루이스 바라간 주택공간에 나타난 빛과 건축공간요소의 상관적 표현 특성 (Characteristics of Relational Representation of Light and Architectural Space Elements in Luis Barragan's Houses)

  • Luis Barragan is a representative Mexican architect. He designed architectural space as a local architect in consideration of the Mexico's harsh Mediterranean climate. His manifestation of the regionality can be found mainly in his precise expression of light. Such method and concept of using light in Barragan's architecture made a huge impact on later architects but detailed studies on this issue have not been made actively. Hence, this paper intended to suggest a starting point or an orientation by illustrating the characteristics of using and expressing light in architecture through his cases of housing works. The study method was as follows. First, the general characteristics of light were identified by analyzing the elements of architectural space that dealt with light and the characteristics of expressing light shown in the architectural space. Second, the architectural background of Luis Barragan and the architectural space elements of the light expressed in his architectural space were extracted to form a hypothetical ground. Third, five of his works on the houses in his prime (after the year of 1945) were analyzed to explore the characteristics of relational representation between light and the architectural space elements in his architecture. Through this process, it was learned that, in his architectural works, light was the embodiment of the location-related, time-based, daily and illusionary experience into architecture. In addition, meditative light could be experienced by contrasting the soft and dispersed light and shadow of the inside space of Barragan's houses with the strong external light. Therefore, through the process above, this study is hoped to provide an opportunity for the contemporary architects of our era to rethink the fundamental correlation between architecture and light.

A CANONICAL REPRESENTATION FOR THE SOLUTION OF FUZZY LINEAR SYSTEM AND FUZZY LINEAR PROGRAMMING PROBLEM

  • In this paper first, we find a canonical symmetrical trapezoidal(triangular) for the solution of the fuzzy linear system $A\tilde{x}=\tilde{b}$, where the elements in A and $\tilde{b}$ are crisp and arbitrary fuzzy numbers, respectively. Then, a model for fuzzy linear programming problem with fuzzy variables (FLPFV), in which, the right hand side of constraints are arbitrary numbers, and coefficients of the objective function and constraint matrix are regarded as crisp numbers, is discussed. A numerical procedure for calculating a canonical symmetrical trapezoidal representation for the solution of fuzzy linear system and the optimal solution of FLPFV, (if there exist) is proposed. Several examples illustrate these ideas.

스플라인 곡면 모델링과 쉘 유한요소와의 연동 가시화 (Visualization of Integration of Surface Geometric Modeling and Shell Finite Element Based on B-Spline Representation)

  • In the present study, we visualize the linkage framework between geometric modeling and shell finite element based on B-spline representation. For the development of a consistent shell element, geometrically exact shell elements based on general curvilinear coordinates is provided. The NUBS(Non Uniform B-Spline) is used to generate the general free form shell surfaces. Employment of NUBS makes shell finite element handle the arbitrary geometry of the smooth shell surfaces. The proposed shell finite element .model linked with NUBS surface representation provides efficiency for the integrated design and analysis of shell surface structures. The linkage framework can potentially provide efficient integrated approach to the shape topological design optimizations for shell structures.

