Design and Implementation Smart Office System Based on Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) (원격 데스크톱 프로토콜(RDP) 기반의 스마트 오피스 시스템 설계 및 구현)

  • For smart work (smart office), RDP(Remote Desktop Protocol) connection is the most popular method. When the office workers do not have personal space, smart office is very useful. That is, they can connect personal computer using Internet at cafe or public spaces. Using the smart office, it is possible to make personal business environment to increase business efficiency. In this paper, we designed and implemented smart office using RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol). We expected that the office workers can be used smart office for business efficiency.

  • The Growth in wireless Internet has made Networking possible at anytime and anywhere so that application program development is vigorous for mobile service implementation. In particular, mobile service has a feature that can present flexible service at anytime, and anywhere. This study proposes a system which is able to make a remote control of computer by means of mobile as an example of the production of application for such mobile service. This paper researches a RDP(Remote Desktop Protocol), VNC(Virtual Network Computing) system that control screen of remote computer and input devices by using smart-phone. The advantage of this system is the function that turning on and off the computer, file transfer, file upload/download, and paperwork. Therefore users are expected to use more conveniently.

VDI deployment and performance analysys for multi-core-based applications (멀티코어 기반 어플리케이션 운용을 위한 데스크탑 가상화 구성 및 성능 분석)

  • Recently, as Virtual Desktop Infrastructure(VDI) is widely used not only in office work environments but also in workloads that use high-spec multi-core-based applications, the requirements for real-time and stability of VDI are increasing. Accordingly, the display protocol used for remote access in VDI and performance optimization of virtual machines have also become more important. In this paper, we propose two ways to configure desktop virtualization for multi-core-based application operation. First, we propose a codec configuration of a display protocol with optimal performance in a high load situation due to multi-processing. Second, we propose a virtual CPU scheduling optimization method to reduce scheduling delay in case of CPU contention between virtual machines. As a result of the test, it was confirmed that the H.264 codec of Blast Extreme showed the best and stable frame, and the scheduling performance of the virtual CPU was improved through scheduling optimization.

  • Due to the prolonged infectious disease of COVID-19 worldwide, there are various security threats due to network attacks on Internet of Things devices that are vulnerable to telecommuting. Initially, users of Internet of Things devices were exploited for vulnerabilities in Remote Desktop Protocol, spear phishing and APT attacks. Since then, the technology of network attacks has gradually evolved, exploiting the simple service discovery protocol of Internet of Things devices, and DRDoS attacks have continued to increase. Existing SSDPs are accessible to unauthorized devices on the network, resulting in problems with information disclosure and amplification attacks on SSDP servers. To compensate for the problem with the authentication procedure of existing SSDPs, we propose a hash-based SSDP that encrypts server-specific information with hash and adds authentication fields to both Notify and M-Search message packets to determine whether an authorized IoT device is present.

  • 스마트폰과 같은 모바일 단말은 모바일 클라우드의 서비스를 받기 위해 모바일 가상머신에 원격접속 할 수 있는 기술이 필요하다. 원격접속 표준 프로토콜은 프레임 버퍼 방식의 Remote Frame Buffer(RFB) 프로토콜과 메시지 전송방식의 Remote Desktop Protocol(RDP)로 나뉜다. SPICE 프로토콜은 RDP 프로토콜 기반의 오픈소스 원격접속 프로토콜이다. SPICE 프로토콜은 가상머신에 원격접속 할 수 있지만 모바일 환경을 지원하지 않는다. 따라서 SPICE 프로토콜을 모바일 환경에서 사용하려면 포팅 작업이 필요하다. 본 논문은 리눅스용 SPICE 클라이언트 모듈을 안드로이드 환경에 맞도록 포팅하는 방법을 소개하고자 한다. 또한 포팅시 발생하는 문제점과 이를 해결하는 방법 몇 가지를 함께 소개한다.

  • VNC(Virtual Network Computing) is a desktop sharing system based on the RFB(Remote Framebuffer) protocol which allows you to control a remote computer running a VNC server through a VNC client(or viewer) on a local computer. To exchange information between the two computers, VNC provides the functionality of sharing the clipboard contents. Unfortunately, the current VNC softwares support only the clipboard text contents, not providing methods for sharing the clipboard multimedia contents such as images. In this paper, we extend the RFB protocol to share the clipboard contents composed of text and images. Also, to support the developed protocol. we extend both the UltraVNC server and the JavaViewer VNC client which are free open-source softwares. Through the developed VNC softwares, users can exchange the clipboard contents including texts and images between the remote computer and the local computer.

