Evaluation of Injection Property on the Crack Repair Method by Installing the Packer with Right Angle Drill Type in RC Structure

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the problem of crack repair materials and methods in existing concrete structure and to propose the effective injection method on crack repair by packer type. The result of this study is as follows. It is investigated that the crack width in the inner matrix of concrete structure is decreased about 30-40% than that in the surface of the concrete structure. Also it is showed that the possibility which could be monolithic with injection part became higher if the injection part is installed near to surface of concrete on the punching method to vertical direction against crack area. The injection of repair material can be poured smoothly under about $10N/mm^2$ pressure on the condition that cracks are monolithic with injection part without dust by drill. The method which is effective injection for a repair material is the punching method in compliance with coredrill. But, the research continuously is necessary about minimum injection pressure.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the problem of crack repair materials and methods in existing concrete structure and to propose the effective injection method on crack repair by packer type.   • In this study, the repair method using PVA fiber reinforced mortar evaluated on durability performance. Test items are compressive strength, flexural strength, carbonation, freezing-thawing. As for the test results, it was found that durability performance of the repair method using PVA fiber mortar showed more better than the existing repair method. Therefore, appling on the repair method using PVA fiber mortar, the repaired concrete structures can be increased to service life.

  • A method for repairing cracks using low-viscosity resins has been proposed as a construction method that can quickly repair roads from deterioration. However, when the viscosity of the epoxy resin is high, there is a limit in that it is difficult for the material to penetrate into microcracks and cracks in the concrete top plate. In this study, an epoxy thin-layer pavement repair method was developed using low-viscosity PMMA (Poly methyl methacrylate) to repair microcracks on the pavement surface and pavement layer and reinforce the pavement surface. Materials necessary for the thin-layer packaging method were developed, and performance was evaluated to meet the epoxy binder quality standards. As a result, all materials met the required performance.

  • The long-term repair program is significant as the execution standard for apartment in repair construction, and provides the basis for effective facility management through appropriation reserve and preventive maintenance. Considering its importance, the government legislates the items, cycle, and ratio for long-term repair. However, the frequent changes, controversies on repair, and difficulties in using appropriation reserve are caused as the items have not been revised on time reflecting up-to-date construction technologies. In order to resolve these problems, it is required to improve the standard by evaluating the appropriateness of repair items throughout the analysis of actual conditions. This study aims to suggest the revision plan for the criteria with the major items based on the status identified by the actual long-term repair programs and historical repair construction data. To do this, the adoption ratios of items to program are reviewed by collecting the real cases of the long-term repair programs. Developing improvement plan was approached in two ways such as "exclusion method" deleting minimum unnecessary items and "selection method" sorting out items with high adoption ratio and evidence of repair in a positive manner. Aa a result, the major items were identified as 118 items and 73 items by exclusion method and selection method respectively from the current 147 items. The outcomes of this study are expected to contribute enhancing the practicality of the standard in that the regulation for long-term repair program should periodically reflect the status of currently applied construction methods and materials.

  • Several methods for improving device yields and characteristics have been studied by IC manufacturers, as the options for programming components become diversified through the introduction of novel processes. Especially, the sequential repair steps on wafer level and package level are essentially required in DRAMs to improve the yield. Several repair methods for DRAMs are reviewed in this paper. They include the optical methods (laser-fuse, laser-antifuse) and the electrical methods (electrical-fuse, ONO-antifuse). Theses methods can also be categorized into the wafer-level(on wafer) and the package-level(post-package) repair methods. Although the wafer-level laser-fuse repair method is the most widely used up to now, the package-level antifuse repair method is becoming an essential auxiliary technique for its advantage in terms of cost and design efficiency. The advantages of the package-level antifuse method are discussed in this paper with the measured data of manufactured devices. With devices based on several processes, it was verified that the antifuse repair method can improve the net yield by more than 2%~3%. Finally, as an illustration of the usefulness of the package-level antifuse repair method, the repair method was applied to the replica delay circuit of DLL to get the decrease of clock skew from 55ps to 9ps.

New optimization method of patch shape to improve the effectiveness of cracked plates repair

  • An optimization method of patch shape was developed in this study, in order to improve repair of cracked plates. It aimed to minimize three objectives: stress intensity factor, patch volume and shear stresses in the adhesive film. The choice of these objectives ensures improving crack repair, gaining mass and enhancing the adhesion durability between the fractured plate and the composite patch. This was a multi-objective optimization combined with Finite elements calculations to find out the best distribution of patch height with respect to its width. The implementation of the method identified families of optimal shapes with specific geometric features around the crack tip and at the horizontal end of the patch. Considerable mass gain was achieved while improving the repair efficiency and keeping the adhesive shear stress at low levels.

Test of salt injury, carbonation, freezing-thawing, chemical attack, permeability was performed As for the test results, it was found that durability performance of the repair method using PVA fiber mortar showed more better than the existing repair method. Therefore, appling on the repair method using PVA fiber reinforced mortar, the repaired concrete structures can be increased to service life.

  • The need for maintenance of bridge infrastructure is increasing due to aging, and the cost of maintaining the infrastructure must be calculated for effective budget distribution. Therefore, in this study, representative defects according to bridge superstructure type are derived to calculate the cost for each repair method. First of all, the representative bridges, PSCI girder bridge, Rahmen bridge, Steel box girder bridge, and RC slab bridge, were selected as superstructures using BMS data, and repair methods for defects were presented. In addition, the cost of the repair method by superstructure type was compared. This result is expected to predict total maintenance costs in consideration of the maintenance cycle.

Therefore, observing electricity resistivity Survey change of dam since grouting reinforcement using Electric resistivity Survey inquiry of seismic survey method in this research, Wished to verify grouting effect whether is possible as Electric resistivity Survey, and study whether integrity of dam through repair reinforcement defined.
