2002. In the case of ethics committee status, four journals out of 13 journals maintained the ethics committee. In the result of ethical requirement analysis, nine journals included the information for confidentiality and anonymity of subjects, and four journals included the information for Helsinki Declaration and Informed Consent. However, only one journal included the information for IRB and conflict of interest. Recently, the importance of clinical researches has been increased to prove the effect of oriental medicine scientifically and objectively. The clinical researches should be considered in scientific side and ethical side as well, because they have potential risks to human subjects. In this sense, announcing the ethical requirements in the publication guidelines can be one way to secure the morality of researches. Thus, it is required to prepare correct publication guidelines and ethical requirements in oriental medicine journals.

무역학 교육과정에서 PBL(문제중심학습)의 기업윤리 수업 적용 사례연구 (Case study : Appication of PBL to Business Ethics Education in International Trade Curriculum)

  • 본 논문은 무역학의 주 연구대상인 수출기업 또는 다국적 기업이 필수적으로 고려해야 하는 기업의 사회적 책임과 윤리적 가치에 대한 문제를 학생들이 실제 경영에 적용할 수 있는 능력을 갖출 수 있도록 PBL 수업방식을 도입하여 운용한 사례를 제시하고 있다. 기업윤리 과목은 비계량적 영역인 기업과 기업내 사람, 시스템 및 제도 등을 통합적으로 고려해야 하여 다양성의 수준이 매우 높을 뿐만 아니라 특정한 분야의 지식만으로는 좋은 해결방안을 모색하기 어려운 특징을 가지고 있기에 PBL방식의 교수법을 도입하기에 적합한 환경을 구비하고 있다. 그 결과 학생들은 자기주도적으로 수업과 발표를 진행하고, 토론을 통해 다른 학생들의 의견을 듣고 공유하는 과정을 통해 견해를 넓힐 수 있었으며, 기업의 구체적활동에 개입된 판단기준 등에 대해 논리적으로 접근할 수 있게 되었다고 밝히고 있는 등 수업방식과 내용에 대해 긍정적인 평가를 내리고 있어 PBL수업방식이 기업윤리 수업에 효과적으로 적용되고 있음을 보여주고 있다.

치위생(학)과 학생들의 치위생윤리 교과목을 통한 치위생 윤리적 의사결정에 대한 자신감과 학습성과 평가 (Evaluation of the Confidence and Learning Effects of Dental Hygiene Ethical Decision-Making through Dental Hygiene Ethics Subjects)

  • 연구배경: 본 연구는 일부 대학에서 진행한 치위생 윤리 교과목을 통해 치위생(학)과 학생의 윤리적 의식과 윤리적 의사결정 역량을 달성할 수 있을지에 대한 학습성과를 평가하였다. 연구방법: 2021학년도와 2022학년도 1학기 G대학교 치위생학과 4학년 각각 35명, 29명과 D대학교 치위생과 3학년 각각 53명, 43명 총 160명을 대상으로 치위생윤리 교과목을 운영하여 수업운영 성과를 도덕적 민감성, 윤리적 의사결정을 할 때 자신감, 수업의 실제성, 학습성과, 수업만족도로 평가하였다. 각 평가항목은 Independent T-test와 Paired T-test를 하였으며, 통계적 유의수준은 0.05로 하였다. 연구결과: 양 대학 모두 수업 후 도덕적 민감성, 윤리적 의사결정을 할 때 자신감이 상승하였다(p<0.001). 치위생 윤리 교과목에 대한 수업의 실제성과 수업만족도는 학제 간 차이가 없었으며 4점 이상으로 긍정적으로 평가되었다(p>0.05). 학습성과는 4년제 학생들이 3년제 학생들보다 더 높게 나타났다(p<0.001). 결론: 치위생윤리 교과목을 통해 학생들의 도덕적 민감성과 치위생 윤리적 문제해결에 대한 자신감 등 윤리적 의사결정에 대한 역량을 강화할 수 있다고 평가되었다.
