  • In this study, we described the Pyrovalve used in the propulsion system. It is very important to ensure its reliablity of operation because Pyrovalve is a pyrotechnic device for controlling fuel and air line of propulsion system. so we focused on improving operational reliability through several analyses and tests.

  • Capacitor-type MONOS (metal-oxide-nitride-oxide- semiconductor) NVSMs with 23$\AA$ tunneling oxide and 40$\AA$ blocking oxide were fabricated. The thicknesses of nitride layer were 45$\AA$, 91$\AA$ and 223$\AA$, Breakdown characteristics of MONOS devices were measured to investigate the reliability of superthin ONO structure using ramp voltage and constant voltage method. Reducing the nitride thickness will significantly increase the reliablity of MONOS NVSM.

A Preliminary Study for the Standardization of the "Korean Maternal Behavior Inventory" ("어머니의 양육행동 척도" 표준화를 위한 예비 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop 『Korean Maternal Behavior Inverntory』(KMBI). The subjects were 712 mothers of 4th-6th grade elementary school children from 5 urban cities in Korea. Item analysis. Cronbach's α, Pearson's r, Factor analysis, and Percentile norms were conducted for the purpose of the study. The major findings were as follows; 1. By the method of item analysis and factor analysis, 51 items were selected for the scale of maternal behavior. 2. A factor analysis showed 7 factors(Reasoning guidance, Affect, Antliorian Control, Achievement, Overprotection, Active Involvement, Limit Setting) as separated domains from each others. 3. The reliablity coefficient of the scale was ranged from 62 to 81 sufficient to secure reliability. 4. Percentile ranks were drived from the total score and quartiles were calculted for the each of seven factor's scores. The present study presents a potentially highly useful way of measuring maternal behavior of 4th-6th grade elementary school children in Korea.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine whether social support buffers the deleterious effects of strain on life satisfaction of the aged and to provide information for finding out ways of increasing their life satisfaction. The subjects of this study were 252 aged persons living in Kwangju and Joun-nam. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency percentage mean standard deviation reliablity Pearson's correlation multiple regression analysis through the SAS package program. 1) The support score from family was higher than the support from friends and the total point of life satisfaction of the aged was 28.4 which was above the median 24. 2) Social support especially the support from family buffer the negative effect of strain on life satisfaction of the aged. The result indicates that the family remains a supportive system for the aged parents Therefore A program in necessary for aged parents to promote the emotional solidarity between the aged parents and their children.

  • As a environment of SCM is issued recently, many enterprises are concerned about inventory control for an efficiency of operation and reliablity. The goal of them is to match up to improving of facilities and redoing of inventory cost. To put an efficiency in the operation rate of facilites, A moderate provision of spare parts for that would come into a matter. This study designs two-echelon spare parts distribution system and sees over the relationship between operating rate and inventories of spare parts. and then it determines fitting inventories and investment cost considering an operating rate.

Development of CPC/COLSS Simulation Model for YGN#3,4 Simulator

  • The safety and reliablity of nuclear power plant operations relies heavily on the plant operators ability to respond to various emergency situations. It has become standard industry practice to utilize simulators to improve the safety and reliability of nuclear power plants operations. The simulators built for Younggwang#3("YGN#3"), which is based on the Korean Standard Nuclear Power Plant ("KSNPP")design, has been developed precisely for this purpose. The YGN#3 simulator is the first simulator in Korea to be developed locally and is now operational on site. A particular attention was placed on the development of CPC/COLLS safety system which is unique to the YGN#3. The effort to develop CPC/COLLS simulation model has been successful and plans exist for applying this model to simulator projects in the future.jects in the future.

  • The object of this study is the design of 3 phase on-board inverter. The key point in the inverter design is the selection of switching device, and its performance effects that of total system. In this study, six-step square wave inverter was designed using IGBT ( Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor ) which has the advantages of MOSFET and bipolar transistor as switching device. The condition of being small and light which is the one of requirements for on-board equipment was accomplished by using IGBT module and optimising the snubber circuit, and the reliablity was increased. It is confirmed that the designed inverter satisfies the required performance through the performance and environment test.

Automating the visual classification of metal cores

  • An automatic visual classification system is introduced which provides for measuring the length and diameter of coilform cores and dividing them into 5 different classed in terms of how far their length be from the desired length. This task is fully automated by controlling two STEP motors and by using image processing techniques. The classification procedure is broken into three logical parts, First, cores in the form of randomly stacked bundle are lined up one by one so as to be well captured by a camera. The second part involves capturing core image. Then, it enters the measuring process. Finally, this machine would retain all the information relating to the length. According to the final result, cores are sent to the corresponding bin. This considerably simplifies the selecting task and facilitates a greatly improved reliablity in precision. The average classifying capability is about 2 pieces per second.