But there exist differences of thoughts between the orient and the occident. And they have dif-ferent thinking way of aestheticism and references of the value on the beauty. Not only beauty but the view through the mind as intuitional thought in which not only the rec-ognition of sense but also the rationalism and the naturalness play key role. The aesthetic sense in the orient contains both the truth and virtue. 2) The beauty of the mean It's from the thought of neutralization of Confucius. The mean or moderation state which in harmony with ethical virtue and aes-thetic beauty is the ideal and is the ultimate. Therefore the thought of Confucian is the creativity in which the balance and the har-mony is most important. Fashion design is also one of the representation of the mean because the spirit of the designer is harmonized for-mlessly with the object of the model of the fashion design. 2) The beauty of skillfulness It indicates the Taoism of Lao-tzu and Chuangtzu. It takes a super-artistic declar-ation that human can feel and recognize the color of colorlessness the sound of sound-lessness and the taste of tastelessness. The thought of arts affected by Taoism is 'ad-vanced age' called the beauty of skillfulness. The view of arts of lao-tzu takes the beauty of cosmos and the nature as a standard. Es-pecially the beauty of inactivity is recognized by the linkage between the beauty and the ugliness. And these things appear in fashion design as a design element such as humor or exaggeration. 3) The beauty of non-dualism It is thought of Buddhism that all evil passions of worry occur form the opposition in dualism. Finally this thought leads to that everything is consistent and truth is only one from the point of view that virtue and vice has on linkage that is 'no virtues no vices' and 'one with two, two, with one, one is not two' A big tendency like this became the root forma-tion of the thought of the oriental arts. 3. Characteristics of the oriental aesthetic sense on the present fashion design 1) The formation of the fashion design on the oriental elements In the picture-incantation which was a representation of an era when the thought of 'cosmic dual forces' dominated the basic polygons of 'a circle square triangle' means both 'one two three' and 'the negative positive mean' of cosmic elements. From this point of view the was of planner cutting in the Orient is dif-ferent from that of the Occidental which is in three-dimensional. The planner polygon type of the cut-pieces comes to have the meaning of the three-dimension when they consist of a suit that has the combination of each cut-piece. This shows the consistency with the principle of cosmos creation of Taoism that one is two two is three and three is every-thing. 2) The coloring and the symbolic represen-tation of the fashion design on the orien-tal elements The sense on the colors in the Orient from the thought of 'the cosmic dual forces and the five elements' is not the experi-enced from the knowledge but contains the consideration of philosophy Five-primary-color representing compass directions Blue(East) Red(South) Yellow(Center) White (West) and Black (North) is called ' the posi-tive' for this five-primary-color secondary-color which comes from the compound of the primary colors is called 'the negative' The thought of 'the cosmic dual forces and the five elements' is also an theory containing the natural order of the cos-mos and this shows the perceptional differ-ence that they are not conceptual but to be recognized and fell directly. A thought of Buddhism which is 'Colors are colorlessness and Clolorlessness are color's proves that. 3) The pattern and symbolic representation of the fashion design on the oriental elements The pattern as a visual style is a figure of symbolic representation which adopt the mental and physical world of human and are the compo-sition of artistic revelation of the human nature and the religous thought of incantation. Es-pecially the symbolic representation of the oriental thought of Confusion. Buddhism and Taoism There are patterns such as plants aminals the oriental four gods and geometry. From the above it's the time toward the 21'th century when the world is constructing one global area and one historical zone. And the exotic mood of the Orient represented in the fashion which doesn't make the common feeling in general does not cease to develop only to express the visual modeling but also adopts the thought religion and the art which are the root of the Orientail and contains inherent willing of modeling.

  • The main purpose of this paper is to identify the important parameters and to examine their relations to one another while gantry crane structure was modeled. The important elements of the structural analysis are included, such as the stiffness matrix and its relations to the degrees of freedom, the displacement, and frequency responses. To investigate these relations, the parametric modeling of a dynamic system is solved by using the finite element method (ANSYS-Program).   • In the representation of buildings with continuous changes in the curved shape of the surface, countless plans or sections are required, or none of the traditional drawings can explain the geometry of it. In other words, in no case can an ordinary drawing achieve the efficient and clear communication capability which is inherent function of the drawings. As a result, the current architects are introducing their own way of drawing technique which is developed in accordance with a specific curved shape, construction method or company resources, but this is not what can be applied to other cases because it has not been ever shared or agreed in the industry. In this process, the drawing or construction of curved building has been recognized as the exclusive property of a specific expert, or the design and construction without the in-depth understanding of the technology have resulted in the appearance of poor buildings. Therefore, this study aims to present an elements and method that can convey shape information more effectively and clearly in the drawing representation of non-linear buildings and, thus, contributes to lowering the barriers to entry into the field by providing the information to be easily applied to related projects. In order to attain this goal, the drawings of recently completed projects of free form building are analyzed to reveal the method used to effectively express the shape information of the building and to derive new drawing elements that have not been applied to the existing drawings.

