  • Purpose: This study was conducted to analyze and clarify the meaning of the concept for relocation stress -focusing on patients transferred from an intensive care unit to a general ward. Methods: This study used Walker and Avant's process of concept analysis. Results: Relocation stress can be defined by these attributes as follows: 1) involuntary decision about relocation, 2) moving from a familiar and safe environment to an unfamiliar one, 3) broken relationship of safety and familiarity, 4) physiological and psychosocial change after relocation. The antecedents of relocation stress consisted of these facts: 1) preparation degrees of transfer from the intensive care unit to a general ward, 2) pertinence of the information related to the transfer process, 3) change of major caregivers, 4) change in numbers of monitoring devices, 5) change in the level of self-care. There are consequences occurring as a result of relocation stress: 1) decrease in patients' quality of life, 2) decrease in coping capacity, 3) loss of control. Conclusion: Relocation stress is a core concept in intensive nursing care. Using this concept will contribute to continuity of intensive nursing care.

  • During the core disruptive accident (CDA) of sodium-cooled fast reactor (SFR), the molten fuel and steel are solidified into debris particles, which form debris bed in the lower plenum. When the boiling occurs inside debris bed, the flow of coolant and vapor makes the debris particles relocated and the bed flattened, which called debris bed relocation. Because the thickness of debris bed has great influence on the cooling ability of fuel debris in low plenum, it's very necessary to evaluate the transient changes of the shape and thickness in relocation behavior for CDA simulation analysis. To simulate relocation behavior, a large number of debris bed relocation experiments were carried out by improved bottom gas-injection experimental method in this paper. The effects of different experimental factors on the relocation process were studied from the experiments. The experimental data were also used to further evaluate a semi-empirical onset model for predicting relocation.

  • The Purpose of this study was to identify the effects of the elderly Koreans of residential relocation and to find their conditioning variables that mediate some of the negative effects of residential relocation. The research was performed by questionnares. Subject samples consisted of 448 elderly individuals who have lived for two years or less in one of the two new residential communities in commuting proximity with Seoul: Ilsan or Bundang. Two variables measured for the life of the elderly to residential relocation were the change of the social relationship network and the change of the depression level. Results indicated that the relocation had a substantial disrupting effect on the social network of the elderly. The level of depression of the subjects after relocation was decresed. It was also found that the effects of the elderly to residential relocation was mainly affected by physical factors of environment and residential satisfaction.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to identify the effects of education, using a relocation information guidebook, on the family caregivers of patients who were scheduled to be transferred from a neurosurgical intensive care unit to a general ward. Methods: They were divided into two groups: an experimental group (n = 21) and a control group (n = 20). A relocation information guidebook was created based on a literature review and an interview with five family caregivers about how to satisfy their needs. The collected data were analyzed with a ${\chi}^2$ test, Fisher's exact test, paired t-test, and t-test. Results: The effect of education, using the relocation information guidebook, on the family caregivers of patients who were relocated to a general ward from the neurosurgical intensive care unit was not significant for relocation stress (t = 0.94p, = .352) or anxiety (t = 1.25, p = .217), but was significant for education satisfaction (t = -2.50, p = .017). Conclusion: There were no differences in relocation stress and anxiety scores between the control and experimental groups. However, several methodological issues were highlighted that must be considered in future research, including the timing and measurement of transfer anxiety, and the intervention itself.

  • Purpose: Geographical relocation has been conducted to alleviate overcrowding and to support balanced regional development in many countries. Previous studies have seldom examined the effectiveness of relocation on job and life dissatisfaction, particularly in the public sector. The purpose of this study is to investigate the determinants of relocation on job and life dissatisfaction. Proposed research questions include the following: i) do working conditions in the new workplace and interactivity affect job dissatisfaction? ii) do social infrastructure and social activity in the new location affect life dissatisfaction? and iii) is there a relationship between job and life dissatisfaction? Research Design, data, and methodology: The study collected data via an online survey and applied statistical analyses such as factor analysis, regression, and ANOVA. Results: The results of this study found that proposed determinants excluding mobility inefficiency and decision-making affect job and life dissatisfaction. The results also showed that there are relationships between job and life dissatisfaction. Conclusions: The results of this study provide both managerial and policy implications of relocation for the public sector. The results of this study implied that better policy should be designed to increase job and life satisfaction that also accounts for the realities of relocation.

