Background: Preanalytical factors can affect reliability of hormone assay results. Adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) in blood is considered highly unstable because of proteolytic degradation, so storage of blood samples on ice until analysis is recommended. In clinical practice, however, this procedure may present logistical problems because most samples for ACTH measurement must be shipped from the place of sample collection to the laboratory. Therefore, we studied the impact of time and temperature before plasma separation and analysis on the results of ACTH assays. Methods: A total number of 22 patients were enrolled in this study. We obtained 2 blood samples. ACTH concentrations were 35~126 pg/mL. ACTH concentrations were measured by immunoradiometric assay (IRMA) using commercial kits (CIS Biointernational, Gif-sur-Yvette, France). Results: ACTH levels showed a significant difference between the samples of $22^{\circ}C$ EDTA and $4^{\circ}C$ EDTA. Measured ACTH concentrations significantly decreased with time before freezing at $-20^{\circ}C$. ACTH levels showed no significant difference between the groups of after storage for 24 hr without centrifugation at $22^{\circ}C$ and $4^{\circ}C$. Conclusion: We recommend that blood samples be obtained on pre-chilled EDTA collection tubes. The shortest possible time between sample collection and processing is always the best laboratory practice.
Electron beam have many factors that affect dose distribution, so even if identical settings are used, they should be identified and used for radiation treatment, and the effects on the structures in the body are sensitive, making it difficult to investigate uniform dose distribution on tumors. In this study, a dosimeter was produced using PbI2 which is a photoelectric material, and electrical characteristics were analyzed for 6, 9, and 12 MeV electronics in linear accelerators. The reproducibility test results showed that RSD were 1.1215%, 1.0160%, and 0.05137% respectively at 6, 9, and 12 MeV energies, indicating that the output signals were stable. The linearity evaluation results showed that the R2 values of the reliability indicator for straight line trend lines were 0.9999, 0.9999, and 0.9994, respectively, at 6, 9, and 12 MeV, to confirm that the output signal was proportional to PbI2 as dose increased. The PbI2 dosimeter in this study is judged to be highly applicable to electromagnet measurement and is thought to be able to be used as a basic study of electron detector through photoelectric material.
The purpose of this study is to develop a assessment tool that can be used to measure core competencies by describing operational definitions of the six core competencies of KBU and constructing sub-factors accordingly. The followings are the results of this study. First, this study analyzed previous research on KBU 6 competencies and set operational definitions through Bible verses describing KBU core competencies. Second, the sub-elements according to the definition of core competency were selected through previous research and the drafting of assessment tools for each sub-element was developed. And then, confirmed the validity of the tool as a suitable tool for KBU, through a review of professors who are fluent in KBU's founding philosophy and policies. The assessment tools were revised based on feedback from the professors. Third, in order to validate the assessment tool, the researchers conducted a survey on students in the second semester of 2018. The data was collected, the reliability was checked based on the data, the validity was verified through EFA and CFA, and the final assessment tool was confirmed. In conclusion, this study is meaningful in developing the KBU core competency assessment tool, and it is expected that will be able to systematically manage the KBU competency of students.
Performance-based budgeting(hereafter PB2) is supposed to improve efficiency and effectiveness of public organizations. Governmental PB2 is based on output flow rather than input flow. Since 1990s, many OECD nations including New Zealand and the United States have been changing their budget system to PB2. The Korean Government has been using input-based budgeting focusing on the size of expenditures. In 1999, The Ministry of Planning and Budget(hereafter MPB) conducted pilot projects for divisions or agencies of governmental departments for the purpose of improving efficiency in expenditure, rationalizing budget allotments, and inducing budget savings. However, performance budgeting may also have problems in terms of measurement and application. Due to the fact that public goals are abstract and may vary, it is difficult to induce performance indicators from public goals. There also seem not to be any performance indicators which correspond with the conditions of desirable indicators, such as validity, reliability, clarity, practicality, controllability and so on. In terms of applying an original budgeting plan, the difficulty of linking performance and budgeting, the appearance of unintended negative effect and externalities, and the repulsion of subordinated agencies are expected. Now days, local government is going to introduce PB2. Same problem may happen in the local government. And Therefore, the objectives of this paper are to introduce PB2 onlocal government and review a alternative strategy with the purpose of smoothly settling performance budgeting on local government. That is the linkage of Balanced Scorecard(BSC) and PB2.
The low dose radiation is done for a long period, thus researchers have to know the exact dose distribution for the irradiated mouse. This research has been conducted in order to find out methods in transmitting an exact dose to mouse in a mouse irradiation experiment carried out using $^{137}Cs$ irradiation equipment installed in the DIRAMS (Dongnam Institution of Radiological & Medical Sciences) research center. We developed a single mouse housing cage and shelf with adjustable geometric factors such as distance and angle from collimator. The measurement of irradiated dose showed a maximal 42% difference of absorbed dose from the desired dose in the conventional irradiation system, whereas only 6% difference of the absorbed dose was measured in the self-developed mouse apartment system. In addition, multi mice housing showed much difference of the absorbed dose in between head and body, compared to single mouse housing in the conventional irradiation system. This research may allow further research about biological effect assessment for the low dose irradiation using the self-developed mouse apartment to provide more exact doses which it tries to transmit, and to have more reliability for the biological analysis results.
