  • The Remote controlled air conditioner is to effectively suppress the peak load generated from air conditioners in summer. It is important that remote controlled air conditioners are operated well in the real field. Almost 3,200 remote controlled air conditioners has been distributed as of the end of June, 2001. This paper describes a development of the certification system for the air conditioners.

  • Continuing advance in computers and MIDI devices has accelerated research on the computerized music technology, Realization of high speed computer communication networks facilitated on-line computer music systems, which needs to send a volume of multimedia data. This paper presents the design and implementation of the Remote Concert Education System which helps users practice ensemble without gathering in a room. The system maintains the music database, identifies tones and measures of the melody played with different instruments, check the correctness on-line, and finally provides the analysed results of the ensemble. The developed system can be used as a supporting system for music education if high speed communication network is available.

  • 인터넷을 통한 웹 기반 교수-학습 시스템은 상호작용 증진을 통한 학습자 위주의 교육환경으로 지속적인 변화를 지향해 왔다. 그 결과 학습자는 시간과 공간의 제약에서 벗어나 다양한 교육정보를 접할 수 있는 기회를 가질 수 있게 되었다. 결과적으로 인터넷의 발달은 교육환경의 변화를 가져왔다. 인터넷을 통한 웹 기반 원격교육은 이제 교육의 여러 분야에 폭넓게 적용되고 있다. 사실, 인터넷을 통한 원격교육은 이제 새로운 교육패러다임으로 자리를 잡았다. 본 논문에서는 교사를 대상으로 하는 원격 교육 시스템에 한정하여 시스템 개발에서 운영에 이르기까지의 모든 과정에 대한 경제적, 교육적 효율성 확보를 목적으로 하였다. 따라서 시스템 개발에서는 주요 모듈의 컴포넌트화를 시도하여 재사용성 증대를 통한 설계 기간 및 비용의 감소를 이끌어 내어 개발의 효율성을 높이고, 구성주의 원리를 교육학적 기반으로 함으로써 교육의 효율성을 최대로 끌어올릴 수 있도록 설계하였다.

  • The telemedicine & distance education system that this paper suggests has been designed on the CTE(Collaborative Telemedicine & distance Education) framework, which is an integrated multimedia environment. This is a CBM-based collaborative telemedicine & distance education type, different from the conventional doctor based general practice, and is an integrated multimedia telemedicine & distance education system capable of many application developments using information super highway. This paper presents the content regarding electronic medical examination chart and data treatment for efficient medical examination and prompt treatment by realizing mutual conversation type remote medical examination system among 3 parties(patient, doctor, pharmacist) on internet base. And, The implementation of this new teaming system should be designed with multimedia application development platform base which is interfaced with computer engineering, computer network technology, CSCW (Computer-Supported Cooperative Work) technology, and education engineering.

  • Recent advances in Internet-of-Things and wearable computing have established computationally sufficient infrastructure to remove the barriers of physical locations. The recent COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the use of remote collaboration, work-from-home, teleconferencing, online education, digital twin, and metaverse enriched with various configurations of augmented reality, virtual reality, mixed reality, and extended reality. Beyond specialized niche wearable applications in the medical and entertainment domains, we aim to identify the underlying characteristics of smartglass-enabled killer applications for everyday use. In this paper, we analyze intermediary roles in remote collaboration consisting of authoritative supervisors, synergetic collaborators, and speculative explorers. We also propose technical components for smartglass-assisted interactive remote collaboration composed of personal tracking, teleconference, and interaction components. More specifically, the application tasks of each intermediary role and objectives of three functional components are defined and elaborated.

  • 시각장애인은 움직임에 대한 제한으로 상대적으로 교육의 공평한 기회가 제공되고 있지 못한다. 본 논문에서는 시각장애인들이 정보격차 해소는 물론 웹 접근에 관한 연구와 시각장애인들의 정보습득 방법에 대한 선호도를 분석 조사하고 분석한다. 이 자료를 통해 시각장애인을 대상으로 한 초고속통신망에서 인터넷 웹서비스를 이용한 교육지원서비스 시스템을 설계하고, 분석하고, 실시간으로 교육 정보를 주고받을 수 있는 커뮤니티 프로그램을 개발하여, 원격에서 재택 교육지원시스템 활성화 방안을 제시하여 시각장애인의 교육지원 정보 접근서비스에 기여하고자 한다.

인터넷기반의 원격 계측 실험실 구축에 관한 연구 (Development of Remote Experimental Laboratory Based on Internet)

  • 본 논문은 인터넷을 이용한 공학 교육의 효과를 높이기 위한 수단으로서 원격 계측 실험실의 구축에 대하여 연구한 결과를 포함하고 있다. 최근에 멀티미디어를 이용한 가상 실험 실습실의 축이 가시화되고 있으나 실제 시스템을 대상으로 한 인터넷 실험 실습실은 널리 보급되고 있지 않다. 본 논문에서는 실험실 자동화를 위하여 사용된 GPIB제어 기술과 인터넷 연결 기술을 결합하여 원격으로 실험 실습이 가능한 시스템을 구축하였다. 함수발생기, LCR미터, 오실로스코우프에 대한 제어 프로그램을 구축하고 몇 가지 전자 회로를 대상으로 실험을 수행해 본 결과 다양한 종류의 실험을 원격으로 수행할 수 있으며 교육 효과 또한 매우 높음을 발견할 수 있었다. 본 연구에서는 원격 계측 실험실 구축과 관련된 기술을 소개하고 문제점을 토의하고자 한다.

  • Experiments in electrical engineering should mirror the key components of successful research and development: Understand the basic theory needed, test the resulting concepts by simulation and verify these, finally, in the experiment. For optimal learning outcome continuous monitoring of the progress of each individual student is necessary, immediately repeating those subjects which have not been learned successfully. Classically, this is the task of the teacher. In case of remote-controlled experiments this monitoring process and the repetition of subjects should be automated for optimal learning outcome. This paper describes a remote-controlled experiment combining theory, simulation and the experiment itself with an automated monitoring process. Only the evaluation of the experimental results and their comparison to the simulation results has to be checked by a teacher. This paper describes the details of the educational structure for a remote-controlled experiment introducing active filtering of harmonics. For better understanding the content of the learning material (theory and simulation) as well as the results of the experiment and the underlying booking system are shortly presented.

사이클로이드 감속기의 성능평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Performance Evaluation of Cycloid Reducer)

  • In this paper, a study on the performance evaluation of a cycloid reducer for remote weapons systems is presented. Reduction gears applied to remote weapons vehicles need to be compact and capable of large torque transmissions as well as require structural optimization, high load capacity, and high precision position control. To meet these requirements, a cycloid reducer with low backlash, high precision, high overload capability, high rigidity, and high efficiency is required. Thus, a cycloid reducer with a reduction ratio of 127:1, backlash of 1 arcmin (1/60 deg) or less, and reduction gear efficiency of 70% or more, which are the design requirements for a remote weapons system, was designed utilizing a design and analysis program (HEXAGON) for gear engineering. To confirm the performance of the cycloid reducer, the hardness of the main components of the manufactured cycloid reducer, reduction ratio, and efficiency were measured.