  • 곱셈기의 효율성은 정규 기저(normal basis), 다항식 기저(polynomial basis), 쌍대 기저(dual basis), 여분 표현(redundant representation) 등과 같은 유한체 원소의 표현 방법에 주로 의존한다. 특히 여분 표현에서의 제곱 및 모듈로 감산(modular reduction)은 단순한 방법에 의해 효율적으로 수행될 수 있기 때문에, 여분 표현은 흥미로운 유한체 표현 방법이다. 본 논문은 여분 표현을 사용한 기약인 all-one 다항식에 의해 정의된 GF(Zm)에서의 효율적인 비트-병렬 곱셈기를 제안한다. 또한 제안된 비트-병렬 곱셈기의 효율성을 향상시키기 위해, Karatsuba에 의해 제안된 잘 알려진 곱셈 방법을 변형한다. 결과로써, 제안된 곱셈기는 all-one 다항식을 사용한 기존의 알려진 곱셈기들과 비교해 적은 공간 복잡도(space complexity)를 가지는 반면에, 제안된 곱셈기의 시간 복잡도(time complexity)는 기존의 곱셈기와 유사하다.

소통공간의 관점에서 고찰한 "움직임의 건축" - 자하 하디드의 설계이론과 작품 사례연구 - ("The Architecture of Movement" Considered in the Viewpoint of Communicative Space - A Case Study of Zaha Hadid's Design Theory and Practice -)

  • This study examines Dalibor Vesely's theoretical proposition of communicative space and tries to develop it through a review of the contemporary architectural case. Vesely poses a critical question about communication: how do the situational conditions of our everyday life and the spatial characteristics of the natural world in which we live communicate through representation. He emphasizes the spatial and situational conditions and the role of representation in communication, arguing that architecture should create the formation of communicative space to restore its primary role as the corporeal foundation of culture. This study thus focuses on one of the critical concepts of his theory: "the communicative movement," which is, according to him, ontological and situational because it animates and transforms human circumstances as a whole. Further, it pursues some practical knowledge of creating the communicative space, by examining the design theory and practice of Zaha Hadid, who thematizes communication and movement in her architectural approach. This study analyses the different levels of representation and modes of movement in her architectural space to reveal the possibilities and limits of its communicative roles. We will find that the representation of Hadid's architectural space is not the formal representation of reality, but a mathematical and projective representation of abstract concepts. Despite its apparent aesthetic consistency, the inward and self-referential relation between the individual elements of the architectural space reveals its limit for the communicative space.

  • 정보 표현의 기본 단위인 엘리먼트로 구성되는 XML 문서 내에서 동적으로 구조 변경이 이루어진다. 이때 XML 문서의 구조변경은 빠른 검색을 위해 기존의 색인 구조 정보의 변경 없이 효율적으로 처리되어야 한다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 XML 문서의 구조 변경 시 기존의 색인 구조에 효율적으로 수용될 수 있는 동적 색인 모델을 제안한다. 제안하는 동적 색인 모델은 다양한 구조 검색을 지원하기 위한 구조 정보 표현 방법과 효율적인 구조 검색을 지원하기 위한 동적 색인 구조로 구성된다. 제안하는 색인 기법이 기존의 동적 색인을 지원하는 기법보다 내용 색인, 구조 색인, 애트리뷰트 색인 측면에서 우수함을 성능 평가를 통해 보인다.

해외에 조성된 한국전통정원의 재현 특성 (Characteristics of Representing Korean Traditional Garden Style made in Foreign Countries)

  • 해외에 조성된 한국 전통조경의 특성과 디자인 성향을 파악하고자 해외에 설계, 시공되어진 대표적 한국성 정원 3개소를 선정하였다. 즉 프랑스 파리공원의 한국정원과 일본 오오사까의 쓰르미공원, 요꼬하마의 관자정 등이다. 이들 세 공간에 대해 한국고유의 디자인 원리와 image성, 경관구성요소 등의 한국성을 비교, 분석하였다. 그 결과 일본에 조성된 두 곳은 직설적 공간 재현을, 프랑스 파리공원은 직설과 은유적 공간 재현방법을 응용하여 전통을 재현 하고자 하였다. 도입된 시설 및 요소들은 정자, 꽃담, 다리 등의 전통 구조물과 조산(가산) 화계, 그리고 마당개념의 공간연출 등의 요소 및 기법이 공통적으로 응용되어 한국성 image를 표현하였다.