In this article, data mining simulation is applied to find a proper approach and results of analysis for study of variables related to organization. Also, turnover intention and organizational commitment are used as target (dependent) variables in this simulation. Classification and regression tree (CART) with ensemble methods are used in this study for simulation. Human capital corporate panel data of Korea Research Institute for Vocation Education & Training (KRIVET) is used. The panel data is collected in 2005, 2007, and 2009. Organizational commitment variables are analyzed with combined measure variables which are created after investigation of reliability and single dimensionality for multiple-item measurement details. The results of this study are as follows. First, major determinants of turnover intention are trust, communication, and talent management-oriented trend. Second, the main determining factors for organizational commitment are trust, the number of years worked, innovation, communication. CART with ensemble methods has two ensemble CART methods which are CART with Bagging and CART with Arcing. Comparing two methods, CART with Arcing (Arc-x4) extracted scenarios with very high coefficients of determination. In this study, a scenario with maximum coefficient of determinant and minimum error is obtained and practical implications are presented. Using one of data mining methods, CART with ensemble method. Also, the limitation and future research are discussed.
The purpose of this study is to provide with basic information on application of hand acupuncture as a complementary and alternative therapy by giving some recognition of efficiency and effectiveness of hand acupuncture. And so, answers for questionnaires of 290 respondents were used for this research and collected from June 5 through 13, 1999 from adults twenty and over who were participating in the hand acupuncture training program in Seoul and had some direct experiences with hand acupuncture therapy, whatever they had been treated and/or had treated. To secure reliability of measurement tool. Cronbach'a has been calculated and Factor Analysis was done as Validity Analysis of question classification. Demograprucal characteristics of hand acupuncture experienced people and factors related to hand acupuncture experiences are calculated based on the real number and percentage. The degree of recognition of efficiency and effectiveness of hand acupuncture is made as average and standard deviation, while the degree of recognition of efficiency and effectiveness based on general characteristics come from one-way ANOVA. 1. This study was conducted to investigate customer taste related to satisfaction of a baby's first birthday party and re-visit of venues. General characteristics of customers were similar in male and female or the married and the unmarried. Mainstream age of respondents was from in their 20's to 30's. Among them, the number of university graduates were the largest in education level. Theoretical model was composed with seven significant variables of design style and composition and design harmony and color sense for flower decoration, accessibility, facility, service and price, satisfaction, and intention of re-visit based on the result of analysis on these factors. Exploratory factor analysis was performed using SPSS 14.0K. Structural equation modeling(SEM) for simultaneous measure of path coefficient in all casualty of study model, measurement model of AMOS 7.0 for evaluation of validity, and reliability and factor analysis method using technical statistics, frequency analysis, and Cronbach's Alpha for data analysis were used. The result of hypothesis verification showed that design style and composition was the most significant item in satisfaction of parameter and it was followed by design harmony and color sense. While service and price had positive effect on satisfaction, accessibility and facility had no relation to it. It means that the most crucial variable was a flower decoration in planning and representation of the celebration of baby's first birthday. In conclusion, the finding of this study suggests that the effective utilization of these variables will contribute to the enhancement of satisfaction affecting improvement service and price or intention of re-visit.
Social entrepreneurship plays a key role in organizational performance, and social contribution activities are related to organizational members' perception of social enterprise value and performance sharing. The purpose of this study is to verify the mediating effect of social contribution activities in the relationship between social entrepreneurship and organizational performance. For the study, a questionnaire survey was conducted on members of social enterprises, and data of 186 valid copies were used for statistical analysis. Statistical analysis used reliability of measurement variables, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and mediating effect analysis. The results of the study are as follows. First, there was a significant correlation between social entrepreneurship, social contribution activities, and organizational performance. Second, social entrepreneurship has a significant correlation with organizational performance. Social purpose and initiative, sub-factors of social entrepreneurship, had a significant influence on organizational commitment. Third, social contribution activities showed a significant relationship with organizational performance. Fourth, in the relationship between social entrepreneurship and organizational performance, social contribution activities showed a partial mediating effect. This suggests that social contribution activities play an important role in improving the performance of social enterprises.
Proton therapy using the Bragg peak is one of the radiation therapies and can deliver its maximum energy to the tumor with giving least energy for normal tissue. A cross-sectional image of the human body taken with the computed tomography (CT) has been used for radiation therapy planning. The HU values change according to the tube voltage, which lead to the change in the boundary and thickness of the anatomical structure on the CT image. This study examined the changes in the Bragg peak of the brain region according to the thickness variation in the head phantom composed of several materials using the Geant4. In the phantom composed of a single material, the Bragg peak according to the type of media and the incident energy of the proton beams were calculated, and the reliability of Geant4 code was verified by the Bragg peak. The variation of the peak in the brain region was examined when each thickness of the head phantom was changed. When the thickness of the soft tissue was changed, there was no change in the peak position, and for the skin the change in the peak was small. The change of the peak position was mainly changed when the bone thickness. In particular, when the bone was changed only or the bone was changed together with other tissues, the amount of change in the peak position was the same. It is considered that measurement of the accurate bone thickness in CT images is one of the key factors in depth-dose distribution of the radiation therapy planning.
