Though the wireless ad-hoc network which is recently highly focused is power limited network, one of the main research topic is power saving. We propose a optimal power allocation strategy and derive the optimal power of the opportunistic transmission relays for minimum outage probability of the power limited network. It is shown that the proposed optimal power allocation has always better performance than that of the equal power allocation.

In this paper, the average probability of the symbol error rate (SER) and throughput are studied in the presence of joint spectrum sensing and data transmission in a cognitive relay network, which is in the environment of an optimal power allocation strategy. In this investigation, the main component in calculating the secondary throughput is the inclusion of the spatial false alarms, in addition to the conventional false alarms. It has been shown that there exists an optimal secondary power amplification factor at which the probability of SER has a minimum value, whereas the throughput has a maximum value. We performed a Monte-Carlo simulation to validate the analytical results.

In oceanic flight routes, HF radio and satellite data links have been used for air-to-ground communication, but these systems have long propagation delay and low data throughput. In this paper, we propose a reliable system to overcome the weakness of current HF radio and satellite communication systems for oceanic aeronautical flight routes. The proposed scheme uses only one aeronautical VHF channel in multi-hop oceanic communication environments and supports a hybrid type of multiple access, which consists of random access and TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) scheme. The proposed system improves performance on delay and throughput as an effective solution to communicate end-to-end on the oceanic flight routes and strengthens the reliability of oceanic aeronautical communication.

In this paper, we predicted the propagation loss for the air-to-ground (A2G) channel between the ground control system and the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) using the prediction model for the aircraft recommended by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). We analyzed the network coverage of the aerial relay system based on the medium altitude UAVs by expanding it into the air-to-air (A2A) channel. Climate and geographic factors in Korea were used to predict propagation loss due to atmospheres. We used the measured data published by the Telecommunication Technology Association (TTA) for regional rainfall-rate and effective earth radius factors to increase accuracy. In addition, the aerial relay communication system used the key parameter of the common data link (CDL) system developed in Korea recently. Prediction results show that the network coverage of the aerial relay system broadens at higher altitude.
Multihop transmission is a promising technique that helps in achieving broader coverage (excellent network connectivity) and preventing the impairment of wireless channels. This paper proposes a cluster-based multihop wireless network that makes use of the advantages of multihop relaying, i.e., path loss gain, and partial relay selection in each hop, i.e., spatial diversity. In this partial relay selection, the node with the maximum instantaneous channel gain will serve as the sender for the next hop. With the proposed protocol, the transmit power and spectral efficiency can be improved over those in the case of direct transmission and conventional multihop transmission. Moreover, at a high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), the performance of the system with at least two nodes in each cluster is dependent only on the last hop and not on any of the intermediate hops. For a practically feasible decode-and-forward relay strategy, a compact expression for the probability density function of the end-to-end SNR at the destination is derived. This expression is then used to derive closed-form expressions for the outage probability, average symbol error rate, and average bit error rate for M-ary square quadrature amplitude modulation as well as to determine the spectral efficiency of the system. In addition, the probability of SNR gain over direct transmission is investigated for different environments. The mathematical analysis is verified by various simulation results for demonstrating the accuracy of the theoretical approach.

The VLC (visible light communication) system is communication technology using visible rays (RGB) that come out in LED device. It is energy curtailment effect and possible in ubiquitous network service applications. Also, VLC system has the above advantage about that the communication throughout the whole room is enabled by high power lighting and lighting equipment with white colored LED which are easy to install and have good outward appearance. However, the signal detection performance for the receiver near the network of transmitter boundary is severely degraded and the transmission efficiency decreased due to the influence of the interference signal from the adjacent networks. In this paper, we propose an interference mitigation method with optical relay and optical beamforming scheme in VLC systems, and evaluate the reception performance. For the system BER, the proposed system demonstrates the performance enhancement compared to the not using the optical relay and optical beamforming scheme, and SNR performance gain and higher channel capacity is achieved.

This paper represents a new approach for the protective relay of power transmission lines using a Artificial Neural Network(ANN). A different fault m transmission lines need to be detected classified and located accurately and cleared as fast as possible. However, The protection range of the distance relay is always designed on the basis of fixed settings, and unfortunately these approach do not have the ability to adapt dynamically to the system operating condition. ANN is suitable for the adaptive relaying and the detection of complex faults. The backpropagation algerian based multi-layer protection is utilized for the teaming process. It allows to make control to various protection functions. As expected, the simulation result demonstrate that this approach is useful and satisfactory.

In this paper, we consider an efficient protocol for the multi-hop relay transmission on a sensor network which can be utilized in a ubiquitous environment. More specifically, we propose an efficient relaying protocol for the distance and position recognition on the proposed sensor network which performs with the differentially bi-orthogonal chirp spread spectrum (DBO-CSS) in the industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) bands. For an efficient networking access, we design and implement four different packet structures, zone information packet, hop information packet, tag information packet, and application serial packet. Additionally, we also propose an efficient position recognition algorithm. Finally, for verification of our proposed protocol's efficiency, we build the testbed system which consists of $15m{\times}15m$ multi-cell and 10 hops in the network.

VANET has several different characteristics from MANET such as high mobility of nodes and frequent change of node density and network topology. Due to these characteristics, the network topology based protocol, often used in MANET, can not be applied to VANET. In this paper, we propose an emergency warning message broadcast protocol using range based relay node selecting algorithm which determines the minimal waiting time spent by a given node before rebroadcasting the received warning message. Because the time is randomly calculated based on the distance between sender node and receiver node, a node chosen as a relay node is assured to have a minimal waiting time, even though it is not located at the border of radio transmission range. The proposed emergency warning message broadcast protocol has low network traffic because it does not need to exchange control messages for message broadcasting. In addition, it can reduce End-to-End delay under circumstances of low node density and short transmission range in VANET.

In this paper, a protection system using a Multi-Agent concept for power distribution networks is proposed. Every digital over current relay(OCR) is developed as an agent by adding its own intelligence, self-tuning and communication ability. The main advantage of the Multi-Agent concept is that a group of agents work together to achieve a global goal which is beyond the ability of each individual agent. In order to cope with frequent changes in the network operation condition and faults, an OCR agent, suggested in this paper, is able to detect a fault or a change in the network and find its optimal parameters for protection in an autonomous manner considering information of the whole network obtained by communication between other agents. Through this kind of coordination and information exchanges, not only a local but also a global protective scheme is completed. Simulations in a simple distribution network show the effectiveness of the suggested protection system.