RDP-based Lateral Movement Detection using PageRank and Interpretable System using SHAP (PageRank 특징을 활용한 RDP기반 내부전파경로 탐지 및 SHAP를 이용한 설명가능한 시스템)

  • As the Internet developed, various and complex cyber attacks began to emerge. Various detection systems were used outside the network to defend against attacks, but systems and studies to detect attackers inside were remarkably rare, causing great problems because they could not detect attackers inside. To solve this problem, studies on the lateral movement detection system that tracks and detects the attacker's movements have begun to emerge. Especially, the method of using the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) is simple but shows very good results. Nevertheless, previous studies did not consider the effects and relationships of each logon host itself, and the features presented also provided very low results in some models. There was also a problem that the model could not explain why it predicts that way, which resulted in reliability and robustness problems of the model. To address this problem, this study proposes an interpretable RDP-based lateral movement detection system using page rank algorithm and SHAP(Shapley Additive Explanations). Using page rank algorithms and various statistical techniques, we create features that can be used in various models and we provide explanations for model prediction using SHAP. In this study, we generated features that show higher performance in most models than previous studies and explained them using SHAP.

A study on a security model for the establishment of a non-face-to-face smart work working environment in a physical network separation environment of public institutions (공공기관 물리적 망분리 환경에서의 비대면 스마트워크 근무 환경구축을 위한 보안 모델 연구)

  • Due to the recent COVID 19 pandemic, public institutions are increasingly working from home. Working in public institutions is rapidly changing into a smart work environment where time and space constraints disappear. However, many public institutions currently lack a security model for an efficient smart work environment due to the physical network separation system that separates the Internet network and the business network. Therefore, in this paper, we describe the current limitations for implementing smart work in a physical network separation environment of public institutions, and propose a security model necessary for a work environment to supplement them. As a related study, explain SSL VPN and explain smart work business model through security model research of SDP (Software Defined Perimeter), RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol), and VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) to overcome the security limitations of SSL VPN. As a result, we intend to propose a security model for a smart work environment suitable for public institutions while complying with the physical network separation security guide.

  • u-러닝시스템의 개발과 활용은 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경의 발달에 따른 미래교실에서의 교육 및 학습 환경을 실현하기 위한 기술적 노력을 의미한다. 본 연구에서 다루고자 하는 u-러닝시스템이 높은 수준의 유비쿼터스 학습을 구현하기 위해서는 학교에서 뿐만 아니라 가정에서도 학습할 수 있는 u-러닝환경을 구축할 수 있어야 하는데, 현재 u-러닝 시스템 구축을 통한 미래교육 연구는 광범위한 관심과 보급에도 불구하고 u-러닝시스템 활성화의 한계를 도출하고 있다. 즉, 현재 다양한 플랫폼 하에서 운영되고 있는 모바일 기기 환경에서 기존의 콘텐츠를 활용하기 위해서는 여전히 u-러닝 지원을 위한 단말기의 안정성이 떨어질 뿐만 아니라 u-러닝을 안정적으로 지원하는 기반 시스템이 적절하게 개발 보급되지 못하고 있는 실정이며 사용자의 편의성이 떨어져 u-러닝 환경에 적합하지 못한 경우가 많다. 따라서 본 연구는 이와같은 u-러닝시스템의 기반기술 구축에 필수적인 기술적 요소를 보완하기 위하여 오픈소스를 포함한 다양한 운영체제의 환경에서 윈도우 운영체제 기반 애플리케이션 사용이 가능한 Remote Desktop Protocol을 통한 가상화 기술을 구현하여 u-러닝시스템의 컴퓨팅 성능을 보다 효율적으로 증대시킬 수 있는 네트워크 시스템을 구현하고 타 시스템과의 성능평가를 수행한다.

Design and Implementation of a Network Computing System for Diskless Client PCs (하드디스크 없는 클라이언트 PC를 위한 네트워크 컴퓨팅 시스템의 설계 및 구현)

  • With fully harnessing the functions provided by Windows NT, we suggest the generating method of RPL profile and the RPL protocol for remote booting on DL-NCS(Network Computing System for Diskless client PCs). This system can offer clients, without having hard disk, boot remotely Window 9x stored in server's hard disk and can share peripheral devices and application programs in the server side. For booting Window 9x from DL-NCS, twenty-five clients' PCs were set for simultaneous on and finally the PCs were booted in similar time interval compared to that from a desktop PC having local disk. This system was also experimented to the application programs. And this system can yield excellent networking environments. In sum, with using this DL-NCS, we can reduce the installing costs of peripheral device, recycle the lower grade PCs such as 486SX/DX, and save the budgets for software purchase.