  • When a boundary dispute occurs between landowners of adjoining lands, a court deals with a boundary violation on the basis of cadastral register. Boundary relocation surveying is one which reconstructs a boundary in cadastral register on actual land. Boundary relocation surveying includes most of surveyings related with the civil case such as restoration of land and demolition of building and a surveying result affects a ruling critically. However, boundary relocation surveying depends on surveying technician's knowledge and experiences and can lead to different surveying results. This study reviews legal principles of boundary relocation surveying by analyzing law practice of boundary relocation surveying which is used for solving a boundary dispute between landowners of adjoining lands and by examining related laws and Supreme Court precedents. The study seeks to contribute to consistent and reliable results of surveying by leading surveying technician to carry out a boundary relocation surveying on the basis of judicial doctrines.

  • Background: Infection by multidrug-resistant (MDR) pathogens leads to poor patient outcomes in intensive care units (ICUs). Contact precautions are necessary to reduce the transmission of MDR pathogens. However, the importance of the surrounding environment is not well known. We studied the effects of ICU relocation on MDR respiratory pathogen detection rates and patient outcomes. Methods: Patients admitted to the ICU before and after the relocation were retrospectively analyzed. Baseline patient characteristics, types of respiratory pathogens detected, antibiotics used, and patient outcomes were measured. Results: A total of 463 adult patients admitted to the ICU, 4 months before and after the relocation, were included. Of them, 234 were admitted to the ICU before the relocation and 229 afterward. Baseline characteristics, including age, sex, and underlying comorbidities, did not differ between the two groups. After the relocation, the incidence rate of MDR respiratory pathogen detection decreased from 90.0 to 68.8 cases per 1,000 patient-days, but that difference was statistically insignificant. The use of colistin was significantly reduced from 53.5 days (95% confidence interval [CI], 20.3 to 86.7 days) to 18.7 days (95% CI, 5.6 to 31.7 days). Furthermore, the duration of hospital stay was significantly reduced from a median of 29 days (interquartile range [IQR], 14 to 50 days) to 21 days (IQR, 11 to 39 days). Conclusions: Incidence rates of MDR respiratory pathogen detection were not significantly different before and after ICU relocation. However, ICU relocation could be helpful in reducing the use of antibiotics against MDR pathogens and improving patient outcomes.

  • Mobility in housing is a normative way to satisfy family needs for· better· living conditions. In the context of relative decisions. mobility can be understood as forced relocation or unforced relocation In making relocation. the household chooses a particular 'environmental quality profile. Therefore. the understanding of mobility and relocation in housing is needed for· the developing and planning of housing evnironment. The major findings are s follows ;1. The motives of mobility are composed of 4 factors('material porseperity’, 'convenience· safety'. environmental improvement' and 'forced relocation'). Especially, 'material prosperity' was defined the most fundamental factor· for. 2. The components of housing environment quality were composed of 3 factors related to the scale of home environment. They were 'neighborhood character factor', 'dwelling character· factor·'. And 'location character· factor'. The factor 'neighborhood character' was defined the basic factor· to choose for the housing environmental quality profile.3. It was examined that the motives of mobility and the components of home environmental quality were significantly different by the household characteristics (income. family life cycle. and tenure type).

  • Bicycle- or bike-sharing systems (BSSs) have received increasing attention as a secondary transportation mode due to their advantages, for example, accessibility, prevention of air pollution, and health promotion. However, in BSSs, due to bias in bike demands, the bike rebalancing problem should be solved. Various methods have been proposed to solve this problem; however, it is difficult to apply such methods to small cities because bike demand is sparse, and there are many practical issues to solve. Thus, we propose a demand prediction model using multiple classifiers, time grouping, categorization, weather analysis, and station correlation information. In addition, we analyze real-world relocation data by relocation managers and propose a relocation algorithm based on the analytical results to solve the bike rebalancing problem. The proposed system is compared experimentally with the results obtained by the real relocation managers.

  • In general, station relocation for a geostationary orbit satellite is formulated as a request for moving the spacecraft from its present longitude to the target longitude within a given time interval. The station relocation maneuver is composed of drift orbit insertion maneuver and target orbit insertion maneuver. During station relocation, the satellite orbit is continually influenced by the non-spherical geo-potential. When we plan a maneuver, if we do not consider the influence, the satellite may not be relocate to desired longitude successfully. To solve this problem, we applied the linearised orbit transfer equation to acquire maneuver time and delta-V. Nonlinear simulation for the station relocation of multiple satellites is performed in order to verify the distance between two satellites.
