  • Recently, the research of the distribution automatic system is increased. Distribution automatic system in local switchgear side usually consists of a switchgear controller and a feeder remote unit. A feeder remote unit (FRU) analyzes remote control order from the sudstation communication control unit(SCCU) located remote position using MODEM and delivers order to a switchgear controller. The each state of a switchgear is also delivered to a SCCU through a FRU. Switchgear controller operates switchgear directly and collects the each state of switchgear. In this system between a FRU and a switchgear controller, there are many functions which is included both of them. In this paper the combined switchgear controller which unified the conventional control functions of a FRU and a swichgear controller is proposed. The combined switchgear controller has many advantages excluding redundancy in system cost, space, control reliability and etc.

  • In this paper, a technique to expand the Input and Output (I/O) of the programmable logic controller (PLC) using remote I/O module is presented. The controller and the remote I/O module should have the same protocol and are interfaced through RS 485. Each remote I/O module consists of 16 digital input and 16 digital output, and the maximum of 32 remote I/O module can be linked to one controller. The remote I/O is programmed for interrupt request to controller independently. Therefore, there is no affect to the scan time of the controller. Using this technique, the PLC can be efficiently applied to the several hundred meters different control points such as the ON-OFF control fur the agriculture farm, the building automation system, a multi group of machine control.

인터넷을 통한 로봇의 원격 제어 (Remote Control of a Robot Through the Internet)

  • 본 논문에서는 웹브라우저를 이용하여 로봇을 원격 제어한다. 4대의 독립된 PC를 사용하여 자각의 기능을 분리하고 상호 연동하는 구조로 PC를 연결하였다. 조작자가 시간과 장소에 제약받지 않고 웹브라우저를 이용하여 제어값을 입력하면 제어값은 웹 서버를 거쳐 데이터베이스에 저장된다. 로봇과 연결된 PC는 데이터베이스에서 1ms 간격으로 제어값을 입력받아 제어값의 변화가 있을 경우만 제어값의 변화량으로 로봇이 동작한다. 스텝모터를 이용하여 간단한 로봇을 제작하고 이를 웹 브라우저를 이용하여 실제 동작시킨다. 조작자가 원하는 제어값이 최종 수신단의 로봇에 제대로 전달되어 동작하는지 확인하고 웹브라우저를 이용한 로봇제어의 가능성을 확인하였다

  • 이 논문에서는 기존 개발된 일체형의 통합 터미널 보드의 유선방식을 배제하고 무선방식으로 자동제어시스템에서의 중요 신호에 대한 전체적 통합관리시스템 구축을 위한 DCS 터미널 원격 감시 보드를 설계 제작하고 제작된 보드의 동작을 테스트하기 위해 원격감시 프로그램을 구현하여 기능을 평가한다. 구현된 원격감시보드는 전원관리실의 각 릴레이들의 동작상태 및 릴레이와 퓨즈의 이상 유무를 실시간으로 확인이 가능하며 릴레이의 수명을 고려하여 릴레이의 고장을 사전에 예방함으로써 산업분야의 경제적인 효과가 기대된다.

  • A remote data communication system for monitoring of NC machine fault diagnosis and status is developed. This system communicates with host PC by using dial-up communication method on PSTN. The developed system consists of (1)remote communication module among NC's and host PC using PSTN, (2) 8 channels analog data sensing module, (3) digital I/O module for control of NC machine, (4) communication module between NC machine and remote data communication system using RS-232c, and (5) Software man-machine interface. This system may be applied for remote sensing of the status in Fms. To show the veridity of the developed system, several examples are illustrated.

  • A remote maintenance system, which enables an engineer to check and treat machines installed at remote site with the help of data communication, has been developed. The maintenance of machines with the traveling of engineers is much costly in time and economically. With the developed system, the engineer at the remote site can diagnose malfunctioning machines. The remote maintenance system is composed of video conferencing system, camera control system and signal aquisition system. The developed system has been tested on the 100Mbps ATM network to evaluate its ability to diagnose remote machines.

  • This paper presents the design of a prototype robot and architecture of a distributed control system. The robot, named as KAEROT, has been developed for the purpose of the reduction of personal radiation exposure and the remote maintenance tasks in nuclear facilities. The mobile system with robotic manipulator has been designed to go up and down stairs. For the dextrous handling, this manipulator will be designed as a redundant type to act like a human arm. Manipulator control system is to be extended easily for further usage with a modular architecture to get independency and reliability by minimizing EMI effects.

  • In remote control of telerobotics equipment, the real-time visual feedback is necessary in order to facilitate real-time control. Because of the network congestion and the associated delays, the real-time image feedback is generally difficult in the public networks like internet. If the remote user is not able to receive the image feedback within a certain time, the work performance may tend to decrease, and it makes difficulties to control of the telerobotics equipment. In this paper, we propose an improved visual feedback scheme over the internet for telerobotics system. The size of a remote site image and its quality are adjusted for efficient transmission. The constructed system has a better real-time update characteristics, and shows a potential for the real-time visual control of the telerobotics system.

  • Because of advanced control technology, Shop floor control system of various kinds of equipment and machinery need a web based remote monitoring to control process efficiently. This paper presents the development of Operation Control System. Operation Control System(OCS) is based on intelligent web monitoring, so that OCS is improved the working condition for the line of heat treatment process and the product's quality. The developed OCS is consisted of Atmega128(MCU) based on embedded system, running the data logging of the line of heat treatment process. Web monitoring system is based on CS8900 ethernet controller and TCP/IP for remote monitoring responsibility between a server and clients and controlling the progress of entire system. The developed OCS is implemented on the line of heat treatment process and shows the improvement of environment condition, product's quality and efficiency of process line.

  • At present most mechanical design engineers use the techniques that perform shape modeling, force analysis and DMU(Digital Mok-Up). This kind of design methods shorten the time of manufacturing prototypes and have a merit that decreases development cost. But a hydrauric system has inconvenience that engineers have to modify, and complement whenever needed, because simulation-based approaches are not ubiquitous compared to the case of general mechanical parts. This paper presents a case study of efficient application to hydrauric system for designing VRCS(Valve Remote Control System) using a Hycdraulic system design and analysis software.
