Analyzing Students' Non-face-to-face Course Evaluation by Topic Modeling and Developing Deep Learning-based Classification Model (토픽 모델링 기반 비대면 강의평 분석 및 딥러닝 분류 모델 개발)

  • Due to the global pandemic caused by COVID-19 in 2020, there have been major changes in the education sites. Universities have fully introduced remote learning, which was considered as an auxiliary education, and non-face-to-face classes have become commonplace, and professors and students are making great efforts to adapt to the new educational environment. In order to improve the quality of non-face-to-face lectures amid these changes, it is necessary to study the factors affecting lecture satisfaction. Therefore, This paper presents a new methodology using big data to identify the factors affecting university lecture satisfaction changed before and after COVID-19. We use Topic Modeling method to analyze lecture reviews before and after COVID-19, and identify factors affecting lecture satisfaction. Through this, we suggest the direction for university education to move forward. In addition, we can identify the factors of satisfaction and dissatisfaction of lectures from multiangle by establishing a topic classification model with an F1-score of 0.84 based on KoBERT, a deep learning language model, and further contribute to continuous qualitative improvement of lecture satisfaction.

Factors Influencing Learning Immersion in College Remote Classes (대학생의 원격수업에서 학습몰입도에 미치는 영향요인)

  • Purpose: The study aimed to identify factors that affect college students' learning immersion in non-face-to-face remote classes. Methods: During COVID-19, a survey was conducted on 140 college students who were taking non-face-to-face remote courses at universities located in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, and Chungcheong-do, Korea. Data were analyzed using the Pearson correlation coefficients, Independent t-test, ANOVA, and Hierarchial stepwise multiple regression with SPSS (Windows version 27.0). Results: In the study, the most important variable influencing learning immersion was the student's self-efficacy, followed by instructor presence, class participation, lecture satisfaction, and credits. Conclusion: Instructors who teach major courses at college need to develop and apply ways to enhance learners' self-efficacy and class content that can boost learners' motivation in order to maximize learners' learning immersion. In order to facilitate learners' access to online media and maintain their interest in remote classes, passionate efforts need to be made by active instructors.

A Cyber Educational Environment on the Web using WMT (WMT를 이용한 웹 기반 가상교육 환경)

  • A long-distance education method using the computational environment has been developed and implemented for quite some time. However, there has been some difficulty in the simulation of face-to-face instruction due to limitations in performance of the computers and the networks. Continued development of multimedia technologies has now made it possible to simulate face-to-face instruction, recording the teachers' instructions in the form of a screen dump. In this paper, we propose a system that allows the teacher to make loaming materials available on the Web using Window Media Technology(WMT). This technology also allows remote site users to view the contents at their convenience. A media encoder acquires the lessons and stores them as moving pictures. The lessons are displayed on the screen as the teacher explains them. The learning materials are stored in a Windows media file format, the file is stored on a lecture server and provided to the user using a streaming method in real time. The users can view the contents on the Web without requiring a special player. The proposed system consists of a lecture writer module, a lecture server module and a lecture client module.

  • 본 논문에서는 Windows NT 기반아래 구현된 멀티미디어 원격강좌를 구현하였다. Windows NT와 SQL Server는 사용자 인증 및 자원관리를 담당하며, 원격강좌 내의 모든 자료는 널리 쓰이는 HWP 형식자료를 활용할 수 있으며, 문서자료에 음성 및 동영상, URL 링크 등을 지원하는 PDF 형식으로 제공된다. 구현된 원경강좌를 활용한 운영결과와 향후 과제 등이 논의되었다.

  • 본 논문은 학습자의 네트워크 환경에 따라서 전송속도를 선택하여 학습할 수 있는 원격강의 시스템을 설계하였다. Windows Media의 스트리밍 대역폭을 300k, 80K, 22K로 제공함으로서 학습자의 네트워크 환경을 고려하였다. 본 시스템은 시간과 공간을 극복한 가상강의에서 학습자의 네트워크 환경을 고려함으로써 재수강의 용이성에 초점을 두고 설계하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 인터넷으로 한자 학습을 하고자 하는 이들이 학습을 좀 더 재미있게 하기 위하여 Edutainment식 한자 학습을 제안하고 있다. Edutainment식 한자 학습은 한자의 변천과정을 이용한 한자 학습, 게임을 이용한 한자 학습, 애니메이션을 이용한 한자 학습, 한자-한글 상호변환을 이용한 한자 학습 네 가지로 구성되어있다. Edutainment식 한자 학습의 결과는 설문을 이용하여 평가하였으며 평가 결과는 흥미도나 학습도 동기 유발 둥에서 Edutainment식 한자 학습이 학습자의 흥미를 유발하여 효과를 좀 더 높게 얻는 것으로 평가되었다.

An Implementation of Web-based Stepwise Learning System for the Mathematical Problems

  • This study is designed to use the stepwise learning system for solving learner-oriented problem on the Web, which can help learners probe studying targets and contents of mathematics as well as search for a study-related materials. The study provides a Web-based Courseware design model based on the general multimedia systematic professor design model. It develops a program for remote lecture that can solve problems through interaction among a professor and the other learners. It also implements a remote teaming system for real-time environment of mathematical problems oriented by the learner. The system designed either as a Web-based mathematical Courseware or as a text mode has the purpose of providing a Web-based stepwise learning system for solving mathematical problems oriented by the learner.

  • In this paper, we propose sharing 3D media between multisite using enhanced Access Grid (e-AG) which is a composition of 3D display and Access Grld (AG) Conventional AG and other collaborative systems have a limitation to share immersive 3D media Thus, proposed system supports sharing 3D media contents in a AG meeting section. Real object can be shared by acquiring stereo image with pre-calibrated stereo camera and by delivering, and virtual object can be shared by transmitting state information after downloading 3D model. And also, real video scene acquired by stereo camera and virtual object from 3D model can be displayed on the 3D display system of each node adaptively. The characteristics of proposed sharing method are sharing 3D media, displaying 3D media on a system adaptively, supporting real-time interaction. The proposed sharing method will be used remote lecture, remote collaboration with 3D media.

  • 본 연구에서는 원격강좌(콘텐츠 기반)를 이용하여 학습하는 학습자들의 학습 형태를 분석하여 효율적인 원격강좌 운영을 위한 제도 마련에 대한 필요성을 제시하고자 하였다. 학습자들이 원격강좌를 학습한 정규교과 1년의 데이터를 가지고 분석한 결과 학습자들은 오후8시부터 자정까지 학습하는 빈도가 가장 높았다. 이는 교과 구분 형태인 전공/교양 모두에서 나타나는 분석결과였다. 또한 요일별로 분석해 보면 특정 요일에 학습의 빈도가 높았는데 이 요일은 한 주간의 강의가 종료되는 요일이었다. 이러한 분석 결과를 기반으로 효율적인 원격강좌가 운영되기 위한 제도적 보완 - 원격강좌별로 종료되는 요일을 달리한다든지 -을 생각해 볼 필요가 있다 하겠다.

  • One of the most significant characteristics of remote real time lecture, the emerging still image standard, is the OOI (Object of Interest) coding. The functionality of OOI is important in applications where certain parts of the image are more important than others. In such cases, these objects need to be encoded at higher quality than the background. JPEG2000 provides a number of OOI coding mechanisms. Many researchers have actively studied the preferred processing from the OOI coding methods to the new methods complementing them. But, there do not exist OOI coding methods suitable for all applications. Therefore, this study shows a criterion to select according to the application requirements for applying the best OOI coding method in JPEG2000 applications, and also shows the experimental results deciding the best parameters in the selected methods.
